Abusive parents act like it’s soo horrible to accuse them of abuse, it’s so painful for them to handle even the slightest implication that they might have done something abusive or cruel, they always talk like any guilt put on them is a sin and an act of selfishness and cruelty, but at the same time, they push all that guilt, blame, shame, and feeling of being an irredeemable monster, on a child. It’s wrong when done to them, who deserved it, but completely normal to do it to a child, who will be stuck with feelings of self hatred, shame and guilt for the rest of their life. Because of something done to them.

And they will literally use the child’s awareness of how horrible it is to feel guilty of these sins, to make the child feel too sorry for them to place responsibility on them! The parents are somehow not strong enough to carry the weight of their own crimes, but the child has to do it, the child has to gather the strength to feel like a monster in their stead. I’m sick of this hypocrisy. If they aren’t strong enough to carry the weight of their crimes they shouldn’t have done any. Placing such burden on child’s life, on top of all the abuse, is act of cowardice and dishonors them from being a human being. Children aren’t responsible for your cruelty. They’re not responsible for anyone’s.

My take on the friend group AU ideas of Briar Beauty, C. A. Cupid, and Hopper Croakington ii (they're my BrOT3):

- They all wear pink everyday, regardless of what day it is (especially on Wednesdays). - They're the kind of friend group who has sleepovers that involve putting on face masks, watching cheesy romance movies, and singing karaoke. - Hopper is a makeup model for the girls and helps them with trying on outfits. Because of this, he grew some knowledge in fashion and makeup. - Hopper is bisexual and likes Ginger Breadhouse and Dexter Charming. Cupid is pansexual and used to like Dexter, but now likes Blondie Lockes. Briar is a lesbian and dating Cerise Hood. - Briar, Cupid, and Hopper all text eachother memes, even at night when they can't sleep. Briar likes shitposts, Cupid likes love and appreciation memes, and Hopper likes old memes that are Facebook levels of bad. - They all like brioche bread. Briar and Hopper like apple cinnamin, and Cupid likes chocolate marble and vanilla. Briar introduced both of them to brioche bread and they all have their favorites everytime they have a sleepover as snacks. - Hopper is the nerd of the group, Cupid is the baby girl who has probably killed a man with a normal bow-and-arrow in the past (on accident), and Briar is the hot girl who likes to party a lot and is insecure about her future. - Briar has a TikTok account and has Cupid in her videos a lot. Hopper either helps record them or acts like a background character in their videos. - Hopper likes tea, Cupid likes hot coffee with creamer in it, and Briar likes fruit smoothies. - Briar takes the most amount of selfies in the group, Cupid takes a lot of pictures of food, and Hopper takes pictures of places he goes to. - Hopper would have a Twitter and Facebook account, Cupid would have an Instagram and Snapchat account, and Briar would have a TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram account. Hopper would probably only go on an account he made on Instagram to like Briar and Cupid's posts, as well as following them on the app. He'd probably only ocassionally go onto his Instagram account.

New York State is actively saying that disabled people who have been using ventilators prior to covid 19 should be murdered so there ventilators can go to more abled people.  Alabama is trying to exclude intellectually disabled people from consideration of ventilator treatment (despite this not having an impact on likelihood of survival, because intellectually disabled people are among the most stigmatized).

The US is flat out enacting eugenics right now. And government agencies are spouting empty words while refusing to act to stop it.

Listen, my parents installed a lock on my door so I could lock everyone out of my room if I wanted to at sometime around 8 years old. They had a key of course for safety but they’ve never had to use it and they’ve never used it when they didn’t have to.

I was allowed full access to any books, movies, and internet I wanted fully informed about our family beliefs and practices but I was given no supervision once I reached about 13 because my parents trusted me to stick to the rules or not as I felt and come to them if there was anything that I had questions about.

As long as I said where I was going, who I was with, and when I was going to be back and then phone if anything changed I was allowed to do pretty much as I pleased from 13 onward.

I moved back in with my parents after university and the first conversation we had was my dad telling me that if I felt like they were treating me like a child to please tell them because they had no intention of doing so.

I still live with them and I’m comfortable here as an adult. When I eventually move out again, which I feel no rush to do because I feel respected and given more than enough elbow room, I will probably talk to them often if not everyday. Because they’ve always respected my privacy and my autonomy both physically and emotionally. If you want an independent and fictional child trusting them and giving them their space will do you many more favours than not.

regularly checked our internet browsing history

shut off the internet at regular intervals, including when i needed it for university homework

did monthly checks of our bank statements and would confiscate money if they didn’t approve of our activities

in response, i went behind their backs and opened a new bank account, got a secret job, bought my own groceries, and used the wifi from the school across the street. they didn’t succeed in disciplining me. all they did was force me to distance myself from them.

your children are not your property. they are human beings, and they deserve basic human rights.
