“i don’t want to assume, but we’ve definitely all had our drunken mistakes, and i know i was never smart enough to bring myself to an er, so he has that going for him,” she chuckled softly, nodding at his question. she had already finished her handoffs, logging off her computer. “listen, i’ve been looking forward to pizza since i ate a salad at lunch and regretted only bringing a salad.”
"Very good point," he agreed with a small laugh, hospitals having not been a thing back in England in the time period he had come from - the only ones being practical unsanitary bloodbaths for patients. "You only had a salad? You poor thing" he joked, "c'mon, you should be done now right?"
" i figured that my eyes would give me away , " edward replies with a small hint of a smile. they're the same golden color that he's had for the majority of his existence , thanks to carlisle's guidance. " you already know my creator though , " he continues after quick hesitance. he'd be a lot less willing to reveal the situation if this were just about anyone else. however , carlisle is likely the most equipped to handle this sort of sudden information. " since you're him. "
"I haven't met another of my kind since I arrived here so I didn't put it together, to be honest," he said, having only seen red-eyed vampires back in England before he became one himself. At the mention of knowing his creator, Carlisle was going to say something when he was swiftly interrupted with the news that he was, in fact, this kid's creator. "Impossible," he laughed breathlessly, "I've been a vampire for 4 years and I haven't turned anyone yet"
starter for @regxlty | carlisle
"Jeez Louise! What a leaker, am I right?" Working in a hospital had always been messy business... that was what Cletus liked about the whole thing. "Must'a been some kinda massacre, with this much. Or were they just some kinda hemo-philiac? You know—them people that bleed too damn much." He grinned. As if there was any such thing as too much. "Don't you worry, doc. I'll get it cleaned up in time fer the next one."
"They ripped an artery," he said with, looking down at the chart for a moment before looking back up at the other. For some reason, despite only being a vampire for 4 years, the smell of blood didn't seem to affect him like he thought it would. Maybe he just got lucky? "You're fine," he said with a raised hand, "you need a hand? I have some time to spare"
Robby had absolutely no idea how old Carlisle truly was, or anything about his vampire nature. He was quite fond of his younger co-worker, he enjoyed working with him. "I'm alright, I actually got some sleep last night. Wind was perfect this morning for my motorcycle ride in."
He wasn't going to correct the other, despite technically being hundreds of years old he only had memories of the past 27 years of life which included his years as a vampire so he wasn't really wrong to treat him like a child. "Never did understand how to ride one of those" he smirked, "you'll have to show me one of these days"
"yes. husband." though in that moment she could only imagine how that must have sounded to him. yet even still esme was desperate to have her husband back and looking at her with the love she knew he had. "no. i don't. you are carlisle cullen yes?" she questioned. "i'm esme cullen."
He could see she wasn't lying but he had no clue who this person was. But, he wasn't going to deny the feeling of longing he felt for her - as if this was his person and his only. "Okay, let's say we're married," he sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose, "why wouldn't I even remember you? I mean I've been hear nearly 4 years and would've thought I knew I had a wife"
" yeah , it's definitely more paperwork & waiting around than i had expected , " morgan responds. " i do independent cases & investigations with law firms , but i do work with the department sometimes too. my name's morgan gillory , by the way. i don't mind doing a little shameless promo , so you should look for me the next time you need an assist. "
"Jo Harvelle," she replied with a soft smile before nodding, "yeah we can totally exchange numbers and go from there. I am not smart enough to know how to handle every case and could definitely use a second pair of eyes on them" she chuckled
Olivia titled her head to the side. "Oh really? Well, I like to think I'm logical, although I definitely like the dream part of life to. I find it interesting to learn about the human mind and how people think." She told her. "Where I come from, I don't think I would have ever been able to study it like this."
"Really?" she asked, figuring the two were in the same boat in a way - Jo too inwrapped with hunting to focus on schooling or even another career - which probably wasn't good long term but she was young - what did she care? "Where're you from?"
"Trust me, I don't mind. I wouldn't have offered otherwise." Hughie shrugged, taking a closer look at her computer. "What seems to be the issue?" More likely than not it would be a 'turn it off and then on again' issue.
"You are a god send," she said as she pushed the laptop over to him. "The stupid thing is fully charged and then out of nowhere it just turns off out of nowhere," she sighed. "I'm thinking it might just be too old for its own good but if you can figure something else out then I'll let you at it"
“How viral do you think that would go?” Ruby asked, a small teasing smile on her lips.
“I get that, though. Missing someone.” Her expression softened, glancing over at Jo. “I miss my granny just about every day. It hits at the most random times, you know? I could just be doing laundry and suddenly it’s like I can feel her next to me, telling me I’m folding the towels wrong like she used to.”
Ruby let out a quiet laugh. “She was very particular about towels.”
"With how things go in this city? I doubt it'll break 200 views," she snorted, though the thought of being caught crying on camera was something she really didn't need for herself.
"Usually I'm able to ignore it but there are certain times where I'm like 'what would mom say' and realize she's not here" she sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I can see that, and towels should be folded a specific way in my opinion" she snorted
@regxlty --- carter and jo
"why does everyone keep saying that i look like i'm in a bad mood? i'm not in a bad mood." it was funny how the words rolled rough off of carter's tongue as he sat there with a scowl. it was clear he was a terrible liar; the agitation radiated off of him. "i'm just wonderful."
"You know it sounds like you're trying to convince yourself that you're in a good mood which is making it pretty clear that you are not, in fact, in a good mood," she said with a small sigh. "Listen, I'll be a good person for a change - penny for your thought?"
Citlalli looked up from her grimoire, and couldn't help but smile at the other woman. It had been a while since she'd seen someone so excited and amazed by the flowers. It was sweet. "That one is called Hummingbird Sage." She responds to the girl's question. "It's native to my home."
"Really?" she asked with widened eyes as she turned her attention to the other. "Do you know anymore flowers here? I'm still getting used to this place and don't know much so anything I can learn would be useful"
"Unfortunately, his boss told him that he doesnae like his accent. He forces Brian to speak with an American accent." Ellen said with a sigh. She supposed some people here might find it hard to understand them, but they shouldn't be forced to change their whole speech just to appease others. "I told him his boss is cruel, and he should quit... but Brian is stubborn." She shrugged.
"Oh that's stupid!" she exclaimed, "bloody idiots, I think that's illegal in a way but I'm not entirely sure," she said, having not learned the politics of this world fully yet but it didn't sound legal to her. "No he should definitely report whoever is telling him this because that just sounds wrong in so many ways"
cassie knew the stress of having a high medical related bill so she did sympathize with the guy. she nodded in agreement, "i get it. hopefully he qualifies for some sort of financial help - which feels really cynical to say out loud," she admitted, staying silent for a moment before answering him. "i'd love some company - pizza is perfect friend food."
"He probably will, he doesn't look like the type to frequent ER's - probably just a drunken mistake," he shrugged, looking back at the room once more before turning his attention to his watch and nodding. "Looks like our shifts are over so whenever you're ready?"
"It's nice to meet you, Carlisle. I'm Jane." She responded with a smile. "When did you move here? I've been here for a few months myself."
"Likewise," he smiled with a small bow, gestures of his human life still somewhat evident in how he interacted with others. "Oh around 4 years ago," he nodded, "it was more so that I just woke up and appeared here, if I'm being quite honest with you"
another of them not having their memories. alec's brows raised ❝ a few times. i barely know you, but i do know of the name cullen ❞ he said ❝ i'm alec, some call us the volturi's, by us i mean my family ❞
Volturi, the name rang a bell but he was unsure of where he had heard it before, if ever. "I'm guessing it's a rather large coven?" he asked, assuming that to be the case but he didn't want to come across rude. "What other Cullen have you met?" he asked, wondering if his own father was turned which seemed implausible due to his father's hatred for vampires
" not by birth , no , " edward admits. " i was a masen. i took on the name cullen , after my creator , when i was turned a century ago. " the name helped with playing family to outsiders when they moved around , but it's an important part of him now. he couldn't imagine still going solely by his initial name , even though it is the only thing left tying him to his human life. " there are actually several of us here. "
"You're one too," he breathed, this version of Carlisle having never met another vampire before - the only one he vaguely remembered was the one who turned him but even then it was only out of spite for who Carlisle was that he was turned, for no other reason other than that. "Who is your creator? I'd love to meet them"
