Buffy the Vampire Slayer | 2x22 - “Becoming, Part Two”
buffy really said ACAB
"#i bear it so they dont have to line #becomes more true for bellamy than for clarke by the end" you are absolutely right
for me it’s true and it has been true from the moment she said it for the first time because as much as I love Clarke, she has this tendancy to leave many things on his shoulders and he takes it because psychologically that is what he does and has been doing since the moment his mother placed his sister in his arms when he was six-he takes the responsibility, he takes the weight.
he’s not selfish. yes he has instances in season 1 where he does stupid and seemingly selfish things but they are all still provoked by the need to stay alive for his sister, to protect her, because she is his responsibility until the major change happens where from one person (Octavia) he comes to care for all of the delinquents and Clarke which is a great transfromation and one of the nicest character arcs he’s had and it happens in just the first season.
so from the moment she leaves him in season 2 she says she bears it alone but does she really?
he stays behind. he takes care of them. he sees them every day and he has to make sure that they’re fine. whatever’s left of them anyway. he has had to deal with their pitiful looks or fearful ones (because he and Monty DID commite genocide too and everyone knows it) and he’s had to bear that weight and keep pushing.
it is because of that that he gathered all the anger, all the guilt, all the feelings he never got to truly express that let it all to boiling up in season 3 where he just refused, he goddamn refused to lose anyone else and play it nice like clarke or kane or finn have always wanted.
then in season 4 she does it again-she says bellamy im dying so you have to take care of everyone and use your head and your heart.
so really who’s bearing the weight here? (again im not shitting on clarke, she DOES bear the weight but i think people undermine what’s happening to him too).
he bears the weight. he lives with the fact that he left her to die and that he has to be rational and use his emotions and his heart because he doesn’t have her anymore so he can LEAD them and take them back home and help them survive FOR years on a goddamn metal can in the sky.
in season 6 he still bears it alongside her-trying to do better for monty but ultimately failing. and he does bear the burden of loving her too much and letting his friends’ lives be endangered because he goes on an entire goddamn crusade to save
her
life.
and i think that is also one of the reasons why he fought so very hard in season 7 to get them to transcendence and to bring them peace. because by that time he bears the burden of taking care of his people absolutely on the same level as clarke if not more because clarke apparently has madi and that’s the most important whilst O is big enough to take care of herself now and no longer his responsibility (as stated in 6x11) , so i think he truly does want all of this for them.
he makes the great transformation as i said from caring about one person to caring for all people and since that transformation happened it has been so until the end.
in season 2 he went in the mountain to save them and committed genocide for them.
then stayed behind to take care of them while she left to deal with it.
then in three he fought for them and HER life and tried to save HEr but she turned her back to him for the allience and he lost MORE people so he took matters in his own hands because he came to realize the truth that is that he is absolutely alone in this and without HER
but by the end of the season she convinced him to join together to defeat ALIE and he did.
in 4 he fights for their lives AND HERS even when she doesn’t want to fight for herself or he for himself as a matter of fact because he’s so guilty after the massacre of season 3 that he doesn’t want to live but he still does want to find a save place for his people.
and then he convinces her that they can’t leave ALL people outside the bunker because it is WRONG.
(he truly comes to realize what clarke apparently hadnt though she was following in lxas footsteps -that they are all people and all worthy of love and life and wars are senseless;
remember he says “war made me a murderer, don’t let this happen to you too” to riley)
then in five he fights for his family and her and madi at first but he struggles with the fact that his sister became a dictator and he just does not want to kill her because she is at the core his biggest responsibility.
in six he fights for clarke though she left him to die and though his sister almost let him be killed in her own fighting pits, but he does it, neglecting his family of 5 years and wanting to do better for monty.
in seven he wants them all to see wha the saw and to believe what he believed and get them
to
PEACE
what they’ve been striving for from season 1. peace. just that. they never wanted war with the grounders, they wanted to get to the sea and live there
IN PEACE
but he is mocked, nobody believes him and then when she kills him they say-welp yeah but it wasn’t bellamy which is the biggest bs of them all.
he bore it.
to the end.
he bore it
when she did stupid senseless things like kill him or smash helmets without ways out of planets or acting irrational and saying transcedence aint real until it happened right before her, or shooting cadogan during the final test and dooming humanity or overall being a complete selfish person in that entire season.
but yeah
she bore it.
so did he.
till the end.
The 12 million dollar payout to Breonna's family meant the cops were guilty. Period. The fact that they were cleared is blatant disregard of her life and her justice. Full stop. Kentucky should raise hell.
I’m really tired of Clexa fans acting like Bellarke shippers are all heterosexual 🙄 the blatant ignorance in your hate posts is disgusting
If this happens to your cat and you’re able to, check out your local shelter (or their page) for newborn kittens! They require 24 hour care that staff can’t provide most of the time so you’re saving them by taking them for your cat to care for or fostering them yourself.
And we end on a hopeful note. Thank you for that reminder
So you expect me to believe that the Clarke we know would have done that?
The Clarke we know refused Bellamy from sneaking into Mt. Weather because “she can’t lose him too,” and kept him safe while he was inside even if it meant the death of her own people. The Clarke we know who begged Roan to not hurt him and agreed to go with him without a complaint. The Clarke who still believed in Bellamy after the genocide of Trikru. The Clarke who wrote down his name on the List. The Clarke who couldn’t pull the trigger on him before, even if it meant potentially killing off the entire human race. The Clarke who damned herself to make sure he survived the apocalypse. The Clarke who called him on the radio for six years. The Clarke who wouldn’t get on the ship until he did. The Clarke who came back to life because of him. The Clarke we know would have killed herself before hurting her bestfriend, her soulmate.
The Clarke we know would have never pulled the trigger for a stupid book that she never took.
They should’ve jusg ended the 100 when Jordan woke Bellamy and Clarke up from cryo and they looked outside the window at their new world and new start.
That’s how it should’ve went.
I watched the episode a day late because of some WiFi issues and obviously I wanted to make a post talking about it (SPOILERS AHEAD) What Jason did to Bellamy Blake, Bob Morley, and honestly this entire show is extremely fucked up. There is no other way to spin this. It makes no sense from a plot or character perspective to have Clarke kill Bellamy. I will always love this show for giving us those first four seasons of Bellarke, beliza, and giving me such an amazing fandom, but this is unforgivable for Jason. Not only did bob and Eliza (and their characters) deserve better but we did too, for supporting this show for seven years. Goodluck with your prequel or anything else you make Jason, because the 100 sure as hell ain’t gonna watch it.
ok final thoughts for me to come to my peace. bellarke is real. it truly is. i know it sounds like clowning but they are together in the books. and they would’ve been together if not for jroth being a fucking toddler and rewriting shit just to spite fans. just the way that shots are framed and where the camera is fixed, the thematic elements and symbols it all was heavily setting up for enemies to lovers.
the death of bellamy was a spit in the face to clarke fans, bellamy fans, EVERYONE. it makes jroth look so incompetent for seemingly useless moments between bellamy and clarke for it to end like this. it is a character assassination of clarke and is the biggest pile of horseshit i’ve ever witnessed. so it doesn’t exist i’m gonna ignore it.
i swear riverdale makes more sense then season 7 has. bob i’m sorry your character was disrespected in this way.
Let’s get something straight - Clarke didn’t kill Bellamy, she murdered him and that’s where the nonsense and character butchery comes in.
Clarke’s reaction to Bellamy being ‘dead’ is about how much she loves him, how much she would miss him. It’s ultimately about Bellamy and how much she wants him alive, not just with her.
Echo’s reaction to Bellamy being ‘dead’ is because she doesn’t know how to function without him, she doesn’t know who she is without him. It’s ultimately about Echo.
And that’s all that should matter for the endgame.
Protesting is a FELONY in Tennessee now…Facism at it’s finest (x)
I’m sorry, but people need to know this. This is LITERALLY the most blatant telltale sign of totalitarianism and this needs to be spread like wildfire. DO NOT LOOK AWAY.
Y'all, I live here, and this is not a fucking joke.
Peaceful protesters had been at the People’s Plaza/Ida B. Wells Plaza for 61 days. The state and the police repeatedly tried to silence them, strip them of their resources, create and enact laws against them, and demonize them. I’ve stood face to face with the cops at this plaza for hours, and the entire time, everyone was peaceful. I’ve been surrounded by cops in riot gear on all four sides with these protesters, and still, everyone was peaceful. No matter what, they remain peaceful. Yet I’ve seen and read so many stories about how these protesters have been arrested on bullshit, made-up charges and have witnessed them be brutalized over and over again. I’ve seen so many people with chipped teeth, lung problems, scars, gashes, head trauma, bruises, sprains and fractures, concussions, and more all because of these pigs. I’ve read stories from protesters about how their experiences at the Plaza have triggered panic attacks, PTSD, psychosis, dissociation, and more and how some had been forcibly medicated/tranquilized by police without their consent. I’ve seen people get robbed of their personal items by these pigs, one cop going so far as to rob a man of his medications that he needed to live. I’ve seen and read about cops ripping masks off protesters and sexually harassing them. I’ve seen the cops speed down the road and almost hit protesters multiple times. I’ve read stories from protesters about how they’d been detained for hours and hours with several other people and without masks or how they, especially Black female protesters, had been detained in solitary for hours. And most of those people required medical attention, which they didn’t receive. A GIRL WITH ASTHMA ALMOST DIED BECAUSE THE COPS RELEASED A GAS SIMILAR TO TEAR GAS NEXT TO HER CELL AND IGNORED HER CRIES FOR HELP AND RESPONDED BY PUTTING HER IN SOLITARY AND TAUNTING HER INSTEAD OF PROVIDING MEDICAL ATTENTION, FFS!!
Over 200 arrests had been made during this 61-day occupation. The state tried to get a judge to allow 24/7 GPS-monitoring of a lead activist of the movement. Officers have kicked, punched, sexually harassed, dragged, hospitalized, tear-gassed, zip-tied, arrested, taunted, and brutalized protesters during this occupation. Protesters have held countless vigils and peaceful marches and have literally put their blood, sweat, and tears into this cause. All we wanted was for the governor to meet with the people to discuss removing Confederate monuments and addressing police violence, and this is what protesters were met with instead. And now they’ve made it illegal for us to even fight against their brutality and for our rights to freely exist while Black and brown.
This is not okay. This is totally and completely unconstitutional. Do not ignore this. Do not let this slip by. Do not let them win. Please help us fight all of this injustice. Our lives matter. Black lives fucking matter.
honestly the best thing i’ve done in the past year was replacing “i wanna die” with “i wanna commit a crime.” same humor and sentiment without the suicidal ideation
thank you SO much for this tag
