Pottermore - Wizarding Schools

There are eleven long-established and prestigious wizarding schools worldwide.

Theres some more information on wizarding schools. And Ilvermorny has been confirmed as the North American one! So the list is now

Hogwarts School - Scotland Durmstrang Institute - Northern Europe Beauxbatons Academy - the Pyrenees Ilvermorny - (if the map is legit and theres no reason it shouldn’t be, it’s in Canada but no info is provided obviously, because of FBAWTFT) Castelobruxo - Brazil (in a rainforest. Most interesting thing is she wrote that their castle also appears as ruins to muggles and ‘opinion is divided on who got the idea from whom’. which means it must be just as old! Bills pen pal was from here and the author of Advanced Potion making as well) Uagadou - Africa (they do SELF-transfiguration! And don’t generally use wands since wands are european invention. the description of the school is great, read it) Mahoutokoro - Japan ( they start training at 7 but don’t live there until they’re 11. read it to see how the kids get to school every day. its awesome. and they have magical rooobbeees cries cause I want them. AND THEY TURN WHITE IF YOU SCREW UP AND DO DARK MAGIC. WHy doesn’t all of the world do that???)

What do you think Lily was like with her friends? And when she was in love with James?

So Lily was 100% protective over her friends - something she has in common with James actually, and probably the reason why she stuck with Snape for so long after he started to make bad life choices. I think she’d be the kind of person who would joke around quite a lot with her friends, and really have quite a normal teenage girl relationship with them, though I think in Hogwarts that would be heightened slightly by living in each others pockets all the time - but I think she would actively try to make friends from different houses, for example I see Alice as a Hufflepuff and I can imagine Lily often being in their common room and hanging out there. I think she was a fairly easy person to get on with, but she’s very fiery and can be quite proud, especially around people she doesn’t know well, so you would not want to get on her bad side, she’s definitely a grudge holder, so if you did anything to upset her or one of her friends, she would not hesitate to rip you a new one. I think she’d be quite an outdoorsy person, not sporty but her and her friends would spend a lot of time outside in summer, either sat by the lake or walking around the grounds and I think she probably had a lot of people she knew, but only a few close friends who should would talk to about more personal things, and although she would be willing to help other people out, those friends were always her first priority.

Shortlybefore dating James and soon after they’d got together, she liked to flirtexcessively in classes and make dirty jokes over breakfast just to see James’shocked but happy face (and because it made Remus snort into his cereal). Oncethey were properly a couple and in love she was very relaxed around him - butshe also teased and pranked him and naturally he would always retaliate. Idon’t think they were massively into PDA but if they were a bit drunk theywould end up snogging in the middle of the common room, ignoring all thewolf-whistles (most of which were Sirius). They also occasionally abandonedtheir head boy and girl patrolling duties in order to make out at the top ofthe astronomy tower. Lily went to all James’ quidditch matches obviously andwhen it wasn’t too cold and rainy she would sit in the stands doing homeworkwhile he was training. There weren’t many opportunities to go on dates as therewas only really Hogsmeade nearby, and after one attempt at Madam Puddifoot’sthey decided they were definitely not that sort of couple and they’d muchrather have a butterbeer or four in the Three Broomsticks.

A wave of ice surged through Lily’s chest before she even stopped to comprehend what James was saying. For a moment as she fled up the stairs, she wasn’t thinking of Voldemort or her son’s safety. James’s words rang in her head as she fled, the words that had been inscribed on her skin since before she knew how to read them.

And there was fear, of course, for herself and for Harry, but they also had a second of hope however impossible. James was the one whose last words she had just heard. James was the one past saving.

She heard his body hit the floor.

Lily pushed everything in the room against the door, frantic and nearly hysterical, but pushing through her grief to protect her son.

Still the tears came and seconds before Voldemort blasted aside her makeshift barricade, she couldn’t help but think that all those times James Potter had teasingly declared himself her soulmate, he had been right.

Arrogant, selfless, brilliant arse that he was, he was right. 

And he was gone.
