searching "ariana grande air conditioner" got me this reddit post with a screenshot in which a texas venue told a twitter user her production asked for the a/c to be cut

i also found this article talking about how she had them cut the a/c on the set of the voice the day before her wicked audition so the cold/dry air wouldn't affect her vocal cords and framing this as an act of dedication even as it also acknowledges other people were noticing the heat. so it's a longstanding pattern at minimum
