Always wondered why skin wrinkles are considered shameful. (I know about the beauty complex telling women to look like children dw dw this is more abstract)
Wrinkles in skin happen over time, right. You can't just Get a permanent crease, they form as skin is stretched over years and as muscles pull at facia which pulls on skin. Bones shift, the skin follows. Fat is gained and lost, the skin follows. Muscle layers on itself, the skin follows.
Your eyes blink every... three-ish seconds? And that creases your eyelids.
You smile again and again and again. The sides of your face fold.
You wear shoes from six months to your deathbed, more or less. Your feet slowly mold to that shape, toes forming ridges on their padding as they are pressed together.
The sun shines on you, your skin rushes to adapt and protect itself.
You get hurt. You heal.
What is dead falls off. Sometimes it layers. Sometimes the skin grows thick, forming callouses as you wear it down and it grows back again and again and again and again and again.
Your whole life is written on your body. It's a tapestry of everything you've experienced and done. You can see the heartache people have suffered, the joy they've felt, all of it.
Scars are markers of life too. Every one says "I lived. I survived what happened. I'm still here. I'm still alive." And it's beautiful. No matter where they came from, you are still here. And they will heal, over time, fading away as the memories drift into the ever-shifting sea of haze that is the back of the mind.
Every human body is the most intricate and beautiful tapestry to me. All that you are has been woven over so many years. It's yours to alter, to re-write, and if you do, don't do it out of shame. You're worth being proud of, even if your weaving isn't what you want it to be just yet. Anyone who wants it to be different for their own reasons is merely afraid of how much more vibrant you will be than them.
You've got time. It's not over yet. You're still alive. Your body keeps record and sings with neural pulses that trigger change after change as you keep growing. As you are, you are more beautiful than the stars. Every scar, every wrinkle, every gathering of melanin and every other little thing. Perfect.

Also yeah, fat is stupid important to have on your body, and the kind you can actually see (subdermal fat) isn't a marker of unhealthiness whatsoever. Rather, it helps regulate temperature, helps produce and manage hormones, it stores energy AND nutrients, it pads out your joints and protects your internals, and idk if yall have ever taken figure drawing classes but the way fat makes the body flow is just superb, and I'm aro-ace so you know it really is aesthetic, for me. Take it from someone who's 98 lbs rn, you really REALLY want body fat. The brain fog and exhaustion and aches and weak joints and constant need for intaking calories and supplements and etc etc is a nightmare. My body doesn't hold onto anything because it straight up cant. Everything tastes better than skinny feels, it wayyy matters more that you get your food groups and listen to your body. (Also theres a reason why the world heavyweight lifters are Wide. Fat is Energy. If people shame you for being fat, please keep that in mind. They've been lied to all their lives by an industry that does way better when people have brainfog and are permanently exhausted and hate themselves.)
For me, listening to myself usually boils down to salty cravings, protein cravings, and sweet cravings. Salty usually means I'm under-stimulated and/or low on carbs, so my brain cant process. Sweet usually means I'm lacking macro nutrients and blood sugar. Usually the latter, due to my supplement cocktail that I down daily. Protein is protein.
If you really cant stand body fat, Don't starve yourself, it'll actually make your body stop using resources and make losing weight god damn impossible, as well as sticking you in starvation mode and making life twice as miserable. Just try and figure out what you're actually hungry for/what you actually need. Alllllways keep an eye on your big ole vitamins. Also calories are just a fancy word for energy, dont let anyone trick you into depriving yourself of Energy Which You Need To Live.
The kind of fat you do want to worry about is actually the kind that is stored around and in your organs, which isn't really visible from the outside. It's blasted hard to find a good study to explain where it ACTUALLY comes from, but it seems like a combination of genes and things you cant digest/use. (See: alcohol) The body struggles to flush it out, so it gets stuffed into fat to keep it from being as much of a problem. Subdermal body fat can be an issue if it starts messing with your circulatory system, but again, that's pretty person-to person.

The way light hits and bounces off fat?? The rolls and creases where flesh gathers and is drawn up and pulled down simultaneously by the internals and gravity both? The magnificent, graceful arches that you can form with deliciously curved strokes? Man. Muscles are pretty and all but Idk. The beauty I've seen from models with a healthy amount of fat (which is more than you think, I guarantee it, though it also varies by person!) is CRAZY. I'm a huuuge sucker for drawing curves, and boy howdy a bit of fat creates the most delicious shapes.
I know some folks think its unhygienic, but unless you like... Cant clean yourself? I dunno. The sweatiest and stinkiest people I've met have Not been the fattest ones. That's all just hygiene and genetics. Be mindful of parts of your body that touch for extended periods of time, bc oil and bacterial will gather there. Which goes for every weight.
God, you are worth the world and worth loving. Inherently. And also because you're you. And your very existence changes the path of time and space for the better and you have undoubtedly made so many people's lives better too, whether you know it or not.

I've been dealing with some health issues (nothing unusual for me, so no worries; also my husband takes care of me the same way Vaughn does here lol), which kept me from posting for a while. Now I'm trying to get back into it 💀
As you can see, I've also been experimenting a bit. I have 0 training in animation, but I've always admired it, so I decided to try animating something small myself. These are some of my older attempts, I've created more since then (you can find them on my Patreon), and I even revisited Hedwig's leg animation to make it smoother and as if she's rushing forward. I still have a lot to learn, but I'm really excited about it!

So funny story actually. One of my friends was hooking up with this girl, they were friends with benefits. She needed a date for some work party so he agreed to go with her. Turns out her dad owns like 3 dental practices and she worked as the business manager for one of them.
Anyway my friend had some not so nice teeth and during dinner the father of his fwb was like “you work where you work, you sleep with him and his teeth look like that? Get him an appointment.”and then bounced. So his fwb made him an appointment at the practice she managed and my friend ended up needing like 3k worth of dental work and his friend with benefits just gave it to him for free.
So that is the story of how my friend not only got sex, but dental out of the friends with benefits deal.

had a dream that there was this new tiktok trend called "scrubbing" where people would take images of fictional characters and put them in images of bathtubs and drag around transparent pngs of soap and brushes with their tiktok art tablets and like liquify tool their hair down to mimic giving them a shower. and people would get into flamewars in the comments of every single video over the types of soap they picked and if the images had decently removed backgrounds and if they got soap in their eyes. and it got onto the news because it turned out everyone doing the trend was doing it compulsively like they physically couldn't stop and each video was a solid few minutes long because they were just collectively obsessively recording themselves fake-showering these fictional characters and arguing about it online
for the record I have never used tiktok and like explicitly in the dream I learned about it secondhand from a discord server so there's that also which is funny I think

truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if she’s sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if she’s perhaps worried she’s a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and that’s enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said she’s here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then she’ll make another one. I said “isn’t it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?” and she just looked at me funny and said “what do you mean? The whole world was here, waiting”. Some people, I tell you.
