Sorry I havenāt posted in a while, Iāve been going through a couple of depressive episodes and Iām trying not to easily get so dispirited in these hard times while Iām at home.
Here is my version of Lorna Dane, codename Polaris for the action packed and memorable early 2000s show X Men Evolution.
I decided to make her apart of the New Mutants to develop her own character on the team and starting as a Freshman at Bayville High.
Yes, those are buzz magnets beneath her hands. On her lower left is a lodestone, a mineral that attracts metal similar to a magnet.
She starts off as a very quiet, taciturn, and withdrawn character. With time, sheāll start to become more confident, easygoing, and brave as an X-man. She is also pretty artistic and is often seen with her sketchbook, packet of graphite and charocoal pencils, and regular pencil. She is also taking up knitting. Both hobbies help her stay calm.
1. Her full name is Lorna Saoirse Dane.
2. She lives with her mother Suzanna, who divorced her birth father(we obv know who) and they live in the republic of Ireland. Lorna surprisingly does not have the Irish accent, she speaks with an American one.
3. Her stepfatherās name is Colm.
4. She used to attend an all girls school in Galway for 3 years. Unfortunately her hair color made her target of bullying. When she reached her limit, her mutant power over magnetism manifested and she accidentally hurt a cruel classmate when she first used it, the aftermath of that accident lead to both her and her bully getting expelled.
5. She used to have longer hair, but after an intense event. She morphed a pair of scissors with a small piece of metal and attempted to trim it. Ororo was not having it, and decided to take matters into to her own hands to even out the ends.
I got the pose reference for her from Taco1704 on instagram. Iāve done some of their poses during Covid when I was taking art classes online.
I am going to commit to sketching out all of my pride month art for the rest of the week!
