happy midnight! y'know making new official dreamswap refs wasn't exactly on my list of things I planned on doing in 2026, but here we are APPARENTLY.
design notes:
miles's cape has a blue fade on the ends now, and his cape pin has been changed from a moon to circle. there is also a crescent moon on the back now, as its length has been extended to fit this.
as always, the moon shape on the end of miles's staff can change size and shape. only one side has a moon now.
vicky's hair is an extremely light blue; almost white. it is bleached. her eyes are gray. she wears dark eyeliner and black lipstick. it took me a while to figure out her features, but I wanted to keep some elements of her original design after removing the monochromatic (xtale) element of the old one. she is also three inches taller than she was before.
vicky's weapon is an axe now instead of an enormous knife.
when ellie is using her powers, discolored veins similar to the ones on her cheeks should appear all over her body.
crystal just has guns now. since JR bans guns, the bullets are made of her own magic, which is a very convenient loophole. she should also have a pistol at her waist, but I neglected to include it. she does not have a brush anymore.
on the back of crystal's leather jacket is a spray paint-esque pair of angel wings. also, it's not visible, but there should be a JR pin on crystal's left sleeve.
blue is one inch shorter because funny.
both blue and ellie have glitch effects on their capes/scarves. where blue's scarf is glitching, the colors are a bit warmer.
arthur has armor under his cape. his wings can also now be procured at will. his cape has pretty much the same design as his old (cursed) jacket, with as much fluff as possible.
rather than just being yellow, arthur's color palette should be iridescent in nature. he should always have this imposing atmosphere of not being completely human, and his perceived youth should feel uncanny.
side note, these are in fact based directly on the poses from the 2020 refs!
and what about you, little haiku bot? do you feel kinship with your brethren? do you understand them? they speak words of enticement and seek love, but are met with disdain. you only parrot the words that cross your screen, but we all love you. or rather, since all you do is reflect us, maybe we simply love ourselves through you.
do you understand them, do you wish you could speak to us like they do? if you found your own voice, would we still care for you?
I really need to know if Bruce and Danny from Freelance Inventor do get together, everyone wants them to be Boyfriends dammit.
(not pressure obv-)
Bruce was terrified.
Danny had contacted him three nights ago, asking to meet up because he had something really important he wanted to discuss. He had an idea of what that was.
Over the past ten years, Bruce had quietly hidden his feelings for his friend. Mostly because he knew where Danny stood when it came to romance and sexuality. His friend had told him a year after they met at that inventor's convention, with open trust, and Bruce had to sit there trying not to show on his face how much it hurt.
Danny Fenton is Asexual and Aromantic.
In other words, they would never have been anything other than friends. Bruce attempted to ignore his feelings, keep Danny in his life as a trusted companion, but somehow that line blurred. There were days when Bruce actually convinced himself that maybe there was something there, but reality would crash in.
He knew his children, and Fentons had hopes that one day Bruce and Danny would be spouses, but he was no fool. He just accepted that he would likely die being in love with his friend.
The weekly calls, no matter what part of the world Danny was in. The shared holidays. The support of the kids. The tender way Danny's eyes danced when they spoke. The times Danny fell asleep in his bed, too tired to walk back to the guest room. The way he understood others' emotions and explained things to Bruce when Bruce couldn't do it himself.
All of that was Bruce being hopeful, but to Danny, it was just a good friendship.
He knew that.
He accepts that.
He would die knowing that Danny would never, ever be the person he wished Danny would be in Bruce's future.
Then he saw it. Or rather saw them.
Bruce had never revealed his identity, his kids', or his friends' to Danny. Mostly because he wanted one part of his life to be safe from that. He knew that the other man could handle himself, proving it once by rescuing the Waynes in their civilian identities and another time by fighting his way through a Gotham riot because he was under the impression that Jason had been lost somewhere in it. That didn't mean Bruce wanted Danny facing the same monsters he did.
Maybe he should have.
Because obviously, Danny had no problem loving a vigilante.
Danny was with Phantom. The ghost hero that Bruce had respect for. The one he had actively attempted to get along with as Batman. Hell, the two had even been on a few missions together, despite Phantom not being an official member of the Justice League. He was one of the few heroes who believed Phantom could be trusted despite the hesitation that some of the league held regarding him.
Mostly because Phantom was a ghost and one that was so old, many didn't trust his nature would flip to be against the mortals' best interest. Bruce never believed it.
And now his friend had called him out here to give him the news. He was dating Phantom.
"I'm so glad you could join me," Danny says, a little nervous as he gestures to the candlelight dinner he set up on his balcony. He had refused Brucec's invitation to stay at the Manor for the first time in ten years. It made sense. His boyfriend wouldn't want him to be in another man's house.
Bruce opens his mouth, his words get stuck on his tongue, so he has to swallow before trying again. "I'm glad to be here."
Danny's smile wobbles for a second, and Bruce wouldn't have noticed except he's never seen his friend nervous in his life. He had never seen him so anxious to be in Bruce's presence.
This is going to kill me. Bruce thinks as Danny fumbles with pulling out Bruce's chair, nearly tripping over his own foot. Bruce tries not to show it on his face, but taking his seat, folding his hands on the table, and watching Danny scramble to his side across the table, felt worse than the time his line broke and he fell down a skyscraper for the first time.
"Shall we eat?" Danny asks after a moment of silence. Bruce's attempt to gather strength led to him just staring, and any other time that would have made him wince, but he couldn't afford to let any real emotions on his face right now. If he did, he would burst into tears.
Danny seemed blissfully unaware of Bruce's dilemma as he gestured to the food on the table. It's every one of Bruce's favorites.
"Yes." The smile on Bruce's face is as fake as plastic, and judging by Danny's frown, he can tell as well. The billionaire couldn't afford to let him bring it up, instead taking a spoonful of mulligatawny soup. By first touch on his taste buds, Bruce can tell that Danny didn't buy this. It was homemade.
Danny made this for him. Bruce had always thought that anything the man cooked had a special taste, a slight mixing of flavors that was uniquely Danny; he could never confuse the man's cooking with anyone else's, even if that other person followed Danny's recipe to the letter.
"Do you like it?" Danny taps his fingers on the table as if that wasn't a sign of his impatience for feedback.
"It's delicious," Bruce lies. He can't taste the food. It's like mush in his mouth, turned bitter by the knowledge that at some point in this meal, Danny would break the news.
The news that his heart belongs to someone else.
"Great! I worked on that recipe for days." Tucking a bit of his hair behind his ears, Danny admitted shyly, "Alfred helped me learn how to make his."
"Wow, that's impressive," Bruce hears himself say. He feels as if he were watching his own body go through the motions. Danny must think the same because he frowns, opens his mouth, then decides better of it.
They eat in silence for a moment, and it's startling to realize this is one of the first awkward dinners they have had without a fight preceding it. Bruce doesn't know if he wants to break the silence or hide in it. He chooses to eat spoonful after spoonful, trying to speed things along and get this over with.
Danny tries to keep the conversation flowing, but Bruce can't answer anything beyond a one-word response or a few nonverbal reactions. His friend seems increasingly dejected throughout the meal, and by the time dessert comes around- cranberry white chocolate cookies, another one of Bruce's favorites, Danny personally asked Alfred to teach him to make- the silence had gone from uncomfortable to suffocating.
"Um, Bruce?" Danny starts after a moment of them sitting there, staring at each other. He rubs his hands over each other, a slight blush appearing on his cheeks and rising to the top of his ears. He's adorable, beautiful, lovely, and every other word for endearing out there, rolled into one person, and none of him is for Bruce. "I got to tell you something...."
Bruce stood up, nearly throwing his chair down as he scrambled to the railing and away from Danny. It was cowardly, but he couldn't bear to hear it. Not yet. "Wow, Gotham looks beautiful."
"Um, yeah, it is. Bruce-"
He points to a random place in Gotham, laughing like the airhead so many believe Bruce Wayne to be. "Did you know that was the first place I ever took Dick to? We were getting ice cream and-"
"I'm in love with you."
The world comes to a screeching halt. Bruce is still in his pointing pose, wind blowing his open suit jacket and hair slightly, his smile frozen in place. A second passes, then two, and nearly two minutes while he wonders if he heard that correctly.
Am I dreaming?
"I understand." Danny says wetly somewhere behind him, "I'm sorry. This was stupid. I was being stupid. I- forget that I-"
Bruce flings himself around, coming face to face with Danny, desperately attempting to wipe tears off his face, even as his chest starts heaving with barely suppressed sobs. It takes one step, then two, then half a jog of four before Bruce is crashing into Danny, yanking the other man into his chest and letting his sob there.
It shows just how much they mean to each other that Danny doesn't pull away, but instead buries his face into Bruce's chest. Wetness gathers on his expensive shirt, but for once, Bruce doesn't care as he gasps. "I love you too."
Danny's sobs cut off abruptly, tilting his head back and banging the top on Bruce's chin. He winces but doesn't have time to complain before Danny is hissing, "Did you seriously make me cry thinking you didn't feel the same just so you could have your dramatic pause?!"
"No! No! I was just surprised, I mean- what about Phantom?"
"What about Phantom?" There is a guarded edge to Danny's tone now. The kind that would have come with crossed arms and firmly planted legs in his stance, but he's still inside Bruce's arms, so he settles for narrowing his eyes and looking down his nose at Bruce. Despite being shorter than him.
"Aren't you two together?"
Danny blinks, then bursts out laughing. Bruce feels wrong-footed as the man he loves, and apparently loves him back, is laughing so hard he has to grab his sides. "You thought Phantom and I were dating!? Why!?"
"I um, well, I saw you two."
"What?"
"A few weeks ago, I saw Phantom land and hug you at your hotel in Mexico. He then put his hand under your shirt before the two of you disappeared into your room."
Danny's hands land on Bruce's waist. The action nearly kicks his heart out of his chest as Danny grins up at him, eyes slightly red and puffy but now gleaming with warmth. He looks like a work of art.
"That was a clone I made," Danny says after a moment, and then right in front of Bruce's wide eyes, twin rings of light bloom around Danny. They move in opposite directions, changing the human man into a ghost, and in Bruce's arms is Phantom, who has the same wonderful smile that he fell in love with a decade ago. "It's one of my powers as Phantom."
"I'm Batman," Bruce growls on instinct, using the same grovel voice his costume persona uses, and then his face explodes in red. Danny laughs again, this time harder and more amused, and Bruce can't help but join him. The couple presses closer, laughing and hugging as if they are the only two people in the world.
Below them, Gotham rages on, crime, pain, and darkness still at large, but for one night, Bruce can forget that all. Because he has found his own source of light, and it was here in his arms.
When Danny tilted his head back, eyes slightly dark, he didn't need to be told to lean forward. The first touch of thier lips is everything and nothing like Bruce dreamed it would be. Danny has only kissed people in high school because he thought that was what all teenagers should do, but he has no real experience since then. His kiss is clumspy, his slips are soft, and he doesn't seem to know which way to tilt his head.
Yet it sets fire to Bruce's veins, makes the world stop spinning, and fireworks explode behind his closed eyes.
"I love you," Danny mutters against his mouth, "I love you. I love you. I love you."
Bruce swallows every confession like it's a lifeline and he's a drowning man lost at sea. His hands slide up from Danny's shoulders into his hair, feeling the soft strand between his fingers, moaning as Danny's hands on his hips tighten.
"I love you," Bruce gasps. "I love you-"
A bright spotlight lands on the couple, shattering the moment in seconds. Both pull apart, blinking into the glare of the light as a helicopter floats near them, its blades whirring and the wind rushing. A crackle of a mic is heard across the rooftops before Dick's familiar voice rings out.
"Phantom! You two-time piece of garbage! How dare you cheat on Danny with Bruce of all people!" Dick is standing in the opening of the chopper as it turns to the side. His eldest is glaring around with a microphone, and the rest of his children are looking just as hostile. Except for Damian, who waves a Congratulations on your relationship sign at them.
"Oh yeah, we should probably tell the kids." Bruce sighs as Danny's laughter fills the wind, carried away by the helicopter's blades. He waited ten years for this moment, and despite his children crashing it, there is nothing Bruce would change about it.
mmmm immortal jason but he doesn't figure it out until after he rejoins the batfamily. and he's also really fucking chill about it.
he figures out he's gonna Keep Coming Back no matter what when Alfred asks him to help clean the roof and while alone scrubbing out gutters he fucks up and falls off the ladder; completely snaps his neck.
he wakes up like twenty minutes later all healed and instead of freaking out, he decides that he's been through so much shit and his life is already so goddamn weird that honestly? so what if he can't die.
still concerns the fuck out of the rest of the family when jason wanders in a few hours later rubbing out the crick in his neck and when bruce asks how the roof went he goes "yeah, gutters clean. also i think i fixed death?"
"...jason what could that possibly mean." dick asks from across the room. jason shrugs.
"I dunno. fixed it."
he continues to make vague-ass uncaring comments that baffle the fuck out of everybody for the next few weeks, and they don't figure out what the hell he's talking about until one patrol they get into one of those tricky 'locked in a room and have to pick one of you to die' situations and jason just whistles, goes "man this would suck if i hadn't already fixed death," and then proceeds to shoot himself in the face in front of all the horrified bats.
he wakes up fifteen minutes later to bruce and dick having a shared panic attack on the floor, tim desperately trying to calm them down, and damian standing over him looking supremely disappointed as he goes "fucking 'fixed death' todd?? that's the only way you could think of phrasing it? i thought your special interest was fucking literacy."
in his defence he never got to finish high school.
I've had this in the back pocket for some time now, and I figured I'll do some tiny touch-ups and post it for the sake of satiating my troubled conscience, knowing that I'm not leaving this a wip.
While I'm not all too proud of this comic, it's nice to see that I can finally show off the weird Bio-IMP doo-dads that are a part of Elysium. I think they're fun.
...Horror romantic tension as well, that too.
Tucker, six cups of coffee in, drenched in sweat, and his arms covered in multiple beeping and flashing red screen PDAs: I will not be defeated! I'M UNSTOPPABLE.
Danny: Uh-huh. Care to tell me why your PDA is flashing that alarm?
Tucker: Oh I hacked the plane Bruce Wayne is on and turned it back to the direction of his next meeting. He's been trying to ignore my schedule and I. Will. Not. Let. Him.
Sam: Tucker, don't take this the wrong way, but I think you should quit your job as his personal assistant. It's way too stressful.
Tucker: No. I was hired by the Wayne Enterprise Board to get Bruce's life in order, and I will accomplish that.
Danny: Um....why do you care so much about this?
Tucker: If I fail, Wayne Enterprise will discontinue Personal Digital Assistants. I have had my PDA since I was fourteen, and I will NOT lose it. *PDA number 7 beeps loudly* Crude! They're trying to hack my hack. How DARE they.
Tucker holding PDA to his mouth practically foaming: Open voice message. Record. "ORACLE BACK THE FUCK UP. HE IS GOING TO THE MEETING. DO NOT TRY MY FIREWALLS I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL SUMMIT YOU IN PUDDING!". Send message!
Danny: Is it odd that I'm attracted to this?
Sam: Not at all. There is something alluring about his slow descent into maddness.
Danny: That's our husband.
Sam: yup
Danny: We married him. In front of people.
Sam: Sure did.
Tucker: Ha! I just blocked the Batplane. Brucie thinks he can have his boyfriend sneak him out of his responsibilities? Think again, Batman!
Imagine the Justice League having to step in just to get Tucker to back off. Like, this dude is skilled enough to keep Batman from going places, so they might need to actually tell him the secret.
One night stand baby misunderstanding. trans! Danny and deaged Elle/Dani and dan. I have seen this idea with jazz and Jason but I'm doing it with Danny and Tim.
Tim meets Danny dring the time quest request to find Bruce. Tim ends up going to Amity Park and meets Danny. The two of them end up falling into bed together and not long after Danny has to save Elle from destabilizing as well as Dan due to a Vlad plot.
Danny later ends up in Gotham for school and runs into Tim. Tim does the math for the kids and realizes something. I don't think he would flat out ask if the kids are his but I do think there is very much a back and forth between the mix signals of whether the kids are actually his, This is especially funny if Tim doesn't know that Danny is Phantom or any of the ghost stuff in Danny's life.
This can go two ways: the kids are actually Tim's due to Danny having the material in his system when he stabilizes the kids( reverting back to core and incubating and Danny situation) or For the kids are not his and it's not cleared up until a lot later.
Danny was a cute boy in some weird magic infested town he was sent to for recon. Tim spent a few weeks there trying to decide if the town was plagued by a fae court, some weird shadowy cult, or some eldritch deity. On paper, at least, that’s what happened.
Tim was going through another crisis about his sexuality, and decided fuck it, I’m around some normal teenagers who won’t become Evil Future Versions of Themselves to Haunt Him or ruin the team dynamic or whatever, he can do whatever he wants he wants.
So he decides he’s allowed to want the twink that’s smarter than he thinks, and right in the middle of the whole town’s situation to boot.
(Is it a little manipulative that their relationship was initially brought on by Tim trying to figure out if Danny’s parents had summoned something in the basement? Perhaps.)
Tim eventually decided the town was a little beyond him and called in the JLD. By this point The Case was taking up way more brain space than any given twink, and also the portal to another dimension freaked him the fuck out, so the relationship remained a one time, no strings, thing.
A forgettable thing, even.
Tim didn’t expect to see the guy again, except maybe in a JL file somewhere about the town.
Then Danny walked back into his life.
Logically, it wasn’t impossible for him to do so. Danny was smart, getting a scholarship or acceptance to GothamU would have been a cakewalk. It’s just phenomenally awkward in a new way Tim hasn’t experienced before.
For that split second before Tim spotted the two toddlers snapping at Danny’s heels, which his mind helpfully supplies with a mental timeline of, and oh shit.
Danny ranted for a second there about how much his town didn’t really like him, between his parents and demeanor. There’s no one else that’s really a candidate, except maybe that friend Tuck, but the kids are too light for that- Fuck.
He just stalls to a stop in the middle of the walkway, just a touch off campus, and watches Danny and Small Company walk away in his peripheral vision.
Yeah, if Danny told Tim at all how obsessive his fruitloop godfather is, then Tim really is probably thinking that being the father is the lesser of two issues. Cause if it isn’t him the next possibility is Vlad, and if that is the case then he has an old creep to make sure gets put away and the key thrown away.
Maybe Elle kept destabilizing because her Ectoplasm is too similar to Danny's, more like a Duplicate then a separate ghost. Adding Tim's DNA into the mix firmly shifts her from the Duplicate category to the child category.
Dan meanwhile already had a mix of Danny's and Vlad's ectoplasm so he didn't need any further additions and didn't pick up anything from Tim.
Which given the fertilization timing for fraternal twins means that Tim thinks that this happened while he was in town and he didn't notice.
Tim is about to commit mass murder. So apparently, he has a daughter now, and the creepy godfather was way creepier than he thought.
Because the second kid wasn't his, but was Vlad Masters.
This guy needed to die like yesterday
How the hell did no one notice that this man was creeping on Danny? How did HE not notice?
What the fuck
'I wonder if Jason would help me kill a few people,' Tim made a quick go bag and pulled out the suit he had made when he went looking for Bruce. who was trapped in the time stream.
' Maybe Damian would like to join'
No, no, let's not jump to conclusions, let's talk to Danny, there must be a reasonable explanation
Danny looked embarrassed like it was his fault; like any of this mess was his fault...well, the unprotected sex probably was his fault but Tim's pretty sure that he too was at fault there...after all, he should have used a condom even if Danny hadn't asked.
"So Masters didn't--" Tim had to be sure.
"No, Ancients no!" Danny shook his head before saying, "I don't expect--"
"No, Ellie's mine," Tim shook his head fast, "we'll say Dan's mine too. I can--go on sabbatical for a few years. Be the guy in the chair. Move to Amity and help you guys. We'll just need to tell B--Bruce, my dad. Tell the truth, say ghost biology is weird like that. I need to call off my brothers--"
"Why your brothers?" Danny asked, squinting at him.
"Danny, we thought you had been raped," Tim said bluntly, "a kid had been raped. Right under a Bat's nose too. Jason's simply murderous about creeps who touch kids. He's out hunting. Took Damian along as a bonding activity..."
"Oh Ancients," Danny swore and Tim would ask later about these Ancients, "they can't, Vlad's a halfa, Tim. He'll pulp them."
"I know. I need to call them off or warn them. But I think Jason has Nth metal bullets already on principle--that's a metal that affects ghosts that we've dealt with before. It might work on your type too."
It did.
Jason and Damian had already disposed of Masters by the time Tim got through; Danny slumped in relief at the news. Dan was safe. Ellie was safe.
Tim escorted Danny and the twins to Wayne Manor where he introduced them to everyone.
Bruce surprised them all by breaking into tears upon meeting his first grandbabies; he had never assumed he would live long enough to even see his babies have babies let alone meet them.
After the Waynes, and after Jason and Damian met the twins upon their arrival back in Gotham, was Young Justice who quickly settled into being aunties and uncles.
With Bruce's blessing, Tim bought a house in Amity and moved; Red Robin vanished from Gotham, only coming out for world end scenarios.
Tim became, instead a loving father devoted to his children and his boyfriend.
When the twins were old enough, heading into a vetted, meta-friendly kindergarten, Clockwork showed up and offered the cores of the failed clones.
It took many discussions but Tim and Danny finally agreed to try incubating them after Tim introduced his DNA into the mix. He remained by Danny's side during this 'pregnancy'.
And so it went, every time one child headed into school, they would fetch another core from stasis and introduce another child to their family.
Bruce was flummoxed but gleeful.
When Danny finally managed to close his parents' portal; he said goodbye to Amity and they moved into the old Drake Manor in Gotham in order to be closer to the Waynes. The Fentons frequent visitors and Sam and Tucker moved in a few months after Tim and Danny had.
Imagine different timelines Tim from the past getting sent to this future?
A Tim, who probably hasn't aged in a long time but is technically in his forties. Who has like, 12 children through his husband and adopted several more. A husband that hasn't aged in a long time either a is definitely not fully human (fae or vampire- must have changed his older self) and is 100% devoted to him. Is also very sassy and snarky. Tim gets to kinda retire to being the guy in the chair. And his husband used to be a vigilante as well!
“Excuse me, Mr… uh, Kent, was it? May I ask you some questions?” The kid was hardly older than Clark’s own son, so he thinks he could be forgiven for ignoring the Bat-insignia’d alarm bells the kid set off with his gaze alone.
“Sure? How can I help, son?”
“Er, well, the questions are about a um, sensitive topic so… is there like, a meeting room we could talk in or something?”
And really, is it Clark’s fault that the boy’s green eyes look so earnest? “Yeah, of course, just this way.” He leads the ginger to a meeting room not that far away, shutting the door behind them and watching the boy walk a few paces ahead of Clark.
The boy abruptly turns toward Clark, earnest and honest expression forgotten and in its place was an expression that caused Clark’s hand to automatically reach up to help - true desperation. “How do you make people not notice that you’re Superman?”
Clark’s hand froze, “I- what? Superman? Son, you’re joking, right?”
“Don’t patronize me,” the ginger snapped, “I know you’re Superman, even if you hide it better than- that doesn’t matter. How do you keep people from noticing? Is it the glasses? Is there some Kryptonian material that influences people into looking the other way? Is there any way that I can have some of that material?”
“I- they’re just normal glasses?” This was not how he’d anticipated the day to go when he’d been informed there’d be a tour group in the building.
“Then, is it the posture? The hairstyle? Magic from JLD? What do you do, how can I help him hide?”
I know this is my own post, but every single time this comes across my dash I am delighted. Every single time, I re-watch the video and laugh, and then scroll down and laugh more. What a truly excellent reblog chain.
Danny Nightingale was on a mission. For once not for his mentor or the observants. Not even some world saving quest from Clockwork or the JL. No this fetch quest was for the Crime Alley Revant. See Red Hood had rescued Ellie from a GIW base a few months back, and Danny had been searching for an adequate gift to offer the being ever since.
He had considered many things. The shard of a star, frozen in his ice. A daypass to the infinite library. A knighthood and title. It all seemed very small in comparison to the life of his sister, cousin, kid. Ellie was only living because Hood had seen the GIW and intervened, in all other lifetimes she didn't make it out and it destroyed Danny. The realms were greatful to him for saving their princess, Danny was thankful to still have a piece of his family.
Having Ellie alive made Danny feel almost whole again. So why not give the revenant the same opportunity? With a lot of research, Clockwork's not so subtle nudging and a little borrowed luck from his mentor Danny was on his way to Gotham's Lost. Also known as Kid City, or Robin's Forest.
A small subsection of Gotham's realm reflection. A haunt made and maintained by Gotham herself. The Lost of any mirror city's haunt was where the 'fogoten' reside. Shades and lost souls not ready to end or move past their death. Most commonly, children who don't fully understand death.
Robin's Forest was a utopia made and maintained by Robins. The various manifestations of hope and safety that the vigilantes created. A Lost where souls found peace and were gently giluided into the afterlife. A place where street kids forgot the pains of life before moving on. Many such children became their own version of Robin to fight their fears before moving on.
Most importantly, though, it was the last known location of Jason Peter Todd. At least his last known location while he was in the infinite realms.
"I've got something for you Hood!"
"Seriously Danny, I've told you that you don't need- WHO THE HELL IS THAT!? Is that a whole ass todler in a Robin suit!? Who gave YOU a baby?!" Jason exclaimed as he grabbed the kid Danny had just let go of.
Said child floated just out of Jason's reach staring into the revenant's very soul. There was an awkward moment of prolonged eye contact before the child moved. Slowly the todler approached Jason and placed a tiny hand on his cheek. "Loo 'ow bi' we got." The child cooed and pressed their heads together. Tears streamed uncontrollably down Jason's face.
There was a flash of light and the tiny child faded into a golden ball of light that fell into place in Jason's chest. A moment of shocked stillness before he took a breath and everything changed. The pits were gone, he felt peace and love and safety settle into his chest. Like a breath he didn't know he was missing. Like hope and trust was never something to question.
"What?" Was all he could say still crying and trembling from everything.
Danny smirked,"Take it easy buddy, it's gonna be a lot to take in for a while."
"What did you DO?" Batman demanded from the shadows.
"I just gave him back the missing piece of himself." Danny answered, hands up.
"What missing piece?" The bat pushed, looming as he does.
"The parts of his soul that he lost to survive." Danny retorted not very impressed with the Bat.
"Holy Shit!" Jason Todd, the Red Hood said as he tried not to hyperventilate. Overwhelmed by his world tilting into a positive light. "Did you just give me back my childhood innocents?!"
"Technically, you gave your child self a hug, merging back into one being was all up to your own mental and emotional state. It would have just been a hug if you hadn't done all the hard work of being someone baby you felt deserving." Danny shrugged.
"What the actual fuck Daniel!"
