Today is my Sobriety Anniversary/Birthday. Two years ago was my last time to drink ever. I know over thinking is my deep rooted weakness and combined with alcohol I was killing myself from the inside from anxiety & hurting everyone around me. Honest truth is I started my recovery work in June 2012. First in AA, then Alanon and eventually I added CoDA. Abstinence from alcohol did not fully stick until 10/20/2013. Today I am serene & excited about having 2 years in sobriety & having improved significantly on taking care of myself & letting go of managing other's lives. Overthinking involves expecting, resentment, control, imagining, worrying, doubting, judging, anticipating, judgement, case building..... Serenity for me is peace in my heart, even with fear in background, noise, troubles & hard work to do. I would not be in this anxiety free state of mind if it wasn't for recovery work. I am deeply grateful & I love this life. Love-Donna

Epiphany- My kid came up with a theory explaining a rational reason why I am highly likely to pick my nose every time I drive. She explained that her nose tickles every time we are driving. Wha La! I need to read this often. Thanks for posting it @alan.recovered Today, I made time count with my girls. We brainstormed on a costume to create conjoined twins idea for freak show, dropped big sis to work, washed the car, shared a creative breakfast, played & found treasure at thrift store, text a bunch of friends about our morning, chose succulents at hardware store, fixed our stove, aired up flat tires, made dinner, I grinned ear-to-ear listening to house full of giggles from 4 girls playing as I posted empowerment on Instagram, I spent an hour on self-care and somewhere in there we watched a couple Netflix episodes. It was a very enjoyable day, but not without a puffy cloud of resentment pestering me. I have to remind myself repeatedly to return to acceptance. It is usually a fact that I rarely hear from my partner on the weekends. (insert Acceptance here) She doesn't live near me and fills her hours. (insert Acceptance here) Texting & calling doesn't work like I expect. (insert Acceptance here) If only I weren't so human. Kristin Davis's alcohol battle May 2008|Ruth Doherty In an exclusive interview with Marie Claire, Sex and the City star Kristin Davis has revealed the extent of her struggle with alcoholism. The pretty brunette candidly reveals how she didn't think she would live past 30, and that alcoholism runs in her family. She admitted: 'I really didn't think I would pass 30. I don't know why or whatever, I just didn't. That's a very weird thing to say, I'm sorry. I don't know. Maybe it's because I was drinking so much as a youth. I drank a lot when I was a teenager and I don't drink any more, because that's when I thought, you know, I'm gonna end up a car wreck. I just had a fatalistic view of the whole situation at that point.' Davis went on to reveal that she drank to 'fit in', saying: 'It's very hard to say a simple answer as to why. Alcoholism is a genetically predisposed disease and it does run in my family. I also think I felt like a misfit. I was in the South, everybody was blonde. I just didn't feel like I fitted in. It was sort of my way of fitting.' The star of the new Sex and the City movie says that it wasn't until she started acting that she realised she couldn't indulge both of her passions: the drinking had to go. One of my characteristics is to rarely sit down and read. I read some, stop, write notes and dissect the content. The language in the Big Book has been preserved primarily from the original masterpiece. I get hung up on the language, but have found a solution for me.
