Just watched the S2 finale of The Night Manager.

I was briefly distracted, then looked up at the screen. Pine was sitting in the passenger seat of a car, very dimly lit, and the headrest behind him made him look like he had shoulder length dark hair. My brain went: Wait, WHAT? What is Loki doing in this spy show?

Then I remembered who was playing Pine. Oh, right.

It's funny when people act like Earth was made for humans. Because like, have you seen the Earth? This place was made for saltwater fish.

Yes humans evolved to live here too, but if we're entertaining the idea that an all powerful deity created the earth for any particular species, it's definitely gotta be something from the ocean.

I'm just saying. If you're looking at a place like "who was this made for?" And around 70% of its surface is not habitable, and actively hostile, to your species, then it's a safe bet it's not you.

Tom Hiddleston would be perfect for a Van Gogh biopic and a Hammer Horror revival/homage (he's turning into Peter Cushing).

I have no idea who Peter Cushing is and am not familiar with Hammer Horror, but I did google him and agree that they do look alike!

Weirdly enough my favourite Van Gogh is Benedict Cumberbatch 😀 There is this short Van Gogh semi documentary with him that I adore but I do think Tom would pull it off no doubt! Genuinely would like to see him in more varied roles so I’m all for it!

the San Francisco thing is coming up, so I had a question about what people want out of the event!

in the Toronto one, first I read a chapter, then we had another author sit down with me and ask questions for a bit, and then we sourced questions from the audience.

the San Francisco one will be a little more loosey goosey, because it’s in a wine bar and your ticket gets you a free drink at the bar. my publisher thought I should just wander around drinking and interacting with people, so they didn’t schedule another author to do a Q & A with me, but I wanted to know what you guys want/expect!

(basically if you want something more structured/ more like a show, then we can replicate the Toronto event and I can force my sister to be the person doing a Q & A with me)
