Not being able to eat sugar isn’t on the same level as having such a severe allergy that BREATHING IN PARTICLES is enough to trigger it.

Also, YES, that is exactly why food chains HAVE to disclose common allergens and if they’re cooked in the same fryer or even general vicinity. Also, keep in mind, this girl was FOUR YEARS OLD. It is very unlikely that a four year old has any choice of what flight she can take. It shouldn’t matter anyway, because disabled people are going to share spaces with you, and you need to respect that.

Your right to bodily autonomy does not apply when it infringes on the rights of another human being. You can simply not eat nuts, and it won’t kill you to not eat them. That little girl could’ve died though.

Does framing it this way make more sense to you Individuals??? Because that's what this passenger chose to do. They chose to grab this child by the neck and squeeze, just because she had the temerity to ask for people to eat literally anything else. Not eating nuts during a flight is not a form of oppression. You don't have the right to kill people over a snack.

As for why it matters so much on an airplane:

1. The plane recycles the air.

2. Enclosed spaces mean that the nut particles are concentrated, instead of blown away.

3. The person can't just leave. They also can't get to a hospital unless the whole plane diverts- which is not always possible.

4. Epi pens are *temporary* aids, not permanent fixers. They buy you time to get to the hospital.

5. The person may not have had another option, other than a plane. When I was a baby, flying was the only way to get across the ocean. I mean, maybe we could have gone by ship, but it would have taken ages.

6. Again, you're not being oppressed. You can eat literally anything else. People deserve to live more than you deserve a snack.

7. People with allergies deserve to be out in public. You disgusting ableists want to bring us back to the age of the Ugly Laws.
