When Tom Hardy Made My Dream Come True

Some people celebrate wedding anniversaries. I celebrate the anniversary of when I (and @baneslashes ) got to meet Tom Hardy at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. Today is the first anniversary of that fateful, cold, blustery day on the streets of Toronto, outside the TIFF building where press conferences are held. I had traveled alone five hours from Michigan to get to Toronto. It was well worth the trip. Here are some pictures to commemorate that wonderful day when a soft brown bear made my dream come true.

Amidst the jostle and crush of fans and autograph hounds at the barriers, I asked Tom for a selfie and congratulated him on his soon-to-be-born baby. He seemed surprised and touched by my remark, and he thanked me so sweetly. I took this blurry picture with my camera, and then he asked if I wanted a second picture! I couldn’t even answer because I was so shocked that he would offer such a thing, especially when he had soooo many people waiting for their turn with him in the cold, damp weather. He took my camera from me, but when he went to snap the pic , he accidentally turned off the screen (you can see his reaction in the pic below), so I rushed to fix it (below).

By then I was worried he would have to move on. But not Tommy. :D

He took the camera back, still as patient as if he and I were the only ones there. 

And he took took this picture of us (below).

I wish I didn’t look like such a twat, but because of the horrible weather I had my hair pulled back and had been wearing two hoods prior to the pictures, so my hair was dreadful. :( And my brother later said I looked like a deer in the headlights. Hey, can you blame me? I’m just glad I didn’t swoon.

You can see how Tom’s security was protecting him (and I like to think me; LOL) from the aggressive autograph hounds. @baneslashes is behind me in red, under the tree with her camera. 

I’ll always cherish this moment and be grateful for Tom’s time spent with me and so many other fans that day. It takes a lot of patience and generosity for someone to do what he did.
