There is a bit of a link there, since we translate the phrase into English as Mandate of Heaven because early Christian missionaries did not have any way of translating the phrase to their European languages. The “Heaven” referred to in the phrase does not really match up historically to how Europeans considered the term, but they did not have a concise way to translate the nebulous spiritual realm where ancestor spirits resided so they defaulted to the Christian afterlife.

There were also attempts to find a way to read the Chinese government as Christian simply because they were way more successful than the missionaries expected a “Pagan” empire could be, but that kind of came later.

There’s also the Tiaping Heavenly Kingdom, a pseudo-Christian theocracy that existed in the region and did believe it to be the Mandate of Christian Heaven Where Christian God Lives With Christian Angels, but that came MUCH MUCH later.

I actually helped catcg a swarm today!!! i didnt get pictures of the brood or anything bwcause it is excatly as difficult as you think to take photos with bee gloves on. thank you for this so much

this is her! this is actually my first ever pin. i’ve wanted to get into pinning for awhile but i just personally don’t like the catch and kill method. it’s crazy how well preserved this one is for being found already dead.

ALSO being a beekeeper is so cool!! i’m really interested in small scale farming, and bees seem really interesting to me as a agricultural animal. i’ve heard about and known people who have trouble with colony death, so i don’t know if i’d ever try it for myself.
