that's how it is with noises as well i think i could blast loud music through my headphones sometimes and it's fine but the second someone sneezes too loudly near me or a bus passes by a bit too close to me the fight or flight response kicks in and I try to run away like a neanderthal
i mean it's not "uncomfortable" nah I literally wanna shatter like a cheap dollar store plate on the kitchen floor it makes me wanna separate my skeletal structure from my muscles
