ao3 says people don’t have to tag ai fanfics

if anyone else has seen the shitshow happening on twitter (someone found out if you copy paste directly from claude into ao3, it shows up in your source code and included a list of fics with it)

i reported some of these for not tagging that they used ai and this was the response

are we okay with this?? i don’t believe ai has a place in any art, but ao3 also has a mission against censorship so i understand not wanting to ban it. the very least they can do is require people to tag it so readers can avoid it but they explicitly aren’t.
