If you ever hear the phrase "fascism is aesthetics as politics," that's what this post is talking about.

It's not about being tough on crime, because the absolute toughest most brutal measure you could take against "crime" as a social problem is to alleviate poverty, and increase access to education, healthcare and social mobility.

It's about performing "tough on crime" as an aesthetic by enacting violence against a prop, i.e. minorities and the impoverished, who are fetishized and objectified to represent "crime." They are brutalized as punishment for crime, but never with the purpose of alleviating the problem of crime.

This is why a lot of conservatives and other right wingers can get straight up angry when you suggest things like reform or social measures to reduce crime. They don't want crime to be reduced, they want an eternal war against "crime" because it provides an arena for the righteous to demonstrate virtue by brutalizing their enemies.

Boring tired disclaimer: Keep in mind that this is an introductory "drawing" "tutorial" and has some generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People. Which happens to be true for everything in general.

You are heavily encouraged to do your own research because this does not contain everything you should know before making a character with any type of dwarfism.

just a note: you CANNOT go from lossy to lossless or raw youtube doesnt host lossless audio channels. last i checked its 192kbps or 128kbps. so we typically call this method "ripping" as all its doing is separating the audio channel from the visual channel so youll end up with a .WAV file of a 192/128kbps audio channel. which makes the file bigger and doesnt increase audio quality at all

i highly recommend Soulseek :) Soulseek paired with FFmpeg batch converter is godly in terms of building a personal digital library! and both are free! Soulseek is an extremely easy to use p2p file sharing protocol. it has multiple clients for you to choose from (i recommend Nicotine+. but theres also SoulseekQt or slskd), it allows you to search for pretty much anything with filters to narrow down searches. in my experience most people tend to share lossless (.FLAC) or raw (.WAV or .AIFF) instead of lossy (.MP3) (if you desire) this is where FFmpeg batch converter comes in! if you want to save storage space (or for compatibility reasons) you can convert your raw/lossless files to 320kbps .MP3 files. the specific command i use is "-vn -c:a libmp3lame -b:a 320K -ac 2" (this command converts the selected audio to a 320kbps .mp3, stereo, constant bitrate file with no visual channel using the mp3lame library)

Soulseek specific notes: Soulseek has been around for about 25 years. as such it has some rather particular etiquette attached to it. namely "leeching". leeching is when you download files without sharing files of your own. leeching harms the p2p ecosystem so many users will not let you download if you dont have any shared files. please share some files :) many users also dont like when you use all of their bandwidth at once! try to not queue up gigabytes and gigabytes of downloads from the same user all at once. there are some tools to mitigate this on the uploader's side (my upload queue works on round robin instead of FIFO) but typically you want to spread your downloads across multiple users or a longer duration of time some users may have private files. you may have to message them to ask for permission to download from them. i see this a lot from people with an absurdly large amount of shared files (im talkin like 10TiB+). be cordial and dont get offended if they decline your request
