What was the reason you got into Elder Scrolls?

Idk if anyone has done this yet, but I doubt I can fit this all into a poll lol

What was the thing that got you into The Elder Scrolls games, and eventually the fandom?

The thing that got me invested was when I saw my old childhood friend’s brother playing Skyrim on the PlayStation. I thought it looked fun and I ended up buying the game ages ago when I was but a wee lass. Later on, I invested into Oblivion, then Morrowind!

From then on, Elder Scrolls made me realize my love for RPGs and got me invested into stuff like Soulsborne games, Dragon Age, and now, Baldur’s Gate 3.

I got into the fandom whenever I saw an artist on Deviantart named SlayerSyrena made a bunch of comics about their Dark Brotherhood OC in Skyrim. Now, here I am either eating the delicious arts or making comics on my main.

skyrim was the first game i ever played on console and has long since been my favorite game! i also just love ESO and all its expansions, its so fun to just run around in a world i love! skyrim not only was my first game but the nostalgia i have for it beats everything, my dad taught me how to play on console (playstation 3) and since he flew helicopters i learned how to play inverted (fun fact!) so the game and all my memories i have remind me of my dad :))

i got into the fandom bc i saw tons of fanart thru pinterest and moved over to tumblr so i could see everyone’s art! i not only love seeing characters being drawn from the games but also peoples “player character” or oc’s within the universe!! i just love seeing people making art :D

this is either a really cold take or extremely controversial one but i think both pre- and post-war fallout should be weirder about food. sure pre-war we saw a lot of predictable 50's shit like tv dinners and novelty fast/frozen foods coming about, but i also think there was absolutely a continuation of the trend of deranged midcentury foods that cropped up in america. and that should continue in post-war because there's a lot of the same forces at play, except instead of the novelty of new food sources and storage methods, it's a scarcity. and frankly even by the time the bombs were about to drop, it's implied that supply chains were breaking down, rationing was kicking in, and resources were drying up in the states, so even more reason for that to still be culturally rooted down. throwing some of your limited remaining production capacity into making marshmallow fluff so people can continue to make their weird salads as is their god-given right as americans, even as cars run out of fuel and folks riot in the streets. is that anything.

there should be more insane improvisation, making casseroles or salads out of literally whatever you find that's edible. wastelanders figuring out how to make aspic again. combinations that have no business tasting good together but they manage to. sure i am also in favor of people trying to replicate GOOD old world foods and recreate things like seasonings but. more weird cooking

please help there's gotta be at least person in this fandom with historical culinary autism who understands my vision and can elaborate

Can’t believe no one’s done it yet I will be the person to add the cowboys: Latin American focus.

Here is the Chilean huaso:

Gauchos, from primarily Argentina where they’re a large national symbol close to the level of cowboys in the US. Also gauchos are in Uruguay.  Their pants are called bombachas and the other garment wrapped around them are called chiripas.  They work in grasslands called pampas, known for being really fertile:

While they’re not as dressed up as the others or have as prominent of a culture, for a broader Latin American cowboy context, I feel like also adding llaneros, who are from Colombia and Venezuela, in the llanos region, a type of tropical grassland similar to the pampas, hence the name llanero. Pampas get annual flooding and these guys would go barefoot a lot, and you can see that the stirrup on the horse’s saddle is really different than what you’re probably used to seeing, to accommodate for that, which is what I want to point out as an aspect of plains cultures developing clothing/accessories/tools to suit the environment. 

Cowboy culture happened wherever Spanish colonial influence and grassland biomes came together.  They differ based on the grasslands having different climates (ex tropical in South America), and the local indigenous influence (ex, backtracking to gauchos, they would use this tool called bolas to catch animals, which were basically two balls tied to a string that you threw and it spun around an animals legs, and were an indigenous invention):
