Got stuck making clothes for him, but finally all done! Here's Lachlan, another NPC for the Fabula Ultima campaign I run for my friends.

The unassuming prince of the merfolk kingdom of Emcayo. He went incognito-ish to investigate the mysterious affliction of its neighboring city, Arvania, where he first encountered the players’ party. They only realized he was a prince when they encountered the villain, who recognized him.

Lachlan is unusually approachable for royalty, not because he’s particularly friendly, but because he’s slightly awkward and gives off the vibe of “just some guy.” Though his first impression lacks impact, he makes up for it with his love for the citizens of Emcayo, even if it puts him at odds with his father’s more traditional idea of rule. He demonstrates surprising bravery and dedication to his people, and is well-loved by civilians to an overly-familiar degree—to the point where no one calls him by any honorific, even among the royal guard. Random middle-aged aunties love to dote on him for some reason.

Voted by one friend as “the NPC I consider most to be our fifth party member.”

Starting Artfight references for this year! This is Cody, an NPC from the Fabula Ultima game I run for friends. He doesn't look like it, but he's a practicing necromancer.

The only culinarian posted in the small outpost in the cold far north town of Stalhart, apart from the branch head. He is awkward and quiet, and has very little presence, so people tend to forget about him (including his own boss and the players’ adventuring party). This somehow turns to his advantage when an army from L’ua attacks the town, and he manages to slip away without notice.

His brand of necromancy involves forming his two familiars, Chalco and Hwalco, from jars of combined ash from several monsters, which he carries around. Though people seem to react with horror when he reveals that he’s a necromancer, please know that he is properly licensed. Misinformation about the ethics of necromancy perpetuated by illegal practitioners has got to stop!

Hei was Xave's original main inspo when I first invented him over a decade ago. I've been rewatching Darker than Black on and off since I realized, and I think it still applies. He has this specific brand of gap moe 🤔 Similar reasoning for Sid!

Specifically NEO!Neku who is no longer mean and has matured but the result is that he gives a kinda subdued, depressed vibe 😭

I can't remember like 85% of the character names in Dorohedoro so know that I had to Google something like "guy from dorohedoro whose spit kills people" 😭 That just really stuck with me lmao like seriously, bro can't even smile? Give him a break...he's just a little guy... 😔

Gero for being an efficient killing machine who should really just be a wifeguy or something instead. Also for being a sweets enjoyer in a way that is a bit specific and slightly weird

Long story but basically a power that was meant to damage the sin, a cloth doll, also exploded everyone's clothes 😭 Merem then used her power to reassemble Xave's shirt which is cute but also so funny to me. Like she had to spend resources for this
