Okay, I read the chapter, I have things to say
First of, opening with Ume comforting the boy was nice. I notices of the two guys behind Rakta one was wearing a coat and the other one wasn't, so I'm wondering if it's a status/division/specialisation thing.
Rakta kneeling to talk to the kid has my heart, also the cutie pie got a name, Dasha, and he's just confirmed that Bankoku-Gai does take in outsiders when they're from discriminated ethnic groups, so my view that the Dojo takes both abandoned kids from inside and outside the city is likely true.
Regarding this boy's mother, are they implying what I think they're implying 🙁
If they take on people from outside, Bankoku-Gai might be facing an overpopulation issue as well, and clearly there's shady people or groups taking advantage of people's vulnerability, as evidence by the fact that they guy who allowed the boy's family inside and gave them a place and job, is implied to be extorting the mother, likely with the sexual variety of forced work or payment (I hope that's not the case bit I think the implications are pretty clear)
Rakta is so clearly used to children, either the rumours only pertain one part of the RC, have been magnified and altered or are being spread on purpose (mayhaps by these groups exploiting vulnerable people)
RC are good with children, i love that he told the kid to come to them because one of the things they do is feed those who need it, and of course he can bring his sister. You could argue they become RC members in exchange, but that's not the case, we're shown plenty of kids not in the dojo come in for dinner every evening, some also train, but they don't seem to have a regid regime.
They are clearly proud of their tattoos, and the way they explained it reminded me of how safety pins on clothing are used in the punk/alt scene to signal "I'm a safe person, if you need help you can ask me". A lot of them are arm tattoos and easy to hide
Crop top guy has a name, it's Dan! And he's been left in charge of showing the kid the dojo (i wonder if this is an initiative the branch of RC in charge of the dojo took independently and it's causing internal issues?)
The way they all panicked at being left alone with Rakta except Umemiya, XD.
Rakta was definitely covering for them so he would be left alone, i love how they really thought he had mistaken them for janitors and first and then Hiragi was like "okay, maybe not"
The contrast in these panels, putting me on edge
Also, remember Ume is a great judge of character and Rakta always looks like he's about to kill a person (i think that's just both his resting and serious face).
I think he has an idea who they could be and doesn't want anyone else from RC knowing about it.
Anyways, great chapter, I'm thrilled for the next update.
Still no Suo, but I feel like slowly we're being given clues to put together the situation in Bankoku-Gai, which I love.
I just hope our fuckass son will show up again soon
Edit cause I forgot: but I think Ume might have been reminded of Furinen, although they also can't understand what he's telling the kid because he's speaking Hindi most of the time
