The Sound of Music (1965) dir. Robert Wise
I mean, in some very interesting Technically Correct ways, they didn't actually die? Now, they're very much no longer alive. But the forces involved are such that they didn't get any of the usual cellular processes of death, they simply went from biology to physics in less time than it takes a signal to travel down your optic nerve.
if you go from biology to physics without dying first you don’t go to heaven the uber driver went over this already
People just don’t understand that having people from the other side of the world – India, China – in a movie about how incredibly difficult it is to travel even short distances just makes Odysseus look incompetent and ridiculous.
isn't the point of the Odyssey that it's difficult for Odysseus specifically to travel even short distances, for supernatural reasons? like it only took them a few weeks to reach Troy (after being stuck for a month waiting for the right wind / for Agamemnon to kill his daughter).
like humans reached Hawaii around this time, long ocean voyages were difficult but routine, Odysseus was just uniquely bad at them.
actually that would be a good anthropological gag about human universals like with Shakespeare, trying to perform the Odyssey for Polynesians and they're like I don't follow, was he stupid,
‘Odysseus just had a skill issue with water travel’ wasn’t a take I ever could have anticipated reading when I woke this morning.

WHY DO GUINEA PIGS HAVE SUCH A HUMAN NOSE/MOUTH SLAPPED ON A FUR POTATO WHY DID GOD ALLOW THIS
oh i kind of see what you mean! wait–
guinea pigs have two modes 1) human mouth/nose on a fur potato and 2) toothy gate to hell on a fur potato
ENJOY
THIS IS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE PLEASE MARRY ME
[id: the first two images are guinea pigs with their mouths open just enough to show cute pink tongues as they look at the camera. the next two images are guinea pigs yawning so that most of their faces are obscured by their vertical, oblong mouths with long rectangular teeth. the fifth and last image is a digital illustration in two parts. the first part is labeled 1.) and depicts a brown and white guinea pig whose entire head is replaced by a human mouth and nose. the second half of the illustration is labeled 2.) and depicts the same guinea pig’s round body but the entire head is opened up with a many-toothed round mouth that has flames inside of it and three little mournful ghosts escaping out of its depths. end id]
Why is it that every time I google something like "Are olives poisonous to cats" the top results are always like "Fun fact: Cats are carnivores! This means that they eat meat. There is no reason to include olives in a cat's diet. You should feed your cat cat food, which is dry or wet food especially designed for cats. You can purchase this at a store." like is there a single person alive on the planet who's googled "Are blueberry muffins safe for cats" because they're planning on switching their cat to a muffin-only diet??? No, I'm asking because the little bastard somehow popped open the packet while I was putting away the groceries and dragged one under the couch before I could react and now I need to know if I should call the after-hours vet. "Cats should not eat spaghetti." NO SHIT, SHERLOCK!!!! "Try to keep human food away from cats." i live in a studio apartment with a completely silent and permanently hungry apex predator who has the intelligence of a toddler and the desperate Machiavellian cunning of a creature who spent his formative months on the streets. He can already open doors and he is this 👌 close to learning how to open the microwave. He is stronger than me and covered in knives. So im gonna do my best but for the moment i just need you to tell me whether this yoghurt is going to kill my son y/n
I've been using the pet poison hotline's poison list cause it has a search function. It also tells you whether something is mildly, moderately, or severely toxic which can be very handy! It doesn't contain like everything but it might be a good place to start, it also includes plants for fellow houseplant lovers <3
Explore Pet Poison Helpline®s vast knowledge on poisons by reviewing our pet poison list. Explore our top 10 poison and holiday poison lists
For plants specifically, there’s also a wildly detailed set of posts and listings about toxicity on the old, wonderful, Plants Are the Strangest People blog
i hate it when i cant even write a poem about something because its too obvious. like in the airbnb i was at i guess it used to be a kids room cause you could see the imprint of one little glow in the dark star that had been missed and painted over in landlord white. like that's a poem already what's the point
you get it. you get the themes. i dont have time to do it justice. just look at it its on the ceiling
learning Abt American black history should radicalize people because 80% of it is just "yeah these white people committed hate crimes and mostly got away with it while black families and communities were left in shambles and still haven't had reparations met decades later"
white Americans will teach fabricated black history but remove the other half of it because it quite literally makes them look evil with the amount of murder and displacement they have caused to black communities. they'll teach you a portion of MLK but not the BPP or Tulsa race massacre
"we'll teach you a little bit about Rosa Parks but exclude every other black civil rights leader and activist especially Malcolm x + accomplishments enslaved black people made or their rebellion against their slavers"
"don't ask us what happened to that black neighborhood in 1985"
it's very fucking important to learn about black American history in full detail because they are dead set on erasing and fabricating our trauma filled history. it is detrimental to civil rights as a whole.
I spent almost an entire work shift drawing this tooth-rotting fluff

Most hoard images from Wikipedia.
Found with the rest of the hoard, the handaxe pictured above was probably found either while digging his own hole for the treasure or maybe earlier in a precious bout of hoarding by some Romano-Briton who thought it was cool enough to bury along with all of his coins and Juliane's bracelet, because cool rock. This was absolutely the correct move.
