Due to the only recently discovered hyperspecific requirements that Galarian's farfetch'd population needs to induce evolution paired with historic accounts of Kantonian farfetch'd evolving on several different continents, I'm confident that Kantonian farfetch'd can evolve, but due to their near extinction, they can no longer meet the requirements needed to evolve in the wild, and we just don't know what those requirements are, so we can't push them in the right direction in captivity. As farfetch'd numbers continue to climb at exponential rates in the wild due to them now being a protected species, I'm almost positive that we're going to start seeing the evolved form of Kantonian farfetch'd begin to pop up in the wild, just like sirfetch'd suddenly began to appear in Galar after the population became stable enough to support evolution. Since Galarian farfetch'd had a faster increase in population than their Kantonian counterparts due to a lack of an intense hunting culture in Galar areas where they live, it makes sense that they got there faster.

These situations always intrigue me, what if every Pokemon has like some condition that hasn't been discovered yet to evolve again, what if Pokemon that were thought to be two different species were linked by a discovered evolution

I'm not a scientist at all I just have thoughts

It's happened before! It's common knowledge that remoraid and octillery were widely believed to be completely unrelated pokemon for the longest time until there was readily available documentation of evolution between them, for instance. And then some evolutions, like machoke, gengar, trevenant, accelgor, etc. were only discovered in relatively recent history, since those evolutions are only 'activated' through technology that doesn't exist in the wild. Even evolutionary stages that exist in the wild weren't documented in modern science until recent years, since they were so elusive and/or rare, such as froslass or togekiss.

And that's to say nothing of extinct evolutions that no longer occur naturally! Early pokedex copies consistently list an evolution for stantler that we no longer know how to induce, nor is it known to exist in the wild anymore, despite stantler's overpopulation. We have pictures and even taxidermy, but no living examples of アヤシシ.
