You know what? I haven’t gone full on nuclear in a while. Let’s do this.
I don’t care about your rights because they’re mine too and if I’m ready to give them up maybe you should pull your head out your ass and look around…
So since you don’t value your rights, others shouldn’t either? That’s a pretty weak reason to give up constitutional rights.
… because guns dont fucking help, regardless of the shooter.
Well, that’s where you are wrong.
By pushing this argument, your are ignoring a very crucial piece of information: Guns help protect innocent lives FAR MORE OFTEN than they help to harm innocent lives. There are literally hundreds of thousands of defensive gun uses in this country alone every single year.

Quite simply put, guns save innocent lives. And they do so far more often than they hurt them. When guns are harming more innocent lives than they are protecting, it could be argued that it might make sense to further limit guns.
But for now, it’s not even close.
Our forefathers weren’t talking about AK47s, AR15s, M1911s, or semi automatics.
It seems that you are suggesting that the founding fathers could not envision pistols, repeating firearms, or guns with high rates of fire when the 2nd Amendment was written and that is utter bullshit.
As for firearms, there were plenty of repeating and large capacity rapid firing guns at the time. And considering the intelligence of the Founding Fathers as statesmen, inventors, gunsmiths, armorers, generals, and the like, its safe to assume they knew how things were evolving especially when you consider the advancements made in everything around them from their birth to their deaths and the times before them.
The existence of these guns and weapon systems prove that the concept of advanced weapons with large capacity and fire rate was possible and already a reality.
Lorenzoni “Cookson” Flintlock Repeater
It is also funny that you make this argument on social media using the internet. You know… Two more things that weren’t around when the 1st Amendment was written.
Besides, if we banned these guns in the first place you wouldn’t need a fucking pistol or what have you to protect yourself.
Man, you just keep swinging and missing. Wrong again, friend.
According to the FBI, less than 350 people are killed annually in America with all rifles. Not just those scary so called “assault rifles”. ALL RIFLES. This includes Pa-Pa’s old hunting rifles as well. In a nation of 324 MILLION people, this mean that so called “assault rifles” are killing less than 0.0001% of the people in America.
According to the CDC, you over 20x more likely to be killed by drowning than by an AR-15. Should we also ban water?
According to the CDC, you are more likely to die by tripping and falling than by a gun of any kind. Should we also ban walking?
All guns with magazines over 15 should be ban.
I keep hearing people say that we won’t try gun control simply because gun owners are ignorant and love their guns more than human life.
The fact is, WE HAVE TRIED STRICT NATIONAL GUN CONTROL.
Does the year 1994 or the name Clinton ring a bell to anyone? Anyone?
From 1994 - 2004, there were strict national gun control laws in place in America. They included most of the laws that are being proposed now. An “assault weapons” ban. Magazine capacity limits. All of that.
IT WAS A COMPLETE FAILURE.
Multiple reports, independent studies, and government agencies all came to the same conclusion that this decade long nation wide ban did absolutely nothing to reduce violent crime, gun violence, gun murder, murder, suicide, gang violence, or even gun ownership rates. It flat out failed.
Guns and ammo kept in separate safes.
Please tell me how you will reinforce this realistically without infringing on 4th and 5th Amendment rights. I’d love to hear it.
The process to get a gun should be run like a drivers liscense and take months, multiple classes, money out the ass and hours of practice all while an extensive background check is taking place.
Several states and cities already have these measures in place and have had them for a while now. Areas such as New York, New Jersey, Washington DC and son on. Oddly enough, these are parts of the country that have some of the highest gun crime. Funny. It’s almost as if it DOESN’T WORK.
Criminals do not care about these legal loopholes. Only people that follow laws will follow this protocol.
Furthermore, these policies are also racist and classist as they will effect marginalized lower income citizens the most.
Pepper spray, defensive classes, and other non lethal forms of action should be spread to the masses.
They already are. There are huge markets already in place for these types of products. Good job. You did it.
Gun danger and awareness should be everywhere, profiling for gun totters should be common, and concealed carry should be nonexistant and punishable by jail time.
Luckily for us, that is your highly dangerous and ignorant opinion. An opinion that means nothing in the real world.
I like guns. They’re fun to shoot at targets and occasionally, when I’m feeling spry, I’ll hunt what I’m legally allowed and use all of it.
Oh. We’re talking to a Fudd. It all makes sense now.
No matter you say, no matter what argument you make, you won’t change my mind when we could stop the next Columbine or Sandy Hook or Pulse.
Oh. An extremely ignorant Fudd at that.
What specific laws would have prevented these events? Even our own president has been forced to admit that nothing he has proposed would have done dick to stop these events and nothing you have suggested would have stopped them either.
But that’s the only time guns are okay – when they aren’t aimed at people and held by overzealous freedom fighters who think they’re ‘making America great again’ by filling a crowd of people with holes.
Are we going to address the fact that the shooters in the worst mass shootings in American history were Democrats ooorrr… Nah?
What are describing are deranged individuals and not typical responsible gun owners. There are nearly a hundred million gun owners in America and well over 370 MILLION legally owned guns. If we were really all as crazy as you paint us out to be, don’t you think maybe there would be much more carnage out there than there is?
Instead, America is at a 30 year low when it comes to murder and violent crime rates. But I’m sure you don’t want to talk about that.
And if you’re only answer is ‘how will laws change things?’ or ‘don’t like it, get out’ than obviously you haven’t seen Australia, Britian, or Japan.
Oh, but we have. Quite simply, gun control has failed in Australia.
We see the same trend of failure in Britain.
In Japan, the total murder rate is almost 1 per 100,000. In the U.S., there are about 3.2 murders per 100,000 people each year by weapons other than firearms. This means that even if firearms in the U.S. could be eliminated, the U.S. would still have three times the murder rate of the Japanese. So the comparison is a bit null and void, isn’t it?
