These are some of them, most were golden retrivers and labradors, but also included german shepherds and other breeds. Sadly most are dead now, while many people forget them and don’t spare them a thought. 

As people lay dying, trapped and hurt, a team of nearly 100 loyal and courageous search dogs put their lives on the line to help humans. Without them, many more would not have survived, yet few people consider them. 

In such a chaotic, terrifying, hot, acrid-smelling, smokey and loud environment, countless human lives depended on their ability to focus, listen, respond to their handlers, and work tirelessly. Stepping over cracked glass, hot tarmac, through flames and thick smoke, being winched over deep ravines, they battled on to seek out survivors and bring them aid. 

They worked around the clock, day and night, searching, sniffing, over and over. Not only did they search, but they comforted - many eyewitnesses speak of how the dogs would stop and sit by newly-recovered victims, giving them a sense of hope and relief, before moving on to look for the next. As the situation became desperate, and the rescue workers and fire teams became utterly distraught at the amount of people who were recovered dead, these dogs brought them comfort, sitting with them on breaks, letting them grieve.

Many of these dogs are old, and have passed away. Let us remember the courage and loyalty they showed at such a horrendous event. They didn’t have a choice, but nonetheless they did what was asked of them and helped save countless lives. Don’t let their bravery be forgotten today either, or their determination to be a ‘good dog’ despite the scary and dangerous environment around them.

Bretagne (pronounced Brittany), the last known living search dog who helped recover victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks died in a Houston suburb on June 7, 2016.

A statement from the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service says Bretagnee, a 16 year old Golden Retriever, was euthanized at a veterinary clinic in Cypress, Texas.

Bretagne was 2 years old when she and her handler, Denise Corliss, were part of the Texas Task Force 1 sent to the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan after two hijacked airlines brought down the Twin Towers. They spent 10 days at the scene searching rubble for human remains.

The Houston Chronicle reported that two dozen firefighters lined the sidewalk as Bretagne was brought into the veterinarian’s office. 

An American flag was draped over the dog’s body as it was carried out.

The social context a person comes from heavily influences their expectations for dating, courtship, sex, love, and romantic relationships. Meaning that a man who is looking for dating partners in a club vs a church vs community sports club will likely have different initial dating goals based on the social values and background for dating and pursuing sexual relationships.

The family history a person comes from influences their sense of self, personality, and gender expectations. This means that how their family of origin and accompanying cultural situation taught them to view and act masculine, feminine, and how relationships between men and women occur.

Finally, the biological firebrand of testosterone is undeniable. Testosterone is a powerful thing. It is powerful enough to make a biological female grow a beard and penis (Ie, clitoral enlargement) within a few months of supplementing (female bodybuilders are a typical example of this). Imagine how a woman with stereotypical symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (pms) or premenstrual dysphoric disorder acts when their hormones fluctuate? Testosterone has its own effects- a biological drive to fuck or fight. That’s what testosterone does throughout the day for a man, and that biological burns hottest between ages 18-30.

Developed by Prof. Amir Amedi, founding director of the Baruch Ivcher Institute for Brain, Cognition & Technology at IDC Herzliya, EyeMusic converts visual stimuli into “soundscapes” — sound units that convey information about geometric shapes.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging of the man’s brain before and after he learned to recognize soundscapes revealed that neural circuits in his brain had formed “topographic maps” previously thought incapable of forming after infancy.

“The human brain is indeed more plastic during infancy, but it maintains an enormous potential for reprogramming throughout a person’s life,” said Amedi, who did groundbreaking research into sensory substitution devices at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem before joining IDC in 2019.

Also after googling her, I found out that she’s also designed Sylveon–another favorite PKMN of mine. She’s also illustrated some very pretty Pokemon cards!!

Car ownership rates are much lower here in Russia than in America and cities, towns and districts are planned around railway and metro stations, essentially. You really don't want to know what this does to property prices.

There are small towns that essentially have one bus leaving it twice a week and most families there can't afford a car.
