people talk a lot about detachment but at the end of the day it’s literally a normal human reaction to feel sad when someone you liked or cared about treats you poorly or things don’t work out. you cannot avoid that unless you’re a psychopath or you refuse to emotionally connect with anyone. extreme detachment is not healthy or normal. it’s okay to feel negative emotions, it’s part of what makes us human and alive… what’s important is picking yourself up and moving on

just got home from work. have an assignment due tonight. chugging along and more than halfway through this art history class. i’ve enjoyed it so far!

i think the western world has made us so caught up on having a purpose and finding it for our whole entire lives. some indigenous cultures believe we’re alive and here just as trees and animals are: to be here and to beautiful and strange, to simply just be. we don’t need to achieve anything to be valid in our humanness.

Little studying but being considered. Gave the Language Reactor extension another try since I saw it recommended in the Finnish Language Nuggets channel. Had tried it long ago and didnt remember it working well, but it might have been when most videos didn't have the autogenerated captions, so will be using it from now on!
Wrote some phrases down with it and also listened to my finnish music playlist. Haven't listened to it in some months, so it was nice revisiting it and seeing how much more i understood.
Also peep the stuff i got in my visit to the museum for me and my penpals :)
