Happy Pride month!! 💜 I'll never forget how horribly the queer community has been treating queer Jews 💜

This very production of Orpheus & Eurydice is now available to stream, free, for the month of June.
i want to do a painting of a tiger taking a bath to put in a bathroom (bathroom-themed bathroom) and to this end i made a little maquette out of clay and i suspect this will scope creep into having both a painting and sculpture of a tiger or perhaps only a sculpture of a tiger. if i do both should they be displayed together or separately
Tiger maquette by the way 🐅
Working on cutting out a large piece of wood to do the painting on, which is a constraint that will either be really fun or really annoying. Maybe both
Wood primed and underpainted and sketch transferred mostly by cutting it out in different chunks and tracing around them. Stripes to be determined. Nobody let me work on this again for at least two weeks
The finished Ms. Tigers
Good news everyone... We finally know why Cassowaries have the Casque (horn like protrusion on the head)
It fluresces in a UV spectrum that they can see, and every Cassowary has a unique pattern like a fingerprint. Shiny dinosaurs!
Cassowaries possess prominent keratinous and bony cranial ornaments, called casques, which have been suggested to function in visual signali

Listen I know that people who make movies are gonna be biased towards movies I just don't think visual media would be Rocky's first choice of human entertainment, even with their workaround to sense the screen.
But also, imagine Grace has been explaining the idea of a "movie marathon" and Rocky is skeptical, because you JUST hold still and watch for that long? You don't work on anything else? But fine fine, earth culture thing, Rocky will try, and they're a couple hours in to FotR when Grace hits them with "okay but in the books--" and Rocky is just. Grace. Grace, there are books question? There is same story in medium that makes more sense question? And Grace is just belatedly like, huh, I guess we do have all of audible dot com here too.
alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3

under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative

46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive

Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)

Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined

Karpov had cemented his position as the world's best player and world champion by the time Garry Kasparov arrived on the scene. In their first match, the World Chess Championship 1984 in Moscow, the first player to win six games would win the match. Karpov built a 4–0 lead after nine games. The next 17 games were drawn, setting a record for world title matches, and it took Karpov until game 27 to gain his fifth win. In game 31, Karpov had a winning position but failed to take advantage and settled for a draw. He lost the next game, after which 14 more draws ensued. Karpov held a solidly winning position in Game 41, but again blundered and had to settle for a draw. After Kasparov won games 47 and 48, FIDE President Florencio Campomanes unilaterally terminated the match, citing the players' health. Karpov is said to have lost 10 kg over the course of the match. The match had lasted an unprecedented five months, with five wins for Karpov, three for Kasparov, and 40 draws.
okay, yeah this is pretty funny
