No you guys this post helped me find my cat. He was missing for almost a month and I’ve had him for over 12 years. After seeing this I put his favorite blanket he always slept on outside hoping he would smell mine or his scent and he was back the next fucking day asleep on it.
When my cat got out, we called and called for him, and then, later that night, I remembered similar advice to this, and so put his little scratching pad, which he adores, on the front porch. Not even half an hour later, I heard a thump, opened the door, and there was his big butt, meowing at me.

9 months of blue screens, and a virtually unusable laptop... then all of a sudden it refuses to get an internet connection. It'll connect fine to my cell, spare laptop, and any wifi hotspot, but no internet access... 30 years building computers and I've never seen such a fiasco lmao.
Message support and an hour of going over the many things I've already tried and no luck. Had to cut things short as I had an errand to run. Got home with a "fuck it" attitude and took the drastic measure of resetting Windows 10, leaving my files in place, and... problem gone...
I don't know how to feel about all this, but I've just spent the last five hours reinstalling my software... FIVE HOURS!!... And I haven't even begun to run everything and configure/customize.
This is the second reset, and third full setup I've had to do. I've had more BSODs from this than every computer previous, combined... times at least two. The damn thing is barely 2 years old. What the damn hell!? SO. FUCKING. GLAD that I bought extended support until 2022 lol. What a headache.
Folks. If you plan to buy a pre-built desktop, or a laptop, make sure you FULLY vet that sucker. I thought I had. I usually put in extra due diligence with such things, but apparently fell woefully short. This laptop is toted as a game changer for creatives. It's spent more time "on the bench" than in the wild. I can only hope this is the end of the issues. If it wasn't so far past the purchase date I'd be requesting a refund... It's been that big of a pain.
Sigh. Pleeeease let this thing run without issue going forward.

Nerd moment goosebumps!
Is it strange that I just got goosebumps reading an exchange between two people on the Microsoft answers forum? One of them being what I would consider a bit of a celebrity in the computing sphere, as he created a couple things in the 70's that are still being used to this day. I mean, I don't know about you, but I consider it a bit of a hallmark in celeb status when you have a Wikipedia page about you, lol.
Ward Christensen, creator of the XMODEM file transfer protocol, and the first bulliten board system (BBS), humbled me with his inquiry and innocence in the not so recently introduced solid state hard drives. I for one find it refreshing to see pioneers like this publicly discussing issues that I'm sure many worry about, as he was.
In a few short exchanges, I learned a fair bit about SSDs, witnessed an exchange between alumni akin to fawning, and got a couple of good laughs, too.

TIL
So I needed to reinstall Windows to a machine that doesn't have a CD/DVD drive (are those still a thing even lol), and I don't have a USB stick large enough for the installer, or want to buy one just for this.
Well, as it turns out, it's possible to create a bootable SD card and use that for installing windows 10, instead of using a DVD, or a USB stick.
Didn't take much time to set up, and the install was fast and smooth. Definitely going to give this another go in the future. Might have to look at creating a slipstream install that includes my commonly used utilities and settings, so I can just run it and walk away until it's done. Unattended installs kick ass!
Now... if I wasn't constantly getting a "Hard Drive not connected" error when I restart, I'd be a happy camper.
