There should lowkey be more Elia Martell x reader stories. Like, move Rhaegar, I’m stealing your hot wife
My spouse and I just had one of those “wait your brain works HOW?” exchanges, and now I am BURNING TO KNOW HOW IT WORKS FOR OTHER PEOPLE:
Fellow speakers of this feral bastard language (English), rb and tell me in the tags: what is the delineation for you, if any, between evening and night?
Evening for me starts when I notice it’s getting dark outside and it ends when I go to sleep. From then on it’s night
Why are y’all obsessed with pretending that the elves are all supposed to look like women?
On the contrary, I think elven women and elven men definitely differ in appearance. I said feminine, not like a woman. There’s a difference. (For example the Targaryen men in asoiaf, who are also often feminine-coded, but you wouldn’t call them women). But they are literally described as incredibly beautiful creatures. Tolkien gave them long hair and no body hair in canon, which I think you can understand are traits mostly associated with femininity. They’re not supposed to look like men, that’s what I can tell you for sure
I’m kinda glad that there isn’t a Silmarillion movie or series, because if they casted anyone but the most feminine-coded, absolutely beautiful man for Finrod, all the flowers would wither I fear

I’m not defending the Fëanorians, the kinslayings are still their fault, but some Elwing stans are really acting as if a female character having flaws is just inconceivable. Elves have a long record of making terrible decisions, because they failed to foresee how their choices can impact people around them. Now, I do believe the silmarils have some addictive qualities about them and Elwing was probably driven by the desire to keep it regardless of her own opinion on the matter. But M&M didn’t attack out of a sudden either. I think a lot of people forget that they literally asked for the jewel first, with the intention of avoiding bloodshed (because yes, they knew staining their hands with blood wasn’t worth it). Elwing refused to give up the silmaril though. It doesn’t make her at fault for the kinslaying and death of her people, it’s just that she’s not entirely without agency here
Elwing made a choice influenced by her panic and desperation. But yeah, god forbid she’s a complex character. Let her be a little selfish too, it doesn’t automatically make her evil

I just realised I can’t roll r’s anymore😭 My beautifully annoying Polish accent, where are you?
Gods, I love writing characters with powerful mothers. Even if they’re dead, they become the inspiration, the reason to continue forward. She brought you into this world, dude, now you have to make her proud. I love when my OC comes from a powerful bloodline, but the boots they can’t really fill belong to their mother. Why should the absent/dead father always play the mentor role? Why shouldn’t it be the sweet, too good for this world mom? Let her be strong! Let her memory and past achievements be the drive to accomplish the impossible. She doesn’t need to be cold or manly or violent. She can be a witch, a genius scientist, a rebellion leader, a strategist or a diplomat. Being a good mother doesn’t define her. It’s just one of the things that makes her so great.
Please read this short culture appreciation post
As a white girl who was raised by a Chinese couple, I decided to share my experience growing up. I love the Chinese culture (I’m biased) and my parents are simply wonderful, but they never neglected to teach me about my own roots. Since I was around 4, when I was adopted, I could easily learn mandarin, but also forget my beautiful native language. My parents, however, made sure that I speak Polish fluently, in case I ever wanted to reconnect with my country. So, even though growing up around East Asians as a blond hair, blue eyed kid was… an interesting experience and many times people immediately assumed I can’t speak mandarin (it’s the language I know the best, but I understand; looks can be deceiving). Still, I love the culture I was raised in as well as the one I was born into. Race never mattered. My parents are and always will be my real ones (even if we’re not really related). They showed me that tradition and family knows no bounds, skin colours or borders. I may have been born in Warsaw, but my heart belongs to Hong Kong where my home is.
Sorry for any grammar mistakes. English is obviously not my first language.
one of the worst feelings in fandom is when the canon version of a character is one of your favorites ever but their fanon interpretation is just something you want to dropkick into a dying star and watch it all go supernova hopefully from close enough that it will obliterate you and your memory of what the fandom did to them in the process

About the lack of diversity in Genshin
Listen, I’m not saying they shouldn’t make more characters of colour in this game, but the reality is tough. Hoyoverse is a Chinese company and as someone whose family members work for the entertainment industry I feel obligated to tell you all something. South East Asian population can be VERY racist towards anyone who isn’t Asian or white. Now, I’m not trying to generalise, but every time a western production features a dark skinned character (who happens to be important to the plot) the Asian entertainment industry asks producers to make that character “more pale”. I wish I was joking, but you have to understand that maybe it’s not Hoyo that’s actually racist. Maybe it’s the audience that Genshin was made for: Asians. Also, once again I’m not saying every Asian is racist. My parents are Asian themselves.
I decided to make an au where Damian becomes Batman after Bruce. However, we all know Batman needs a Robin so I decided to give him one. My OC - Ina - qualifies perfectly for the role. At least that’s what she thinks. Damian himself isn’t so sure about that, but the girl is not about to let it go easily.
