I wanted to draw her hair like on her "Fluffy Wool" character card variant of the Helmet card, so she has her headscarf back for this.

Went for a bit more sheepy features - fluffy tail, hooves instead of fingernails, etc.

i do think there should be more stories and shows and stuff about guys falling in love with butch women actually, i think that’d be a good thing. and not ‘this is as butch as twitter can handle’, i mean butch as can fucking be without apology, and making those boys weak in the knees about it. i think it’s great actually to have f/m romances that exist to break gender norms, too. i think it sucks that the only mainstream het romances that exist are either about women who are already feminine or with women who are just a little too scarily masculine and have to be fixed into being girlier. that’s shit.

it’s not like. taking away from queer people if you let “the straights” have some genderfuckery in their romance, too. that’s good, actually, the blurring of gender roles and performance and getting better understandings of your own sexuality is good for everyone. and it’s really fucking weird if you think that mainstream “het” romances shouldn’t feature women who are “too masculine” because that’s only allowed for queer people, somehow.

Last night I was able to finally present my #dnd5e group with this intro to their fight with one Agdon Longscarf! Storyboard by me, I also sang most of it, though Aishia is voiced by her player, @fundz64​ for the one line. This is for the other anon: A lot of big artists and influencers and whatnot don’t generally like to talk about this, but honestly? Social media is a game of luck. You can do anything an everything you can to gain traction on a platform for years, like watching videos on how to get more followers or how to make an algorithm work to your advantage- but at the end of the day, it’s luck that the algorithm boosts your work. You can be an excellent writer, artist, or the funniest comedian alive, and you can still be stuck with just a couple of followers.

What matters most is that you are making art for you. Maybe utilize the few followers you have. Talk to them, befriend them and other artists, too! Make a small community for yourself.

Yes, it is a lot about luck and that is why it is so important to focus on what you love and what interests you, and also to find like-minded people. Many popular artists also end up with burnout and disappointment in themselves, too much starts to depend on numbers.

I built up my modest popularity until I stopped caring like three or four times - on FurAffinity on pre-Algorithm Twitter, on Twitch (just enough to get affiliate and then I saw the extra tax forms), on Youtube (that one was an accident thanks to a couple popular animations).

It's always just been about digging in and making your own stuff that you personally value. Then at least one person finds value in it from the start. Turns out that means other people might like it too. All the other "strategies" might work briefly but it's just churn to make money for the host site.

I had my most popular post on Mastodon the other week just because I had an idea for a shirt and doodled it to amuse myself, and shared it. Turns out a lot of others thought it was funny enough to share too.

Point is, just make stuff you like, and share it so others have a chance to like it too, try not to stress over the numbers.

the reason art with ai at the creative helm will never get traction in any long term or meaningful trot is because art is more than what is in the text of the book, or notes of the song, or runtime of the movie. art is whats OUTSIDE of the medium, a performance piece between creator and experiencer

i say this all the time and i think most buckaroos think im off in the clouds as eccentric ART WEIRDO (theyre NOT WRONG) but in a practical BUSINESS sense what i am saying is true. folks want to pretend art is in some lab where art and artist and viewer are separate things. but they never will be

art exists outside of a vacuum. it is not static. it grows and lives and evolves based on culture its in and who is experiencing it. whether you know it or not, what you LIKE or DISLIKE has just as much to do with the story AROUND the art than the art itself.

you carry what you know about me to my tinglers, you carry what you know about the beatles to the beatles, you even carry what you DONT KNOW to artists and THAT changes your experience. the STORY outside of the art is unavoidable because the lack of a story is still a story

so what does this have to do with ai art? my point is, the STORY of ai generated art is potentially interesting when it FIRST happens, or when its a one of one, but when it is co-opted by corporations to make slop, or when you consider the ethics of data scraping and theft, the story becomes sour

in other words, REGARDLESS OF WHAT AI GENERATED ART ‘MAKES’, the STORY outside of the story is derivative and unethical. what is even more important, and the greatest problem of all, is that its very very BORING. ‘oh wonderful someone made a painting from a prompt CANT WAIT to dive into this world’

so fundamentally these projects from tech goofs only serve to show that they have absolutely no understanding of art in the first place. the starry night is not just a painting, it is a three point tether between van gogh, the painting and us, which is constantly breathing and moving and living

if i was to give advice to any artist about how to stand out in their field i would say this: figure out what YOUR STORY is, not just within your chosen medium, but OUTSIDE of any medium. THAT STORY is your art, and it is infinitely cosmically unique. USE IT. EMBRACE IT. that is your power buckaroo
