for my pansexual awakening, i was watching pokemon (indigo league) and i was entranced by both Jessie and James

for my transgender awakening, my sisters were watching a one direction music video and i YEARNED to look like Harry Styles for some reason. I then realized that I only wanted to look like Harry Styles cuz Harry Styles was a boy.

i think my very first "i love women" moment was when i was four and i saw maria reynolds in hamilton for the first time... i was CAPTIVATED. it probably took me longer to learn that i was into guys at all than girls tbh and hhmmmi think christian borle might have been responsible for that ...?gulp.

my genderqueer awakening was hedwig and the angry inch and im so serious. after watching the movie for the first time i knew that there had to be so much more to me than just being a girl:)

my first ever lgbtq awakening was before i even knew what being queer was 😭😭 baby ozzy found out girls could marry girls and was like oh HELL yeah 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and identified as a lesbian for up until i was an early tween. as i got older i realized i wasnt cis, so i identified as many nonbinary umbrella identities for years, but was living in denial of being a trans man. eventually it got to a point where the tv was glowing so bright that all the blankets i laid over it over the years were doing nothing. so i took a deep breath and threw them off, changed my name, cut my hair, and accepted myself. i later on found out i was gay/mlm because of a will graham cosplay video. and then found out i was aroace spec for a reason i cant remember, but i had been asexual for years before that, like since i first identified as something other than cis. uhhhh and then after that all the labels i collected werent huge dramatic awakenings...more like seeing a label and going "ohhhh so thats what this feeling is" and then using the label from then on :3

I genuinely don't know ngl. Like it was just A Fact to me that gay was a thing. No clue of learning I was queer, no clue of learning queerness existed.

I did realise I was intersex when I saw an activism post by @ v-hypospadias and then like 4 days later I was like "wait. shit. THATS ME I HAVE THAT" and then looked up information and was like "OH THATS ME"

Mine is funny because I kinda always knew I was a man???? Like mom remembers me telling her that I wanted to be a boy when I was like 5 or 6. After that though my birth father scared me out of it and then it took me until like freshman year of high school when I chose my name to admit to myself that I was a boy. Then the bisexual and demi-romantic thing came after I started T and realized ah hell, I'm into people.

i didn't Reaaally know what i was until like. middle school, but my awakenings were krystal from starfox (specifically starfox assault) and like. maid merriam and robin hood from that one robin hood movie where they're all furries. and link from every zelda game ever. anyways- i knew enough that once i heard the label bisexual as well as its meaning i was like "oh. yep. thats me." and have not changed that in Years.

my gender awakening? that! is entirely my brothers fault. he transitioned and started going by a different name and i bluescreened and went "wait you can do that??????" and then i started transing my gender too because woah that was an option this whole time and i identify with it A Lot. additionally i got a haircut (not yet for super trans reasons? i was just kinda. curious. at that point) and got called "sir" twice in one day because of it and the joy was unimaginable.

im grabbin anybody who wants to be grabbed.. both my siblings have already been grabbed lolol.

i feel like part of the reason you don't see fun fluffy (not in the cute romance sense) silly slice of life style fanfics as much anymore is because peoples standards have gotten way way higher when it comes to fanworks in a way that kind of sucks. People want to read good fanfics and look at good fanart (who doesn't), but there's hardly any room for truly Playing Toys anymore because people get extremely pissy if something isn't in-character enough, which then makes writers of all kinds insecure about their writing, and insecure about posting it, because when they do make something 'bad' it's no longer just a person having fun and writing a fanfic that's not your thing, it becomes a personal affront on The Character You Love So Much. How Could They Do This? Are They Stupid? Can They Even Read? Do They Have Media Literacy? And like. I get it. I'm guilty of feeling the same way sometimes, I think most people are. But we can't have nice things when we're constantly mean to people. Even if indirectly. Everything has to be legitimate and in-character and there's very little wiggle room for being silly and unserious because then it would come off 'innaccurately' and obviously make the author a bumbling idiot with no sense. There's more to it than this for sure but I think the immense pressure of "they would not fucking say that" really weighs people down creatively
