i think i should be allowed to scuttle. i don't like that it's an action not truly afforded to mankind.
"all you ever do is complain" that's not true. I also resent.
and love..........
people who don’t watch horror movies are SO confident that they know everything there is to know about the genre. like it’s okay to not know things. it’s okay if you don’t like friday the 13th or whatever. i promise you don’t need to make an ass out of yourself on the internet about it
horror is an incredibly diverse genre, because there is potential horror in everything. it’s in nature, it’s in architecture and technology, it’s in human relationships, it’s in folklore, the past, the future, the mundane. there are horror movies from all over the world. it is straight up anti-intellectual to pretend that the handful of B slashers you’ve vaguely heard about comprise the totality of what horror has to offer. If you’re just not interested in horror, or if you dislike certain subgenres of horror, then that’s fine, you’re not obligated to like anything at all. but smugly announcing that you don’t like horror because you dislike a handful of VERY specific non-universal tropes is just as stupid as saying that you hate comedy because you don’t like adam sandler movies.
this is what I mean by anti-intellectualism btw
double reblogging to offer my letterboxd list of horror recommendations for the people in the notes asking what they should watch. 75 movies and counting, tons of options, all of them great.
(begging you to get me started) UGH don't get me started.......
whenever i reblog a serious feminist post in the middle of silly things
can we kill Charlie kirk again that would just really cheer me up
where's that native meme that's like "lol you worship the sun lmao" and they respond "ok. the sun is real"
hello i have this
Get-A-Load-Of-This-Guy Cam
I make the same face every time theres some documentary talking like "the ancient Egyptians believed the Nile river was sacred" and i'm like....well yeah? Its kind of like, the only reason their entire society exists? Seems pretty reasonable to me
sorry america but you’ve been really mean. and I don’t want to go to your birthday party in two days
so this post has blown up; turns out a lot of people feel the same way I do. If you're feeling conflicted or upset over 4th of July, I've compiled a list of educational resources and charities, both regarding US and international issues, which you can look into if you'd like. Issues here include humanitarian aid to Gaza, Ukraine, and the Caribbean, as well as reproductive, LGBT, BIPOC, and disability rights in the US.
woke up and saw people were reblogging this again. anyway, yeah. america is still being really mean and I do not want to go to its birthday party today
if you would like to spite the really mean people even more today, consider donating to raices con voz. they're a student-led organization in los angeles, who deliver food and essential supplies to immigrant families who can't leave their homes due to the ICE raids. More information about them here
EDIT: Had to fix the link! please reblog this version instead
another year of not wanting to go to america's birthday party in two days. because it's really mean. so we should help the people that america is being really mean to
in keeping with tradition, here is a link to unicef's fund for emergency health supplies and services for survivors of the venezuela earthquakes.
here is another link for manos in action, an organization that delivers supplies, such as food and childcare items, to latin american immigrants in central florida. I've participated in one of their local food drives; they're great. if you're not local to central florida, you can always donate money.
the other links are still available too, so feel free to check those out!
the fact that people refuse to understand trans women as capable of being victims is not some petty grievance, it is literally the thing that that makes being a trans woman so much more dangerous than being a cis one
Normal groceries like milk or bread or whatever running out is whatever. Just anotha day. But when stuff like salt or cooking oil or rice runs out it feels like You’re supposed to be here for me and you’re leaving. You’re just like everyone else
love how the presence of a red url immediately recontextualizes otherwise innocuous positive posts
Love how someone can be saying the most intersexist, exorsexist and sometimes plain old transphobic shit imaginable and somehow still have a green URL. Shinigami eyes is a disaster. Like is that person red because of actual transphobia or did they just get brigaded by some idiot child and their friends who don't understand that you can't transition to be intersex?
i think maybe you dont know what youre talking about maybe
if you are my mutual i need you to be on some bullshit i dont understand
Majoring in creative writing was a colossal mistake that ruined my life financially artistically socially and spiritually BUT i got to read aloud from My Immortal to a crowd of twenty horrified bystanders for academic credit. So I broke even
The assignment was to bring a story written by someone else and share the first paragraph with the class. Nowhere in the assignment description or the syllabus did it specify that the story had to be good
I don't give an amazing digital fuck
