Soooooo I just spent the last 48 hours having a BREATHTAKING GALAXY BRAIN EPIPHANY about Good Omens Season 2 and feverishly writing a fuckin16,000 word essay about the incredible magic trick that @neil-gaiman pulled off.

Yes, it’s long, but I PROMISE your brains will explode. Do you want to know how magic works? Do you want to know what Metatron’s deal is (I’m like 99% sure of this and it’s EXTREMELY FUCKING GOOD)? Do you want to know about the Mystery of the Vanishing Eccles Cakes and the big fat beautiful clue I found in the opening credits? we’re reading Dracula for one of my book clubs, and I completely forgot that the book starts out as quite an enjoyable travelogue—having just passed the bar exam, Jonathan Harker is essentially on his first real business trip, and keeps making little notes to ask for recipes, or that he’ll share such-and-such about the landscape with Mina.

I also forgot that Jonathan Harker has a Kodak camera (he used it to take pictures of the London estate for Dracula) which leads me to assume that the 21st century version of Jonathan Harker’s journal is actually a series of instagram posts that start getting really, really weird.

This is how I feel about Joshua Trees. They and avocado trees produce fruit meant to be eaten and dispersed by giant ground sloths. Without them, the Joshua Trees' range has shrunk by 90%.

Not only they, but the entire Mojave ecosystem is still struggling to adapt since the loss of ground sloth dung. their chief fertilizer.

Many, many trees and plants in the Americas have widely-spaced, extremely long thorns that do nothing to discourage deer eating their leaves, but would've penetrated the fur of ground sloths and mammoths. Likewise, if you've observed a tree that drops baseball or softball-sized fruit which lies on the ground and rots, like Osage Oranges, which were great for playing catch at my school, chances are they were ground sloth or mammoth chow.

I see alot of headcanons about demons sensing lust as an opposition to angel sensing love.

But

Let me present you an alternative!

Demon sensing negative feelings like hate, despair ... depression , maybe even anger.

"Why" you ask

Lust technically isn't the opposite of love, it's a kind of love I guess. But like I dont feel like it's different enough to make sense.

Sensing negative emotions and being able to spot them, could be very useful for a tempation job. Easier to spot the weak or the more susceptible to get bait

I’ll talk through a few options, but if you’re just looking for a quick flow chart to make a decision, you can use this:

Okay, so my longer answer, after I lay out some groundwork:

Basically, it’s a touch misleading to consider Discworld a series. It’s a setting, and there’s really a handful of series that Pratchett writes, along with a few books that are stand-alone-esque, i.e., even the standalone books might have minor appearances from main characters of a series. So, with that in mind.

My first Discworld book was Guards! Guards!, it starts off the Ankh-Morpork Watch series, and it’s pretty great. That is one of my favorites of the series- I’m also a big fan of Going Postal, which is a series focused on a conman getting forced to work for the Ankh-Morpork city government. Wyrd Sisters is another great starting point- the Lancre Witches series about, uh, witches, but Esme Weatherwax is just… She’s cranky and crafty and I adore her.

If you want something stand-alone, Small Gods is amazing. It’s a satire on religion, and the main character is great. I also really like The Truth, it’s about the first newspaper being established in Ankh-Morpork, the modernization of the city is a fun thread through a lot of things, and this one is really fun.

So. There’s five options to get started on Discworld. If one of them catches your eye, go for it. Or any of the other books in the flow chart would be good places to start in on it, too. Enjoy!

One year after the Apocalypse-That-Wasn't, Crowley and Aziraphale have settled into a new routine: keeping an eye on supernatural happenings in the world and preventing Heaven or Hell from interfering too much with humanity. It's not a bad job - despite occasional rains of fish - and if there are some unspoken things they really ought to talk about, well, they have all the time in the world now to get around to that, right?

At least, until the Archangel Raphael turns up on their doorstep looking for help... and it starts to become clear that the world is changing fast, and so are they.

Or: Crowley and Aziraphale start a detective agency. Shenanigans ensue. Slowburn continues. Apparently, there is plot. I have some thoughts about Heaven, Hell, and humanism. There will be stupid jokes and a healthy sprinkling of angst.

Christmas time truly brings the good cheer and makes you want to throw all your cares away. Even Crowley and Aziraphale, having prevented Armageddon (well, they were there while it was prevented), fall victim to the charm of the holiday season and begin to hope that they might be finally free to create their own future together. Only, such a delightful future does not come as easy as they hoped, once an infamous demon from Hell is sent to Earth with a very specific job. And they have two exact targets in mind.

With the help of some very determined cherubs, and a fan club cast of thousands, there are beings up there who want to help them try.
