The writing process in 10 steps:
Tell yourself that you should write and then donât do anything for two to three weeks.
Finally open the document, stare at it for ten minutes in silence, then close it again.
Force yourself to sit down and actually write, write two whole sentences, leave.
The next time you force yourself to write, delete those two sentences you wrote last time.
Fall into a trance at one in the morning and write for two hours.
Read over what you wrote the next morning, realise itâs good but also not readable in the state itâs in, procrastinate on editing for another week.
Convince yourself to write the next part, but only ever write a paragraph or two before going to tumblr or youtube or anywhere else you can scroll, spend a few minutes doing that, remember you were writing, go back to the document, repeat.
Finally finish the chapter, then agonise over a title for at least one day.
Promise yourself youâll get a proper schedule and tell yourself youâll do better next time.
