Yesterday I made an offer to buy an apartment (on the condition that my mortgage is approved) and today my offer was accepted. So guess that's happening now. I mean, the bank – or rather, one of the three banks I'm currently pitting against each other for my favor – could still fuck me over, but I highly doubt it.

#it's a tiny little place #miniscule even #but other than that it ticks pretty much all the boxes #close to everywhere i need to go‚ wooden house older than 100 years‚ wood flooring‚ deep windowsills‚ working ceramic stove‚ high ceiling #and although it has been recently renovated‚ the reno was done by someone with good taste and a brain in their head #so it wasn't 'modernized' or whatever the fuck the assholes who ruin old houses by flipping them like to call it

So as it turns out your sense of self doesnt exist in a vacuum. You gotta actually use it and bounce it off of other people like echolocation to see where you are as a person and shit. So if you dont regularly interact with other people the echoes just get weaker and weaker and before you know it your personality is a blurry fucked up fog clone of its former self. which it sucks because this makes it really hard to interact with people again but yknow

amazing how leivo was described to me as "not very active" before i adopted him and when he arrived he was shaped like a barrel and got winded beyond belief from walking two blocks (like seriously, a 20 minute walk had him panting for an hour)

and now he is a lean, hyper active perpetual motion machine to whom a three hour walk is barely enough to satisfy his endless need to just go

#just goes to show that shelter descriptions are rarely indicative of how the dog actually is when its needs are being met #i mean i don't doubt that being forced to be sedentary would dampen his spirits enough to make him seem passive #but the only things this dog wants to do in his life are obviously just run and hunt and do #staying still is not one of his strong suits

#the only time i ever drink anything at night is if i had too much alcohol before going to bed and not enough water #the notion of a) waking up at night on a regular basis and b) needing to drink water when that happens is completely foreign to me #i usually sleep through the night uninterrupted #and i never get thirsty in general lol (gotta remind myself to drink at all most of the time tbh)

love it when a dog is staring my dog down from a distance and is obviously going to pounce at us the moment we come within range, but the owner doesn't even notice us coming, so the dog gets to rush toward us for the full five meters of its retractable leash

like, your dog has been sitting on its ass staring in the same direction for like 2 minutes, why on earth would you not even glance that way to see what it's looking at

#maybe that's just me but when my dog stares at something i want to know what it is #i get to see a lot of deer and other wildlife bc of it lol #but anyway #these situations are remarkably easier with leivo than they were with ruska #because he could not possibly care less #he just wants to get going bc there are hares and squirrels to sniff out #whereas ruska's approach to a charging dog was more along the lines of 'it's not murder if they started it right'
