why are people even questioning obesity in america
why is your tea liquidised?
….. Where exactly do you live that the tea isn’t liquid?!?
ENGLAND. WHERE IT IS IN A BAG AND YOU MAKE IT YOURSELF.
like what do you do with already liquid tea? Microwave it?
No it’s sweet tea you drink it cold
WHO DRINKS COLD TEA???
HAVE YOU NEVER HAD ICED/SWEET TEA BEFORE?!?
so i reblogged this from a british person and i’ve been laughing at their tags for 600 years
England, you stole tea from China. You’ve had it a mere 4 centuries compared to their 30+. Don’t play like you’re some kind of authority.
[skeletons ooh-ing]
Shots fired. World War Tea has officially begun.
#INTO THE HARBOR
Englad doesn’t own anything
except that time we owned most of the world
If I stop reblogging this, I’ve gone to the other side.
I have only seen this legendary post in screenshots, so today is a blessed day.

To writers or aspiring writer!
Please read this or please share this
I want to touch of the topic of describing people, mostly ones of POC. There were some big issues that me and my friends noticed when reading some things that made us highly uncomfortable. Examples will all be at the bottom!
Skin
When writing someone of color or anyone in general I get it that you don’t want to be offensive. Like using Black when describing an African American or Brown when describing a Latino. But when people try to get around that they use food to describe skin tones, which, in most of our eyes, is more offensive. We start to feel uncomfortable when our skin is being described as food. Please note, us POC don’t mind if you use Black, Brown, Tan, etc. except Asians and Indigenous. Never call us or our skin Yellow, Orange, or Red. That is borderline racist. Here are some suggestions and bad examples.
African or African American- Just use black | do not use Chocolate
Latinos- Brown or Tan is fine! | Caramel or Cinnamon is not fine!
Asians- Ivory! Ivory! | Never use Custard or Yellow
Indigenous- I usually use nature (ground or sand) if I have trouble with this. Any indigenous people, please educate me on some better terms! | But never use Orange, Red, taffy or honey
Whites- uh, peach or white I guess. I have never seen those used and it making whites uncomfortable
Body
Ok, I kind of understand that’s it’s hard to describe someone’s body without being gross about it, but that’s kind of. No wait, actually it’s VERY EASY to describe someone without sexualizing the character or being plain gross. This also applies to someone’s face. Using words like squinty is borderline racist. Use normal everyday eye shaped. Almond, Protruding, or Hooded (if used correctly) are normal words for eyes and if you have trouble just do a google search on eye shapes. When talking about bodies, don’t sexualize the body. Don’t call them curve or thick. Don’t focus on their chest, hips, boobs, curves and butts. This is a common thing when people write POC and I will say, that is fetishizing POC! Describing them as petite or small is ok. That’s it you aren’t focused on anything other than calling them this small thing.
What you can do
If writing a character of color is hard or your trying to find non offensive stuff, just go talk to a person of that color. Like I can list some people who will be happy to tell you if your description is offensive or tell you words that aren’t offensive. But just do your research!

EXAMPLES
PS: We all felt like thowing up when writing these, also all are bad examples accept for the one good example
Mine
Thank you @charoitestarz
Thanks @onesadsapphic
Yes, yes, yes!
You can ask me for assistance when it comes to writing not only Black characterization but also Mixed (mostly White/Black mix)!
I, myself, am POC and mixed race (mom is white, dad is black).
And don’t forget phrasing and words. Including slurs, research or ask! There’s long history behind things and I’d rather be DM’ed a dozed times then read something offensive!
And please do go follow the other wonderful people in this post! ❤️❤️
“Many of you are writing about race, racism and white supremacy right now. Please use this chart to correctly identify Black Americans. Accuracy in how we identify folks is paramount always but especially right now.”
I love this so much, I’m gonna start saying “nuts” we need to bring it back
I love b&w proper ladies breaking character with “sonofabitch”
Is the Hetalia fandom seriously dying??
If that’s so, I suggest you reblog this post if you still post Hetalia (be it fanart, PWGBTA, fanfiction, edits…anything as long as it’s Hetalia-related.)
I don’t usually reblog things here, but my weeb history loving butt will never pry my claws from this glorious freakshow we’ve come to love and adore.
Still kicking!
I run multiple ask blogs, the most active being @ask-butterboy !
Teach children that this is not ok
Teach children that there’s nothing wrong with this
I’m really not understanding why you think cultural appropriation would be ok, unless you are assuming that the girl in the picture is part Japanese.
Yellow face yet she’s using white makeup in the traditional style but okay.
Cultural appropriation isn’t a thing, hon. ☺️ Cultures should be shared by all means.
I disagree. The makeup is clearly reflective of traditional Geisha makeup which is yellowface and therefore racist. Furthermore, the girl is wearing a kimono, a garment that has for ages carried cultural significance. Assuming that she is white how can you think this is ok? And cultural appropriation isn’t a thing? What rock do you live under? I suggest you educate yourself on the differences between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation.
I am japanese, in japan at this very moment. The only people who think culture shouldnt be shared are racists like you.
A vast majority of Japanese people actually enjoy other people making an effort to spread and enjoy japanese culture, and encourage it. Many make businesses in deliberately taking pictures of people in kimono. A common omiage (gift) for foreigners from japanese people is traditional japanese things such as kimonos, tea seats, shisa dog statues, ect.
And to top it off, basically 80 percent of japanese customs, traditions, and food, came from other countries. Japanese is an integration of different cultures, like america. Japan takes influences from places like korea, china, russia, and europe. If japan stuck to itself, there would be no tempura, japanese tea, tea ceremonies, kabuki, japanese bread, japanese curry, j- pop, anime, cars, or modern fishing techniques. The picture is not “yellow face” they are not making fun of asians. In fact, it looks like they put extra care and research into their work.
The only reason that you have a problem with this is because that little girl is white and you know that it is acceptable on tumblr to crap all over white people. The only racist here is you.
Rekt
Dang she got shut down.
Damn I’ve never hit reblog so fast in my entire fucking life
Daaaaamn
Pew pew pew
I reblog this every time I see it
I live in Japan and I’d like to back up this sentiment.
Recently a museum in Boston came under a lot of fire for allowing visitors to wear a ‘kimono’ (it was featuring a painting my Monet of a girl – a white girl – in a kimono, and the museum had replicas made that guests of ANY RACE could wear to mimic the painting, Pageant-of-the-Masters style). After protests and heated debate, the museum closed the event.
I was living in Japan at the time, and out of all the *actual* Japanese people I asked, not a single one was offended by the event. Rather, they were excited that people half a world away were showing interest in their culture, and were sad that visitors could no longer enjoy the event.
This party, though somewhat silly in application, is an attempt at experiencing and appreciating another culture. The mom who put this together is not an expert on Japan, but she did her best. She got a lot of things right: there are few things Japan loves more than tea, Pocky, and sakura.
Where do you draw the line for who is “allowed” to learn about Japan? If the girl were of Japanese descent, would that make it ok (even though her citizenship would be the same as the girl from the photo)? If one of the girl’s parents were from Japan, then would it be ok?
Are you only allowed to make pizza if you live in Italy? If you’re an Italian immigrant? How do we decide these things??
You can’t say you want to dismantle racism and then in the next breath make rules – based on race – for who people can wear, try, or eat, especially when the intent is obviously to have fun experiencing a culture (as opposed to having fun by making fun of a race or culture, like blackface does).
When you tell people they can only experience things ‘meant for their race’, it totally smacks of segregation to me and I can’t stand it. As someone who (obviously) loves Japan, I say let people learn about it, let people experience it, let people appreciate it. You don’t have to know every single thing about a culture to enjoy it.
fucking people got owned is what, fuck i hate how people say you cant do shit when culture should be shared and is shared its how it grows and changes through fucking generations itS HOW YOU LEARN about the world and just fucking, tumblr fucking stupid like 70% of the dam time
this new light
Vintage post, sipping on it like fine wine.
I honestly love Japanese culture. It looks really peaceful and serene 😊
I actually wanna live in Japan after I actually learn Japanese
Do some research before you open your mouth folks.

GO OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF YES
hey just a heads up/warning for those of you who don’t do well dealing with the heavy subjects or videos portraying violent acts, sandyhook promise has a new gun violence school shooting PSA that is probably going to be going viral and is slated to play on television and in AMC movie theaters and it’s pretty heavy, especially at the end. I know it’s a topic that needs to be discussed but it’s not a video that everyone will be able to watch, so just a warning for those of you that might not be able to handle it.
For when you’re stuck watching like in a theater- When it begins to play, you will see kids talking about their binder or their other school supplies. When you see the boy with the skateboard, stop watching and plug your ears.
I think you should stop watching when you see this person saying “these colorful binders help me stay organized” because pretty much right after that there’s some panic inducing stuff. The entire ad is 67 seconds long.
It’s legit terrifying to watch. It hits you out of nowhere and I know that this is important for people to understand but I have anxiety and this just makes my fear of school shooters worse
It’s called “Back-To-School Essentials” on Youtube. Dark themes to watch out for plus timestamps:
Lock Down Drill (background) - 0:06
Panic - 0:12
Screaming - 0:17
Gunshots - 0:31
Blood - 0:33
0:39 - 0:55 - a girl texts her mom “i love you” in a bathroom stall as she’s stalked by an intruder
Boosting this because I saw it came up on insta and without knowing what it was i played it and ended up having a break down over its ending. It’s an extremely important topic but also…. extremely hard to watch……..
It’s going around Tumblr now too, just so you’re all prepared
I watched it when it first started going around and it made me incredibly anxious. Heads up to anybody who needs a heads up.
The first time I watched it I legit felt a panic attack start. If I wasnt on the call with someone to help me before it got into a full blown thing, it would of been much worse for me- please dont watch this unless you can stomach it
DO NOT SCROLL!!
Please reblog this, it is very serious!
So I just now learned about Stagecoach Mary and how have I never heard of this absolute LEGEND of a woman before
She was born a slave and freed when the Emancipation Proclamation was issued (she was about 30)
She was about six feet tall and 200 pounds and once she was free she decided she’d never take shit from anyone ever again
When one of her close friends, a nun by the name of Mother Amadeus, became ill with pneumonia at her convent in Montana, Mary headed alone into the frontier to nurse Mother Amadeus back to health
After Mother Amadeus recovered, she gave Mary a job as the foreman of the convent. She repaired buildings, took care of chickens, made the long and dangerous journeys into town for supplies, and did other odd jobs.
She could drink most men under the table, and one saloon offered five bucks and a free shot of whiskey to any man who could take a punch to the face from Mary and remain standing.
She was once said by a local paper to have broken more noses than anyone else in Montana
She was outspokenly Republican, which at this time was the liberal party in America, and would get into political debates with the more conservative townsfolk
One time a man insulted her outside the saloon so hit him in the face with a rock, and only stopped when other cowboys held her back.
On one supply run into town, her wagon overturned and the horses fled. Mary spent all night single-handedly fending off a pack of wolves with her guns before she righted the heavy wagon by herself and tracked down the spooked horses. The only thing lost in the accident was a jar of molasses.
She lost her job at the convent when she got into a gunfight with a male employee who did not want to take orders from a black woman. She reportedly shot him in the ass, which angered the local bishop.
After losing her convent job, Mary spent a brief time running a restaurant, where she welcomed and served all comers
When a job for a mail carrier opened at the local US Post Office, Mary got the job because she managed to hitch six horses to a wagon faster than any of the male candidates
She was sixty at the time
This made her the first black woman mail carrier, and the second woman mail carrier in US history
When the snows were too deep for the horses to manage the long and dangerous delivery routes, Mary would strap on snowshoes, put the bags of mail on her shoulders, and do it herself
At one point she apparently had a pet eagle????
She only retired from the mail route when she was about 70 years old, and instead made a quieter living by babysitting and running a laundry business in the town of Cascade
She was a huge baseball fan and often gave the local team a big bouquet of flowers from her garden
The people of Cascade loved Mary so much that they closed the schools annually on her birthday
When a law was passed in Montana that forbade women from drinking in saloons, the mayor of Cascade granted Mary an exemption.
When her house burned down, the whole town got together to help her build a new one
She continued drinking, fighting, and going to baseball games until she died of liver failure at 82 in 1914
Mary (far right) and the local baseball team
Anyway sorry for gushing I just now heard about her and I’m in love
I’ve heard of her, but godDAMN, if her story doesn’t bear repeating. ^w^
She has her own wikipedia page. Enjoy.
