TUA S4 Things I absolutely hated 🙃
(Made this post cause I am genuinely so sad right now)
Obviously it contains spoilers for S4 so do not read if you haven't watched the last season yet❗
Ray: After all the work Allison went through to get Ray (and Claire) back, all we find out is that he left her and that's it. No flashbacks, no meaningful conversations about it, no explanation. Nothing. Keep in mind this was one of her most important relationships throughout the whole series.
Sloane: Once again, nothing revealed about her either. A key character in S3 that was extremely significant to Luther's development and only had a minor mention and that's it😀
Viktor: I was just bored with his scenes. Seems like he had no individual storyline all season and was just upset/brooding all the time. The acting was also very weird this season. No hate to the actor in any way, but it felt very theatrical at some points.
Five: Was he usually an asshole to his family? Yes, however what made him a likable character was the fact that it was a sort of mask for him and anyone could tell you that he truly cared for them. Having that been said, what the writers did to him in S4 was character assassination at its finest. Genuinely did not think I was watching the same character I've known and loved since S1.
Lila: I don't even have the words for how upset I am with the way my favourite character was butchered, but the fact that she had some semi-romantic interactions with Five in front of Diego after their little affair was revealed kills me. S2/3 Lila would never😭
Diego and Lila: Excluding Lila cheating with He Who Shall Not Be Named, their relationship was completely destroyed. After all of the development they went through in S3, you're trying to tell me they both got bored with their lives and the marriage started falling apart? Just like that? What a joke...
Ben and Jennifer: One of the most hyped up relationships that got many viewers eager to find out more about it ever since it was mentioned back in the first season just to be an insta-love that didn't even feel genuine. I couldn't have cared less for either of them even if I tried.
Humour: It was practically nonexistent. The fat Diego jokes made no sense because he looked exactly the same. The constant Baby Shark song wasn't funny the first time it played and it wasn't funny the other 100 times it played. Overall, I just didn't feel amused the way I did in the previous seasons.
No plot twists: One of the things that I loved so much about TUA is the amount of crazy and unpredictable plot twists it had. This season? Meh. "Oh no! The Hargreeves siblings are the cause of the world ending over and over again!" No way! Really? Shocker...
The insane amount of plotholes and unanswered questions: Why was Jennifer in the squid and how did she get the element inside of her? Why did Lila get laser beam eyes? Why did Ray leave Allison? Why did Luther get his gorilla body back if it was never caused by his powers?
The ending: It was just so lazy and predictable. Even months before the trailer came out, a lot of people were making theories that somehow the Hargreeves siblings would cease to exist or they'd lose their memories. I was convinced that the writers wouldn't do that and give us a delicious plot twist. Oh boy, was I wrong...
I'll probably add more to this later when I get over the massive disappointment I feel now🤣
