Because we can
My ace friend has been receiving these anons because she includes ace/aro people in the LGBT+ Community. If these death threats aren't proof that she shares the same experiences as the rest of the community then I don't know what is.
A Ghost on the Screen
That moment you saw me
I must have been a ghost.
You raced toward the sound of my voice but
my appearance was a rogue wave,
knocking you down as you fought with your tears.
My excitement spun to remorse.
where did time go?
Between the toil and the mundane,
the haste to free myself,
Realization struck me with a twist of my gut
and I was ice.
I neglected to cultivate you.
Head sunk, hands kneading your eyes
that's what hurt me the most.
All I could do was encourage your tears
because we both deserve them,
because soon I'll be dead even longer.
I'm Shouting If You're Taking Calls
Where the fuck are you?
They say you’ll come when I need you but that sometimes you tell me to wait. They say like a rock you’re steadfast but somehow it’ll change when I pray. They say you have prosperous plans but not if I’m sad, sexy or gay. They say all can enter the kingdom but only a Y chromosome can lead. They say its my heart that should bleed right after they circumcise my dick.
Isn’t it sick how no one looks like you? I tried to but it’s hard when I’ve been lied to. You know what I learned in church? Prejudice and Privilege are a great excuse to shout “Fuck the sick if they don’t repent!” Guilt me out of 10% for gold candelabras because surface is easier than service, because service means sacrifice because sacrifices suffer, but we’re called to suffer because it’s an honor, called to arms in defense of the sufferer. Why can’t you speak for yourself?
These crickets are like locusts devouring all I have sown, and I thought all those seeds were for you, But maybe I’m just selfish.
Why did I write this? Maybe I thought you would listen. Maybe I wanted to see you. Maybe I just wanted to set aside dogma and ask you to show me some love.
Here Again
By: A sad, sad goat.
After half a century of grief I awoke from the nightmares of One-sided infatuation Only to discover that it was I who placed upon us the Shackles of abrupt romance.
Had I not bound us from the start Our lives may have entwined Much more gracefully, But we were both so overwhelmed By such a pledge that we Destroyed ourselves prematurely.
After the gruesome battle we are Where it all began, to pursue our Second chance as two unrelenting Sirens who will never join hands. And here in this mutual tension is Where we both find peace.
MAKE WOMENS CLOTHING PRACTICAL
Unstoppable
by a strong, confident goat
Who am I?
I am brave.
I am bold.
I am confident.
I am strong.
I am loud.
I am brilliant.
I am creative.
I am loved.
I am successful.
I am unafraid of anyone who opposes me mistreats me oppresses me harasses me sexualizes me or thinks they own any part of me.
Because I am unstoppable.
Because,
I am a woman.
The secret of flight lies in the assurance that we are worthy of flying.

The Walls
by a sad, sad goat The walls were dark Those stained planks were the bars of my prison cell Not locking me in But blocking the universe out. Within my black hole you were my supernova, Not a massive flash of colorful light But the explosive death of glimmering hope. It was you But I thought it was the walls. The walls were dark, the windows covered with foam Curtain stapled to the wall, The wall that was my prison cell, Whose planks blocked out the universe. The covered windows haunted me, Whispered promises of confinement, Not holding me in But blocking the rays of life out, So I yell at the walls. The walls were dark, The windows covered, The presence, smothering. The presence, the supernova My violent death of glimmering hope, The lethal meteors you'd throw Shattered and hit me too. It was you, But I thought it was the walls. The walls that shunned the world. The windows that blocked the sun. The presence that suffocates me. The walls were dark. The windows covered. The presence smothering.
The Horizon
waves crashing, neck-deep I swim against the current fighting and kicking desperate to move forward to move anywhere to keep my head above the surface because I never want to be that deep again because if I sink I will never return because the horizon holds so many promises so I keep my eyes on it continue to kick continue to fight just to remain on the boarder between sinking and surviving until the horizon gives what it promised
The most important thing is to love yourself for who you are, to embrace your beauty. Doing my first body positive painting was such a joy because the lovely @runawaysheebs was my canvas!
Ensnared
By: A sad, sad goat.
Why do we raise her To be delicate if, Once she’s a woman, We criticize her for being weak ?
Why do we tell her How gorgeous she is If we will later call her a whore Because her clothes display her beauty?
Why do we read her Love stories, Convince her that romance Is the only place she can find happiness, Then when she goes out in Search of her Prince Charming We inform her just how Desperate and slutty she is?
Why do we force her Into dresses and bows, Show her just how much her Appearance should matter, Yet when she’s grown and Smothered in makeup, Desperately wishing to change her face, We call her fake Because she’s trying to fit our standards?
Why do we condemn our women For falling into the traps we’ve Set for them since birth?
Instead of fragile Why don’t we call her Strong? Why don’t we call her Bold? Why don’t we tell her that she’s Talented Brilliant Honorable Brave Powerful?
Why don’t we tell our girls Everything they’re capable of So they grow up To achieve it?
The Magnificent
by a sad, beautiful goat So what if I have rolls? I jiggle in places that others don't I have to wiggle to fit in my clothes My body is magnificent. So what if I have scars? Etchings in my skin that set me apart Visual tales of adventure thus far My skin is magnificent. So what if I have dread? I fear that my life has all been wasted Each day I fight painful thoughts in my head My mind is magnificent. So what if you're broken like me? We should love that we're thick, scarred and wary Only then will we all be able to see We are magnificent.
The Right to Oppress
by a sad, sad goat
Go on, call her call her Hot call her Sexy Call her out on the street so she knows that you notice
Go on, Notice notice her Curves notice her Eyes Notice her body and assume that you know her
Go on, know her know her Clothes know her Voice Know nothing substantial yet assume that she owes you. Comment on her features like your judgement matters. Insult her appearance when she shows disinterest. Force yourself on her to build back your pride. Harass her into submission As if it’s your birthright
Your work is wonderful. It's such a blessing to see your poems on my dash. I find myself rereading old ones in my free time, and I enjoy every second of it.
That is probably the sweetest thing anyone has told me about my poetry and it warms my heart! Thank you so much!!❤️
Escape
by a sad, sad goat Finally A bed of comfort in this Pit of cacophonic disarray And oceanic chaos Finally A familiar sensation After swimming through My own echoed voice of appraisal
