You guys ever think about how the prophecy was talking about a "new moon" and how MC's almost-canon-name is "Luna"?
By the way, you guys know what happened on September 3rd? MC got cursed and sent to Darkwick as a result. Incidentally, (assuming Tokyo Debunker's story took place in 2024...) September 3rd would also be a night of new moon. 🌑
Coincidence? Perhaps it is... but!
I know this is a reach but what if the prophecy wasn't only talking about the ghouls but also MC?
There's also how MC got placed in / associated with the old Clementia dorm and Clementia is supposedly the Roman goddess of salvation and mercy.
Ringing any bells?
Kyklos' Ominous Lines
Someone have successfully deciphered what Kyklos said at the beginning of Who Killed Robin? Act II! I'll try to explain as best as I can but please do note that I'm just relaying the information.
Full credit goes to the brilliant mind of Fujino-san on Twitter! You can read/retweet the related post in question here.
First, I want you to see how Kyklos' lines are written in the original Japanese text. I'll also attach the English version for comparison.

dinosaur discourse
I am going to spoil the joke under the cut, but in service of giving some additional context that makes it even funnier:
If you're having trouble telling what the difference is between the two dinos, the joke is that there is virtually no difference, save for a feature we have no actual physical evidence for (unless there's been a big update I missed, we don't have any conclusive evidence of what large therapods were colored like).
This does not stop every paleoart subreddit or twitter/bsky artist following from being full of the most utterly miserable bickering pedants having wildly disproportionate reactions to minor and purely theoretical... I can't even call them arguments. Just different ideas.
Meanwhile, the paleoartists I know from my master's program- the people who are doing the illustrations for real museums like the smithsonian and university teaching materials- are out there having fun and going "How much can I make this Tyrannosaur look like a flamingo? It's not like there's anything to suggest they were NOT bright pink :)"
Hey Gallus, as an Actual paleoartist, what do you think of this?
So my master's is in Botanical Illustration, not Paleontological Illustration, but I did Email this to my profs that would make redditors explode and they offered the following notes:
Overall: The vibes are immaculate, but Probably Not
We have some fossil evidence to suggest juvenile Rexes were downy, but adults were almost certainly not
Especially not like this, because sparrows are floofy because they're little animals that live in temperate climates with cold winters, and T-Rex was a Very Large Animal living in tropical climates. It did not need the insulation.
That's a pose a T-rex could strike but not it's natural habit. The artist has also fudged the proportions a bit, in a very plausible way so always double-check your measurements and reference sources to make sure you're not making stuff up
T-rex would have had no need for flight feathers like depicted on the wings and tail, and it comes from earlier in the evolutionary tree than flighted dinosaurs so it wouldn't have them vestigially either
HOWEVER:
It's extremely valid and compelling to consider how feathering might have radically changed the silhouettes, especially in terms of camouflage and insulation for some of the smaller and midsize dinosaurs
Patterning and cryptic camouflage are also very valid interpretations, even on a giant non-aquatic predator, because a ton of animals are paler on the underside
The little bright cheek puffs are something that might have shown up as skin pigmentation, esp given that Rexes had extremely good vision and probably fairly sociable so communicative coloration would be a very valid and reasonable choice
They think its very cute and funny and they're all emailing this image to each other and printing it to put it on office doors

jo kongoza: the golden oyster mushroom or tamogitake in japanese (or pleurotus citrinopileatus) is a species of gilled fungus. it is native to eastern russia (known as il'mak or ильмак), northern china and japan. (known as tamogitake). outside its natural territory, it also occurs in the wild in yemen, korea and india. the species has naturalised in several african countries and parts of the united states. it is edible with a mild scent and flavour. like other oyster mushrooms, the species is a wood-decay fungus.
mio susuhara: the wine cap stropharaia (or stropharia rugosoannulata) is a species of agaric mushroom in the family strophariaceae. it is found in north america and europe as well as being introduced to australia and new zealand. its specific epithet meaning "wrinkled-ringed" is in reference to the species wrinkled annulus. due to its maxium size of 30cm, it is also colloquially named the godzilla mushroom. some experts believe that it is a great garden companion to corn, which is believed to been historically done in europe. some authors believe it is very tasty, especially sautéeing them in butter or grilling them.
elias pratt: the ashy coral mushroom (or clavulina cinerea) is a species of coral fungus in the family clavulinaceae. it is found in parts of north america and is edible. it can be eaten raw in small amounts, as a cooking ingredient and preserved in oil. im gonna be so honest, i don't rly know why i gave this one to elias. i was trying to find a more interesting looking grey coloured mushroom for him, even though coral mushrooms are arguably suited to shion. anyways, there we go.
shion genkai: the inky cap (or coprinopsis atramentaria) is a species of fungus. the scientific name is derived from latin whereby the word atramentum means ink. it is widespread throughout the northern hemisphere in eurasia, north america, south africa and australia. the mushroom releases a black liquid that was once used as ink. it melts from the outside in. whilst edible, it is poisonous when consumed with alcohol, as it heightens the body's sensitivity to ethanol. this reminds me of the blot from twisted wonderland. shion is often associated with sirens which are mythological and theres something very magical about this species, so thats why i decided to give it to him.
i hope everyone enjoyed my mushroom posting, ill probably post more aesthetic comparisons again soon!! :D

notes: okay basically how this all started was that i was thinking about nicknames i would call the ghouls (similar to towa) and out of interest i looked up aqua coloured mushrooms to see if there was one that reminded me of yuri (pookie). now everyone has a mushroom, thats the story u guys.
yuri isami: the green elfcup (or chlorociboria aeruginascens) is a saprobic species of mushroom. its scientific name is derived from the latin roots aerug- ("blue-green") and ascens ("becoming"). this species has apothecia (cup-shaped ascocarps) that is small in size, hence its common name. this species contains a quinone pigment called xylindein, which was discovered in the 1960s and later confirmed by x-ray crystallography. this compound is responsible for the characteristic bluish-green stain of wood infected by this species, used today in decorative woodworking such as tunbridge ware and parquetry. the use of this wood, known as "green oak", goes back to 15th-century italy, where it was used in intarsia panels made by fra giovanni da veroni. THIS IS SOOOOO YURI U GUYS OMGGGGG
jiro kirisaki: the indigo milk cap (or lactarius indigo) is a species of agaric fungus in the family russulaceae. it is found in parts of north america, mexico, guatemala, costa rica, colombia, southern france, china and india. the "milk" or latex, that oozes when the mushroom tissue is cut or broken is also indigo blue, but slowly turns green upon exposure to air. it is edible and is sold in rural markets in mexico, guatemala and china. as for the taste, it has been described as bitter and peppery with a grainy texture and the blue colour disappearing with cooked. i know its not a perfect match in terms of colour, but i think this mushroom so im giving it to jiro :)

edward hart: the bleeding tooth fungus (or hydnellum peckii) is a fungus in the genus hydnellum of the family bankeraceae. young, moist fruit bodies can "bleed" bright red guttation droplets. the species is found in north america, europe and was also discovered in iran and korea. the fungus is also called "strawberries and cream", the "bleeding hydnellum", the "red-juice tooth", "peck's hydnum" as well the "devil's tooth" and has been likened to "a danish pastry topped with strawberry jam". vampire mushroom.
rui mizuki: the yellowfoot bolete (or harrya chromapes) is a species of bolete fungus in the family boletaceae. the species is found in eastern north america, costa rica, india, taiwan, japan and china. whilst edible, they are popular with insects so are often infested with them. i gave this mushroom to rui as it has both tones from his hair and eyes.
lyca colt: eastern jack-o'lantern mushroom (or omphalotus illudens) is a species of fungus. it is found throughout north america, often on decaying stumps, buried roots or at the base of hardwood trees. it forms a large orange mushroom. however at night, the species gills exhibit a weak green bioluminescence when flesh. this is believed to attract insects which the species can then distribute its spores across a wider area. interestingly, the glowing phenomenon can persist up to 40-50 hours after being picked. i was originally going to give lyca the turkey tail mushroom, but i wasn't satisfied with it. i often associate lyca a lot with halloween as its one of my favourite holidays and i think that the tones seen the picture below exhibit his hair and yellow eyes and dyed ends well. (he has a secret that he tries to hide, iykyk).

subaru kagami: the lilac bonnet (or mycena pura) is a species of mushroom in the family mycenaceae. m. pura is a tiny to medium-sized mushroom widely dispersed across north america that can grow in a variety of hues, frequently with purple undertones especially when young. it has a radish-like scent and produces faint bioluminescence which is visible at night. originally, i was going to give subaru the violet webcap, but decided against it as i thought the colour was a bit harsh for my liking, so i kept looking and found this instead!
haku kusanagi: the green skin-head (or cortinarius austrovenetus) is an inedible gilled fungus. it naturally occurs in tasmania, south eastern and western australia, typically in eucalypt forests or woodlands. initally described as under the huge genus, cortinarius, in 1928, the species is now considered be in the newer genus dermocube. however, it's important to note that this genus is often treated as a subgenus of cortinarius only. why does it match him so perfectly im crying
zenji kotodama: the violet webcap (or cortinarius violaceus) is a fungus in the genus, cortinarius. the dark flesh has a smell reminiscent of cedar wood. these species found across north america, europe and asia. it is listed as endangered in the british isles and is a rare component of subarctic areas of western greenland. they can grow in fairy rings. how cute is that, its so zenji!

taiga hoshibami: octopus stinkhorn or devil's fingers (clathrus archeri, lysurus archeri, anthurus archeri or pseudocolus archeri) is a fungus which has a global distribution. it was first described in tasmania. the young fungus erupts from a suberumpent egg by forming into 4-7 elongated slender arms initially erect and attached at the top. the arms then unfold to reveal a dark-olive spore-containing gleba. in maturity, it smells like putrid flesh and is commonly found in environments with abundant decaying organic matter. this species was likely introduced via wool fabric in supplies for wwi.
romeo scorpius lucci: veiled lady (or phallus indusiatus) is a species of fungus in the family phallaceae, known as stinkhorns. it is found in southern asia, africa, the americas and australia. it features as part of asian cuisine and commerically sold in asian markets. its use dates back to the 7th century ce in china as well as nigerian folklore. the japanese name kinugasatake (衣笠茸 or キヌガサタケ), derived from the word kinugasa, refers to the wide-brimmed hats that featured a hanging silk veil to hide and protect the wearer's face. diva mushroom, this looks like straight out of the met gala.
ritsu shinjo: the blue mycena (or mycena subcaerulea) was previously known as agaricus subcaeruleus up until 1887. these species is a mushroom-forming fungus in the family mycenaceae. i chose this one because it has both grey and blue undertones and it has a nice, delicate build.

haru sagara: the fly agaric / amanita mushroom (or amanita muscaria) is a basidiomycete fungus of the genus amanita. its name may come from its historical use to kill flies or from the effects it causes (a medieval belief held that flies could enter the head and cause madness). it is a widely distributed mushroom native to temperate and boreal forests of the northern hemisphere, now also naturalised in the southern hemisphere. the species appeared in art and lit since the renaissance, becoming iconic in fairy tales and children's books. notably, a. muscaria are featured in disney's fantasia (1940).
towa otonashi: the pink oyster mushroom (or pleurotus djamor) is species of fungus in the family pleurotaceae. this species grows in tropical and subtropical areas. they are a widely cultivated fungus, used in cooking and hold heavily cultural signifcance in central mexican communities. towa was another person i was going to give wolf's milk too, because it reminds me of the bubbles he blows, but i chose this instead because it reminds me of his pink eyes.
ren shiranami: the ghost fungus (or omphalotus nidiformis) is a gilled basidiomycete mushroom found in southern australia, tasmania and india. it is most notable for its bioluminescent properties. when i think of ren, i get reminded of those glow in the dark stars people stick on their celling, i hope this makes sense to people. it also reminds me of his eyes.

alan mido: the blue-green stropharia (or stropharia aeruginosa) is a slimy woodland found in europe, iran and parts of north america. i gave this species to alan, as it reminds me of the dyed ends of his hair.
leo kurosagi: wolf’s milk (or lycogala epidendrum) is a cosmopolitan species of myxogastrid amoeba which is often mistaken for a fungus. this species is common in forests across north america, europe, asia and australia. i was originally going to give this to lyca (haha wolf) but i decided against it and gave it to leo instead, as it reminded me of his bubblegum artifact.
sho haizono: the blue roundhead mushroom (or stropharia caerulea) is a somewhat common type of mushroom forming fungus found in europe and north america. again, it reminds me of his pale blueish hair.

Hey by the way if you're an American and you're against the war, it's your duty to call out the shit that is insane and monstrous and wrong.
If someone says something that you know to be wrong, say something. Push back on it. Iran didn't start this war. They haven't been at war with the US for forty seven years. The US didn't have to support Israel's strikes with this kind of escalation (we haven't in the past, in fact Trump hasn't in the past). The Iranian people are not looking to the US as liberators. The Strait of Hormuz was always going to be used tactically in this way, it is absurd to suggest that the Iran would open it because it is the single best method of leverage they have to resist annihilation from a superpower. Bombing civilian infrastructure is a war crime. Saying that an entire culture will be destroyed is genocidal.
There is no moral reason for the US to do this, the reasons that the US is doing this are oil and to destabilize the region. Hubris, cruelty, and a vile old man who wants to give himself a hero's legacy play a part as well.
You should be saying out loud to the people around you "This war is unjust, unnecessary, and cruel, and every reason our leaders are giving us to tell us why we're doing it is a lie."
People should know you feel this way. Some people will feel the same way, and it will be good for you and for them to know that you're not alone. Some people will NOT feel this way and it will be good for them to know that there are people all around them who haven't bought into the violent propaganda of empire.
Simple things to say to push back:
There is no justification for bombing water and power infrastructure for ninety million people; that will kill thousands of civilians and is a war crime.
Iran was bombed while they were negotiating with the countries that bombed them; they were willing to make the agreements requested by the US and Israel before they were bombed.
The Strait was open in February. If the US and Israel hadn't attacked Iran there would have been no reason for Iran to close it.
You can't be an "imminent threat" for forty seven years, so either Trump is lying about the immanency or is lying about Iran being at war with us for half a century.
Correct! If you are enlisted you made one really bad decision already, you don't have to make more. You can become a conscientious objector if possible, but if that's not possible it is better to refuse orders and go to prison than to participate in atrocity.
demons that towa could have made a pact with
spoilers under cut!!
which demon did zenji make a pact with?
all im saying it's gotta be.... (spoilers under the cut)
