I just ripped a textbook for class off z-library and snatched a required reading from sci-hub. Life is good and education should be accessible at every stage and station of life.

It’s a metasearch engine, so it takes information from whatever providers you select and presents it to you as Google might but without ads or tracking, and you can pick which sources it searches, so you could only search Wikipedia and scihub and worldcat and whatnot by default

I love reverse: 1999 and it's magic system (even If I only understand it mechanically and still have some doubts with the lore).

Jack is Star because he has a relationship with an Astronomical Object. And because it is the games equivalent to Water/Wind.

Hiccup is Mineral because he is usually categorized as earth. And all mineral arcanists seem to be highly skilled people.

Rapunzel is Plant because a plant literally gave her her powers. And most healers in Reverse are Plants.

Merida is Beast because of her usually being fire. And her relationship with bear family and her horse.

I choose Mavis for Spirit because she was a CGI character released between 2010-12. And as a vampire she could either be mineral (for blood iron) or Spirit (for undead). Spirit felt good.

And Soren is Intellect and exactly the kind of thing Reverse would do. And the owls in Guardians of Gahoole are like, some form of brain magic with their gland divination stuff. Also owls = smart.

What would you change?

#i wouldnt change a thing - as a matter of fact i wanna assign niches to them based on this #jack would be an extra action focused character with some sort of frost/freeze mechanics too #with how movement is something he likes to use and abuse to get around situations id be surprised if he wouldnt be extra action focused #i can see hiccup as an ultimate focused character. possibly a support or sustain like a more specialized version of lopera #toothless could be part of an array effect almost similar to liang yue's quiangliang (lore-wise not mechanics-wise) and do extra actions to #rapunzel is a healer for sure. maybe shed specialize in the newer plant-aligned inspiration/impromptu niche we're getting in 3.4 #merida might be a combination of ultimate/burn similar to how brume is a combination of dynamo/burn #maybe shed have a target mark effect similar to argus's pinpointed status. beyond that im not too sure #i know much less about hotel transylvania and guardians of gahoole than i do about the other four but i will do my best #mavis being a vampire seems like a bloodtithe character. possibly a support type unit in that niche #and soren has inspiration/impromptu vibes to me with some extra action thrown in the mix #each niche has associated afflatuses (plant is rank up/neg status; star is extra action/impromptu; beast is ultimate/burn)#but there are some outliers like recoleta and ezra #and spirit & intellect dont have their own niches (except dynamo) but they have powerful units that are vital for other afflatus's niches #nautika for bloodtithe; beryl for glow; mercuria for rank up; aleph for inspiration; tuesday for poison #explaining this to help understand more about ingame characters being assigned certain afflatuses #and going deeper into why i chose each niche for these characters assigned here :)

I love that the pandemic actually definitively proved a lot of those "hard" questions for us. Masking up reduced cases of the flu to almost nonexistent numbers and we had zero flu deaths for a time. The welfare and social service and unemployment programs helped keep people living paycheck to paycheck out of poverty, and those stimulus checks some folks keep complaining about actually massively benefitted the common man and the economy. Individual personal travel was so extremely restricted on a global scale that we basically have concrete proof that individual restraint in terms of driving cars or travelling means absolutely nothing by comparison because the mass pollution is coming from the fisheries and the corporations with private jets and container ships. Working from home actually has massive benefits for a company like productivity boosts and better mental health of employees while also saving gas

and we're just. Willingly going back to how everything was before. We were shown how to do things better and the people in charge said "that's nice but we just want to get everything 'back to normal' :)"

The ACLU has better guidance for what to do at points of entry to the US, because border patrol does have bigger leeway for search and seizure at airports than if they were trying to detain you elsewhere. US citizens cannot be denied entry for refusing to comply with a request to search one’s phone, but they might also be detained and have their devices seized.
