that’s some damn tea
If extending a right to all people reduces your rights in any way? That means that right has been dependent on the oppression of someone else.
It means you’ve been profiting from the subjugation of others in some way. Are you good with that?
Wow this tea is SCALDING
SERVICE DOG PSA
So today I tripped. Fell flat on my face, it was awful but ultimately harmless. My service dog, however, is trained to go get an adult if I have a seizure, and he assumed this was a seizure (were training him to do more to care for me, but we didn’t learn I had epilepsy until a year after we got him)
I went after him after I had dusten off my jeans and my ego, and I found him trying to get the attention of a very annoyed woman. She was swatting him away and telling him to go away. So I feel like I need to make this heads up
If a service dog without a person approaches you, it means the person is down and in need of help
Don’t get scared, don’t get annoyed, follow the dog! If it had been an emergency situation, I could have vomited and choked, I could have hit my head, I could have had so many things happen to me. We’re going to update his training so if the first person doesn’t cooperate, he moves on, but seriously guys. If what’s-his-face could understand that lassie wanted him to go to the well, you can figure out that a dog in a vest proclaiming it a service dog wants you to follow him
does anyone wanna hold hands until we feel a little braver
the reblog map is all of us holding hands btw

scurvy has got to have one of the biggest disease/treatment coolness gaps of all time. like yeah too much time at sea will afflict you with a curse where your body starts unraveling and old wounds come back to haunt you like vengeful ghosts. unless☝️you eat a lemon
One of my favorite things is modern adaptations that leave people with the same careers they had in the original material, because unless you’re a cop or a doctor that practically never happens.
Irene Adler’s an opera singer. We still have those! They don’t have the same subtext exactly, but nothing is going to because we aren’t the Victorians. She could continue to be an opera singer. I have never seen this happen.
Jonathan Harker can still be in real estate. That’s a job people have. A modern story that still involves Dracula contacting his firm to help him purchase property sounds amazing actually.
A modern adaptation of Dracula where you keep seeing Jonathan Harker’s face on bus stop bench ads for his realtor office.

I was about to joke about Quincey Morris still being a cowboy, but then it occurred to me that he’s not actually a cowboy in the source material, is he? He’s the wealthy heir of a Texas ranch-owning family who just acts like an Old West cowboy. If anything, that’s even more plausible today than it was in 1897.
let’s see dracula shrug off getting hit with one of these country cosplay motherfuckers
Trying to start a new chain/game kinda thing because I'm looking for some new music.
If you see this and you like power metal, folk metal and/or symphonic metal, please reblog this with a song you want me to listen to
(other (sub)genres are okay too, but I'm mostly into power, folk and symphonic metal these days)
I tend to think of Lacrimosa as goth/goth metal but know they also crossover to symphonic. Also Saltatio Mortis are Folk Metal/Medieval style metal.
#edited to add better sound quality version of the Lacrimosa song.
My dad has bees. Today, I went to his house and he showed me all the honey he had gotten from the hives. He took the lid off a 5-gallon bucket full of honey and on top of the honey there were 3 little bees, struggling. They were covered in sticky honey and drowning. I asked him if we could help them and he said he was sure they wouldn't survive. Casualties of honey collection I suppose.
I asked him again if we could at least get them out and kill them quickly, after all he was the one who taught me to put a suffering animal (or bug) out of its misery. He finally conceded and scooped the bees out of the bucket. He put them in an empty Chobani yogurt container and put the plastic container outside.
Because he had disrupted the hive with the earlier honey collection, there were bees flying all over outside.
We put the 3 little bees in the container on a bench and left them to their fate. My dad called me out a little while later to show me what was happening. These three little bees were surrounded by all their sisters (all of the bees are females) and they were cleaning the sticky nearly dead bees, helping them to get all of the honey off of their bodies. We came back a short time later and there was only one little bee left in the container. She was still being tended to by her sisters.
When it was time for me to leave, we checked one last time and all three of the bees had been cleaned off enough to fly away and the container was empty.
Those three little bees lived because they were surrounded by family and friends who would not give up on them, family and friends who refused to let them drown in their own stickiness and resolved to help until the last little bee could be set free.
Bee Sisters. Bee Peers. Bee Teammates.
We could all learn a thing or two from these bees.
Bee kind always.
also: the bees aren't strong enough to pull the drowning ones out, and the humans aren't delicate enough to clean them off afterwards. helping takes a lot of forms.
This means everything to me. Sometimes we may think its futile to try because we can't see the next step, cant see something through to the end. "the bee will die anyways." "Even if i do what i can, i cant xyz, so whats the point?" But if we do what little we can, maybe someone else will come along and finish where we left off. Like how in a fundraiser many ppl work together to work towards a common goal.
I am heartbroken to learn that Atsushi Sakurai, vocalist of BUCK-TICK, has passed away. Thank you for using the time you had on this earth to share your wonderful music with us. May you live on through your songs. You'll be missed terribly. Rest in peace🕊️

people make fun of people with ADHD for saying that everything is a symptom of ADHD. and that's fair. it's annoying. but please understand. having ADHD is an endless conga line of realizations that some shit you thought had nothing to do with your ADHD is actually a symptom of ADHD. so eventually you're just like "probably that too, yeah, fuck it" whenever basically anything happens
Things my family deals with due to Autism/ADHD:
Having a hard time starting tasks like cleaning and cooking
Being late, because time doesn't exist
Being super early, because we're scared of being late
Eating disorders, because time doesn't exist and eating is a constant chore or a fun distraction, not an instinctive thing, and also dishes can't get dirty if you don't use them so buying take-out makes sense
Sleep deprivation
Fatiguecaused by poor diet and lack of sleep
Every cascading illness caused by stress, lack of nutrients, and sleep, all of which lower your immune system
Overworking, because we can't do dishes like normal people so we might as well feel useful somewhere
Not eating or sleeping, because we're focused on working
Sick again, because we didn't eat or sleep
Guilty because we're sick and can't work and work is the only thing we DO anymore so now we're depressed and overeat to feel better, or don't eat at all cause we feel bad, and can't sleep because how can we sleep when there's so much that needs to get don't that we aren't doing
Leading to more fatigue
Leading to more guilt
Leading to more depression
Leading to more stress
Leading to more work
Leading yo less rest
Leading to more fatigue
Guilt
