As a Daniel enjoyer, can I just say, the racism is the point. The ableism is the point, the bag on her head as she cried, the student used aggressively, the estranged daughters. This is a boomer monster. Remember how he lectured Lestat's head on having carved out a path for himself? That's boomer talk. You dislike him by design, because he is a bad person and I'd never seen a so thoroughly boomer evil on tv, it's very interesting and timely, you just gotta understand that it's not a blind spot in the writing, it's intentional. Just like it's intentional that Armand torture Louis, and the shockingly evil ugliness of that. The ugliness of incest, of murder, nothing is sanitized.

Marauders early 2000s battle of the bands AU, rivals to lovers all around with wolfstar, partyvan bc they have my heart, jegulus, dorlene, marpanlily

Bands

Valkyries- Riot Grrl activist girl group: Le Tigre, Bratmobile, Bikini Kill

Members- Lily vocals and guitar, Mary bass, Marlene drums

The Marauders (obviously)- punk rock/pop punk: Green Day circa Dookie, Toadies, Harvey Danger (but only Flagpole Sitta)

Members- Sirius vocals and guitar, James drums, Peter bass

Killing Curse- nu metal punk activist group: System of a Down and Rage Against the Machine

Members- (HEAR ME OUT) Evan vocals and bass, Barty child prodigy guitarist, Remus drummer and screaming vocals (I just think they’d have a neat dynamic)

Demented Kiss- gothic and alternative rock with a metal edge: Evanescence, Hole, Kittie

Members- Dorcas vocals and drums, Pandora bass and back up vocals, Regulus guitar

This idea has been floating around my head for days. I think the dynamic between them all would be super fun, plus there’s the potential for Snape to have a band that sucks.

I tried to incorporate different magical references and Demented Kiss is a play on Dementor’s Kiss! I don’t know if I have the writing skills to do this idea justice but i definitely want to try, I’m probably gonna make some posts expanding on this idea

fanfic writing culture is always “two cakes is better than one. the more the merrier. there can ever be enough fics of this character with this prompt!”

There was an Aragorn+Legolas writer I used to read who wrote multiple 20k+ fics in which they went on a little mini-adventure and one of them got injured. They had like. At least ten that followed this exact format, and I fucking loved all of them. I’d finish one and be like, “AGAIN!!!” so like. Two cakes is great but it’s even better when it’s ten cakes by the same writer.
