So, yesterday in the afternoon I posted a Crona [ from Soul Eater ] and I was further told to take it down by Mode500 on Instagram. I refused until he gave me a logical reason as to why, which he never did. This whole debate ended in me deleting the edit and him posting my comments on his page for his six thousand followers to attack and talk down to me - calling me demeaning and rude names like “kid”, “hun”, and “bitch!” All of which Mode, a man in his late-fourties to fifties, allowed and even insinuated he encouraged when he commented “I would hate to be you right now” on my “; continue.” edit. He allowed people to bash me, okay, but basically saying that I should hate my life on a suicide awareness poster is not okay. Ever.
Note this (as directly quoted from his website) “The original intention for the resources was for them to be used on and for the instagram community (of which I am a part of) and thought I would share them here also. Just instantly add the overlays to your creations by simply placing them over your image. Then set the blending option to your own liking. I would appreciate it very much if you would please credit me link back to http://www.mode500.com tag @/mode500 and use the hashtag #/mode500ols if you do use any of them.”
Now, here I am being put on blast and partronized by grown adults - most of whom have now blocked me when I strongly respected them and their work - about how us “kids” steal their stuff. Most of Mode’s stuff is free and I did tag him. I merely did not do the hashtag because I was unaware of it. This edit had no profanity or indecency so I do not understand the problem other than Mode, and I quote, “does not like it” and “does not wish to be associated with such work.”
