6. What's your go-to way for sneaking vegetables into your diet?
Do I sneak? I don't actually know. Like, it's not always (or even typically) disguising them; they're a part of the stuff I make. I do a fair number of stir-fries because it's an easy and flavorful way to put vegetables on a plate. When I grill, I throw on peppers or zucchini along with the protein. My kids love soup, and their favorite I make has kale in the name. Or in the summer they like salads with chicken on them. Keeps things easy.
I guess that's the actual answer: I have kids, and so I want to teach by example the importance of eating well-rounded, so I feel obliged to make sure there's at least one vegetable in every meal. When they go on trips with mom I eat like an animal (bowls of meat or beans with some sauce on, adult kibble style).
7. How many times in your life have you moved?
Parents' first apartment to their first house, age 2
Parents (mom and stepdad this time) bought a bigger house, same city, age 19
Year working in Japan, age 22
Came back and moved in with my fiancee, age 23
Moved together (married now) to Orlando, age 27
Moved as a family (with one kid) to Las Cruces, age 31
Moved as a family (two kids now) back to hometown, age 34
Moved into our current house, same city, age 36
So not as much as I thought. But I also didn't count the three college dorms I lived in, because I didn't have to move out of my parents' house for that — I just had to take stuff to campus. (I'm still counting Japan, even though my parents kept my room while I was there, because college was in the same city where they lived and Japan was, like, not.)
