With Eurovision 2026 coming in a matter of days, kicking off on Tuesday, 12 May, I have a new finished object to share with you!
I have made Eurovision-inspired projects in the past, but the majority of them have been shawls, usually of the crocheted variety. However, in the months leading up to this yearās Contest, as soon as I saw the winner of one of the national finals that are used toā¦
As I already have a good idea of who the finalists are, Iām not doing a running commentary tonight, but instead Iām going to give my predictions on how I think they will finish and lock in my final guesses (with the exception of Cat Witch, as her identity has already been revealed as part of the Insider twist).
Catch my predictions after the break!
Okay, here are my predictions and final guesses.
Fourth Place: Galaxy Girl š
She probably has the weakest vocals of the four masked singers remaining, but she is by no means bad at it. Stingray said heās been trekking through life with someone else in the competition, and that was just confirmation that his wife is in fact competing.
Who Do I Think She Is?: Ashlee Simpson (wife of Stingray, Evan Ross). It took a few rounds for the clues to come together, but they did.
Third Place: Cat Witch šā⬠š§
The other three placings were tricky for me to decide on because I think the vocal talent between the three of them is pretty even (yes, even Pugcasso). Some fans think that Cat Witch could pull off a surprise win! Regardless, I think it is going to be a very close audience vote between the final three if it turns out like I think it will.
So, we already know that Cat Witch is Kylie Cantrall from The Descendants. Butā¦
Are the Judges Going to Be Anywhere Close to Guessing Her Identity?: Yes, especially since Rita Ora guessed her correctly last week! Whether the other judges agree with her is another question.
Runner-Up: Crane š¦¢
I was waffling so much between Crane and Pugcasso over who between the two of them could win. Ultimately, I think Pugcasso has more of an emotional connection with both the audiences and the judges that I think he might pull off the win. But Crane is ridiculously talented and is the best all-around performer of the finalists.
Who Do I Think She Is?: It took me a while to get there, but Iām now pretty sure itās Normani from Fifth Harmony.
Winner: Pugcasso š¶ šØ
Pugcasso doesnāt have the best pure voice of the four, but he is really good at his particular style of singing. I figured his identity out the earliest of the four, only taking a couple of rounds for me to definitively settle on my guess as to his identity. While having Ben Zobrist on here would have been interesting, Iām glad that if Iām correct, the guy that this actually is has gotten this far. But heās no stranger to competing in finales.
Who Do I Think He Is?: Iām pretty sure that this is Phillip Phillips, and Iām pulling for him to become the first American Idol alum to win The Masked Singer. Several have competed (Ruben & Clay as the Beets š«, Katharine McPhee as part of the Banana Split š šØ), but the best finish for one is still Rottweiler š (aka Chris Daughtry), the runner-up from Season 2, who improved on his American Idol finish by two spots, and Macaw š¦ (aka David Archuleta) from Season 9, who tied his runner-up finish from American Idol.
I am watching tonightās episode of The Masked Singer, but will not be writing a commentary because I think I have the semifinalists figured out.
So, Iāll give my current guesses to their identities and then give my prediction on who gets unmasked tonight. (I am watching on a delay, and not as itās being broadcast.)
My guesses:
Pangolin š¦”: Rachel Platten
Galaxy Girl š: Ashlee Simpson
Crane š¦¢: Normani
Pugcasso š¶ šØ: Phillip Phillips
And we already know that Cat Witch šā⬠š§ is Kylie Cantrall, but so far the judges have not gotten anywhere close to guessing her identity.
As for who gets unmasked tonight, I think itās either Galaxy Girl or Cat Witch.
Tonightās episode will have a double elimination. The remaining competitors will advance to the Semifinal.
As always, I post before seeing any unmaskings, so these are my guesses and not spoilers. I am watching on a delay.
Stingray ā”ļø š: Looks like this weekās singers are also getting Colossal Clues. His clues are: he says heās been ātrekking with someone else in this competitionā and heās not Jason Derulo. His final clue is a sequined glove. This has to be Evan Ross, because I already believe his wife Ashlee Simpson is Galaxy Girl. And the sequined glove is definitely a reference to Michael Jackson, who was a close friend of Evanās mom Diana Ross. (The Jackson 5 were major stars for the Motown label, as was Diana Ross, and Michael also costarred alongside Diana in The Wiz, where Diana played Dorothy and Michael was The Scarecrow.)
Cat Witch šā⬠š§: Soā¦are the judges any closer to getting her identity correct? Iāll say, only on this show could you have Klingons as your backup dancers! Okay, judges? There was a constellation of the Cancer āļø symbol on the screen at the end. Kylie Cantrallās zodiac sign is indeed Cancer (her birthday is June 25.) Short answer, theyāre not any closer to guessing her identity!
14 Karat Carrot š„: Itās been a bit since he last performed! His Colossal Clues: Johnny Gill from New Edition, who confirms that the 14 Karat Carrot doesnāt sing for a living. An Alien calls for āCaptain Justiceā. Referring to past clue packages, this seems to confirm that he is Judge Greg Mathis. He also has said heās asked Johnny Gill if he could join New Edition, and he said the response was āStay in your own court.ā His fanny pack also has the Scales of Justice āļø on it.
Galaxy Girl š: Her Colossal Clues: sheās not Gwen Stefani, and we see a pair of Vegas Showgirls. So, sheās done some extensive work in Las Vegas. Iām still pretty sure this is Ashlee Simpson, and the voice definitely sounds like her.
Iād love to see a version of Julius Caesar where he takes the beware the Ides of March warning seriously like āoh shit. good heads up man thanksā and he goes into it with his own knife. He calms down a bit when he seeās all his best friends like āyea, the squad is here and everyone is strapped. niceā
As always, I post before seeing any unmaskings, so these are my guesses and not spoilers.
Pangolin š¦”: She said āItās gonna take you a thousand years to get thisā and claims sheās not Christina Perri, because Christina is her āColossal Clueā. But Christina Perri claims sheās friends with Pangolin. Judging from her singing voice, if sheās not Christina Perri, Iām leaning towards her being Rachel Platten.
High Voltage ā”ļø: The āColossal Clueā is a cowboy on a horse. Iām still thinking this is Alexi Lalas. Alexi has been known to wear cowboy hats while in his capacity as a sports analyst. Heās not showing the strongest vocals tonight, so he might be getting unmasked. He says heās been āā¦feeling 22 for a long timeā. High Voltage has a 22 on his costume, and 22 was Alexi Lalasās jersey number during his soccer career.
Pugcasso š¶ šØ: His āColossal Clueā is that this isnāt his first competition and heās taken the Olympics by storm. Again, this solidifies Phillip Phillips for me because one of the biggest reasons why āHomeā became such a huge hit single for him (and even surpassed Kelly Clarksonās āA Moment Like Thisā to become the most successful American Idol coronation song in the showās run) was because NBC used the song prominently during its coverage of the U.S. Womenās Gymnastics Team in the 2012 Summer Olympics, just a few months after he won American Idol. (Coronation songs have typically not performed as well on the charts from about season 8 onward. āHomeā was the exception to that, and its use in Olympic coverage played a huge part in it becoming as successful as it did.) Can we get Phillip to release that version of āDreamsā by The Cranberries as a single?
Crane š¦¢: Her Colossal Clue is that sheās not Ashanti and we see a football player on bended knee with a ring. Sheās with a football player, either engaged to one or married. Ciara is still a possibility, as sheās married to Russell Wilson, but Crane doesnāt quite sound like her. Another possibility Iāve seen is Normani from Fifth Harmony, which would fit with the construction helmet clue, as one of the groupās biggest hits was āWork from Homeā, and the music video had a construction site theme. Normani also has a Soul Train Award. The clues are now pointing more towards Normani.
Tonightās episode pays tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne. His daughter Kelly Osbourne (who was Ladybug š in a previous season) will be a guest judge.
As always, I post before seeing any unmaskings, so these are my guesses and not spoilers. I watched this weekās Survivor episode first, so Iām watching tonightās episode on a delay.
High Voltage ā”ļø: Iām still thinking this is soccer player Alexi Lalas, but letās see what the clues are telling us. Says he was a big fan of Ozzyās. Heās seen carrying a yellow gym bag. Says he ābroke out from a groupā and went solo. We see a sign reading ā95Ā¢ā. He has a jar labeled āJamā. Heās seen pressing a red button. He says he runs businesses, bands, and podcasts. Well, since retiring from professional soccer, Alexi has worked as a sports commentator (āgoing soloā) in addition to his music career. The ā95ā could be a reference to helping the U.S. national soccer team winning the U.S. Cup that in 1995. The bonus clue: a card reading āBandwagonā. He says he inspired others to join the bandwagon. Iād imagine Alexi may have inspired an entire generation of American boys to take up soccer. So, Iām sticking with Alexi Lalas.
Galaxy Girl š: Says her first concert was at Lilith Fair (a festival tour in the late 1990s that featured mostly female pop and rock singers on the bill). We see a tarantula crawling across her piano. We see a gondola in a fountain. Sheās seen holding a record called āDreamā made of clouds on the cover. Iām definitely hearing Ashlee Simpson this time, as pop rock has always seemed to be her avenue as far as her vocals (she sang āDriveā by Incubus, who have performed at Ozzfest in the past). The bonus clue: a card reading āHaloā. Says not everyone earns Ć halo in lifeā¦but she did. And it sounds like Kelly Osbourne remembers Ashlee Simpsonās āpanic jigā from her infamous SNL fiasco. I didnāt notice the jig at the end of Galaxy Girlās performance, but Iām inclined to agree with Kelly and that itās Ashlee Simpson.
Eggplant š: Says he did Broadway and shared the spotlight with Cher. Then he says he dated a famous rockerās girlfriend. We see a cheese grater and a wagon wheel. We see a pile of firewood. I still think this is Jack Wagner, and he was in fact in a relationship with Heather Locklear, who was married to not one, but two different rock stars (Tommy Lee from Mƶtley Crüe was her first husband, and Richie Sambora from Bon Jovi was her second husband). He and Heather split up and he has since married a different woman (who is his second wife). The bonus clue: a card reading āClassic Guitarā. Jack Wagner does, in fact, play guitar. Iām sticking with Jack Wagner. (The wagon wheel because a person who drives wagons is a āWaggonerā, which is a play on āWagnerā.)
Pangolin š¦”: We see her at a renaissance fair. Near her is a kettlebell with a heart engraved on it. Says she was living and working out of her van. We see a trumpet with a banner reading āFameā hanging off of it. Says fame suddenly hit. We see a tip jar, and a horse with a banner reading ā1000ā on it. Iām thinking it could be either Rachel Platten (talking about a āstrong songā, maybe her signature song āFight Songā?) or Christina Perri (the tip jar and kettle bell could reference her song āJar of Heartsā, the ā1000ā referring to āA Thousand Yearsā). Christina sang unmasked to open Twilight Week in a recent episode. The bonus clue: the card reads āDiamondā. Has she had a diamond-certified single? āA Thousand Yearsā was certified diamond in in the U.S.! Okay, I think Iām going to go with Christina Perri this week.
Watching on a delay tonight due to me watching the Survivor 50 premiere. Taraji P. Henson joins as a guest judge tonight.
As always, I post before watching any unmaskings and what you see below are my guesses and not spoilers.
Crane š¦¢: We see a football helmet on the āSpice Girls Busā and she apparently knows Mel B (āScary Spiceā). Says her grandmother was an influence on her. Says her grandmother sewed her pageant gowns. We see a construction helmet. I was thinking this was Mya, but it could potentially be Ciara, who is married to a football player, Russell Wilson. The bonus clue: a train car. Tarajiās guess is Keke Palmer, because the train car could be a reference to the Soul Train Awards, which Keke has hosted. Ciara and Mya have both been nominated for Soul Train Awards, and Ciara has won 8 of them. I think Iām going to go with Ciara for now because of the football helmet clue.
Pugcasso š¶ šØ: We see a beer tap with up and down arrows on it. We see a sign reading āMaximum Capacity: 132 millionā. Heās seen looking at a sign that says āJohn Mayer / Bruce Springsteen / Pugcassoā. We see a picture of a full moon. The bonus clue: a flyer saying āRejected: Series Leadā. Iām still sticking with Phillip Phillips for this for two reasons: 132 million refers to the number of votes cast in the finale for his winning season of American Idol, and the full moon refers to his debut album post-Idol, The World from the Side of the Moon. The flyer might refer to him auditioning for Americaās Got Talent in its second season (which I think aired in 2007), although his audition was unsuccessful at the time. His run on American Idol came four or five years later.
Snow Cone š§: Seen holding a set of house keys. Seen drawing hearts on a window. She talks about her husband, and we see a bowl of chili peppers. (Has she possibly worked with the Red Hot Chili Peppers?) Says her family lost everything. There was a massive wildfire a year ago that destroyed the homes of several celebrities in the Los Angeles area. Sheās seen with Mr. Snow Cone sharing mugs of hot chocolate with marshmallows. The bonus clue: A cake reading āTo New Beginningsā. Iām sticking with Mandy Moore, as her home did suffer massive damage from the LA wildfire in January 2025. (Her home wasnāt destroyed, but the heat from the fire destroyed much of her familyās possessions inside.) Others have been guessing Heidi Montag, who also lost a home in the LA wildfires, but the āSnow Realā album cover keeps bringing me back to Mandy Moore and her debut album āSo Realā.
