no dude. it's the human experience. why do you think that women or non-binary people could never understand the experiences of men? aren't we all just people? people who want to be pursued and to pursue? people who want to be held and kissed and hugged?? people who know what it's like to lose a parent, or have an abusive parent, or to feel like they aren't living up to expectations, real or imagined? heated rivalry is a portrayal of life dressed up in hockey gear. it's feeling isolated even when you're achieving everything you thought you wanted. it's feeling like an outsider. it's wanting to remember that magic and love (still) exist in a scary world. it's ilya handwashing cum from his rick owens. and i think that's beautiful
