15 years old: i was so cringe when i was twelve, i'm super mature now though. i'm a totally different person. i'm basically an adult
18 years old: i was so. (trying to be nicer to myself) fifteen. when i was fifteen. i wasn't an adult even a little back then. i'm an adult now though of course
21 years old: i was so newborn fawn taking its first steps when i was 18. i wasn't an adult at 18 i'm barely even an adult now tbh
23 years old: i was so. hey wait the others have all gone up in increments of three why'd it change
23 years old: because i'm still 23 so i can't speak to that experience yet
23 years old: do you think anything will magically change in the next few months to the point where you can't possibly imagine how you'll feel at 24
23 years old: i mean you never know. anything can happen. they're letting people born in 2002 turn 24, for instance
the mold spores in my house speaking to me telepathically: yeah that's perfect now hit post
They deleted this from the first Toy Story movie and I am so fucking angry that they did that
I think my favorite thing about this is that Woody doesn’t say “Buzz the sun isn’t kidnapped!” he says “the sun being gone isn’t the problem” which does nothing to refute buzz’s theory
They never look at me with the telescope
I have been informed about sun filters

Image transcription:
When I lived in the mountains, I thought the same color meant the same taste. Tangerines oranges and the sun. Citrus.
When I saw my great-grandmother peel a tangerine with her bare hands while men used knives for oranges, she became God. I imagined what she could do with the sun.
End transcription.

The waves crash loudly as the Sea Witch stares at the midday ocean. Her familiar shading her from the sun. Another year, another exchange, she wonders if it’ll be any different.
The waves crash and washes up a floundering creature, scales battered from wear and hair rough and tangled like netting. Scale pale pink and almost translucent, white scales picking the light.
They bring offerings in exchange. Some are as the largest pearls you’ve ever seen and others the smallest bead of glass that catch the light beautifully. Anything they may prove worthy. For The Sea Witch, none of it really matters for her, she doesn’t have use for it, only to see how much it means to the poor sour that wishes to trade their life for a new one.
Weapons she crafted can cut anything, even it means to cut your life and give you a new one, a fresh start. People have heard stories, but those that have experienced it are never, if rarely, heard from again. Perhaps it’s true that they leave everything, even the rumours, behind.
The islanders are aware that creatures try to live among them. Normally, this is fine. But when catches are low and morale is starving, the fisherman don’t see any harm in procuring extra meat for their quota. No one dares to question it. The Witch feels they need to learn just how terrible humans are, no matter how kind they appear. Doesn’t stop the island being known for it prized ‘jellied salmon’.

edit: people are starting to say some "my worst nightmare" or "eeeww no that one is yucky and scary" comments on this like they do on any bug post and id like to say. it's fine if you don't like bugs it's fine if you're scared of bugs but don't put that on MY post clearly talking about how much i like them and how cute i think they are. you can make your own damn post about how much you hate wasps or spiders or whatever. i'm blocking people who make these kinds of comments.

Today I learned franz kafka wrote a short story from the perspective of a dog scientifically studying how the world works except that in this story we're invisible to dogs so he thinks food and toys just mysteriously manifest and he thinks sometimes smaller dogs just start flying around for no reason.
