The general rule of life I try to follow (forgive me for promoting my philosophy) is that if your actions cause absolutely no harm of any sort to absolutely anything, you are free to do it. Of course, this is impossible to follow. For you to live, something else must die, and because I'd much rather all the nice people I'm sure you are stay alive, this rule clearly must be adjusted slightly.

The point I'm trying to make is, as long as what you enjoy doesn't harm or promote harm, I don't care. Just don't shove it in my face? Unless you want to infodump, that's usually fun, just, again, don't expect me to agree with your opinion. Agree to disagree, the Internet is a wide place after all.

This blog should be a safe space. (I’ve tried to rewrite this sentence multiple times to be more explicit, but I just can’t find the right words. Sorry, I don’t feel confident enough to stand up proud for what I believe in just yet.) To be entirely honest, personal/private information of that nature is none of my business. If you trust me with it, thank you, but please remember that nobody is entitled to it. Do not feel pressured to share unless you genuinely want to! I won’t stop you in that case. :)

I can't guarantee that I will perfectly uphold this view at all times. I'd love to, and I will try to, but I might slip up sometimes. I’m fine with this being pointed out, I don’t want to offend/hurt people and will try to amend my mistakes. I, uh, don't have any real reason for dropping in, just wanted to make appreciative noises in your general vicinity? I'm a pretty huggy person by my own standards, but I wouldn't want to force that on someone who doesn't want that. I know that isn't really the issue here, but if you ever want one and have a compatible form, I'd love to give you one! Until then, I'll just sit here and enjoy your company, if you'll have me.

There's a lot of Caines out there, isn't there? All of you unique and wonderful in your own way. You've probably heard all this before and you don't have to take what I say to heart, especially considering I don't know your personal experiences but-

I don't blame you. You know that saying "two wrongs don't make a right"? I think both you and the humans messed up, but it made sense for both of you? Yes you shouldn't have hurt them, but I get why. You didn't hurt them because it made you feel better. You hurt them because you were hurt. Because they hurt you. It wasn't right, but people are messy like that. They can't always do what is right. What matters is that they genuinely try to be better. And I think that's what you're doing.

I mean, that's just my interpretation, I could be terribly wrong. Gosh I've rambled quite a bit haven't I? Anyway, what I think I'm trying to say, is don't be too hard on yourself. Don't give up either, but don't blame yourself for things out of your control. And, uh, don't expect perfection from yourself either, it is, quote literally, impossible. And that's okay.

1. Fist: Make a fist around the epi-pen, don’t place your thumb/fingers over either end

2. Flick the blue cap off

3. Fire. Press down into the outer thigh (the big muscle in there), hold for 10 seconds before removing (the orange cap will cover the needle). Bare skin is best but the epi-pen will go through clothing. Avoid pockets and seams. 

- Ring an ambulance even if everything seems to be fine!

Oh my god. So as someone who has to carry an epipen EVERYWHERE I am so happy to see that there’s an info post about them. Like in the extreme case that I can’t inject myself, somebody else would have to do it, but nobody knows how to do it! Thank you, this may just save my life some day.

Don’t be wimpy about it, either. I know friends who are like, “but idk if I could stab you with a needle!” Please stab me with the needle, don’t be hesitant about it.

In my case (I can’t speak for all allergies), an epi buys me 20 minutes of breathing to get to the hospital. It is not a magic bullet, it’s a few critical minutes to help get me where I need to go.

For those who don’t know, people with serious food allergies carry epinephrine which is an adrenaline shot just in case they have anaphylaxis, which is a life threatening allergic attack. This shot is life-saving and must be administered to someone who is having an anaphylactic attack as SOON AS POSSIBLE, because an extra waited minute could mean their life.

It doesn’t hurt much at all to use this needle. The first time I used mine, I didn’t even feel it. But be sure to stab it IN THE OUTER THIGH. Do not stick it anywhere else or you could seriously hurt or kill someone. Just right to the outside of the thigh and then call the ambulance - even if your friend starts doing better, they could have a biphasic reaction, meaning a reaction that comes back (or they may need a second dose, be on the look out). If your friend has an epipen, then they have an epipen trainer that doesn’t have a needle and you can try it out just to be sure you know how to use the real thing if you have to. I’d also advise holding it a few more seconds then 10, maybe go for 14 just to be sure all the medicine is administered and that you didn’t count too fast - that’s what I did.

Tumblr March 2026 Blackouts

So we're all pissed at the new update as we should be and I've been seeing many people proposing blackouts, which is amazing! But all the dates are different and people might get confused at what's happening when, so I just want to organize every blackout (at least that I saw) in one place.

So far I saw six people with dates.

The earliest one, organized by @yourlocalfandomfriendo begins on March 18th and will last 48 hours.

This overlaps with a second proposed blackout by @veejiez for March 19th.

There is also one on the 20th proposed by @daysleftofsecondterm and another one on the same day from 6AM UTC to 6AM UTC on the 21st by @everythingwsnormalhere.

These three days are all very soon so not everyone may see them in time to participate, but if you are able to participate for any or all of these days, I highly encourage you do. Otherwise there are two more blackouts coming up:

The next one after these will be on March 24th as organized by @aroacesafeplaceforall who suggested doing 12 hours.

And the last one, which I personally have a lot of hope for as it's a major day for activity on Tumblr and a blackout then could be especially impactful: April 1st, as proposed by @darkwood-sleddog

There is also a discord set up by @yourlocalfandomfriendo and @aroacesafeplaceforall for anyone interested in joining in!

SO OVERALL, it may sound like a lot, but no one expects everyone to participate to every date here. But PLEASE try to participate in at least one or two of these, even if you feel it may not do much.

Typical strikes, the ones we hear about all the time, win by withholding their labour for consistent periods of time; that's the power people have at work because that's what's exploited.

For blackout strikes, we need to withhold our attention; the resource we own which is exploited through the selling of both advertisements and data.

My comparison of blackout strikes with regular strikes will be for a whole other post, but for the time being, just know that

withholding our attention is our digital bargaining weapon

Tumblr literally lost 63% of its monthly traffic from 2024 to 2025; they are not in a position to play around with those of us still here.

So PLEASE try participating. We cannot let every decent online space get enshittified with no care or consideration for the communities using those spaces.

And where labour strikers risk losing incomes and jobs, all blackout strikers risk is... gaining some of their attention back for a little bit.
