The first time Peter cried in front of him, it was after a really awful mission. The kid had gotten out unscathed, but Tony, scared shitless and fuming that Peter had ignored his orders to retreat, had gone off on him.

Ten minutes into his lecture, Peter had clenched his jaw and he’d sniffled, once, twice, and then. Tears. The sight of them had stunned Tony. Knocked his brain loose and his jaw slack and his heart tumbling out of his chest.

He’d apologized immediately, of course. Felt every muscle in his body vibrate with something sick, like the palladium was still poisoning him from the inside out.

He remembered thinking, God, I’d do anything to make him stop crying, and, how do I fix it, how do I fix it, how do I fix it?

It was such a visceral, tangible thing, the way loving something, a child, could make someone feel. Within the span of one second, Tony had full intention to rewire his own nervous system, rework his entire paleomammalian cortex, just to prevent this specific pain.

He’d change everything and anything about himself, because the kid was crying. Nothing else mattered. Nothing.

Hey guys, so I’ve been working on a new Iron dad fanfic, this is the first time I write one in English so I’m very excited, here’s the summary:

Tony Stark survived the snap, but Peter’s world didn't. With Aunt May gone and his friends scattered, Peter is brought into the Stark household, a place filled with high-tech labs and a sharp-tongued five-year-old sister who doesn't want a brother.

The Tower isn't the sanctuary it used to be. Between the awkwardness and the haunting silence of everything he lost, Peter is forced to confront a reality where he’s no longer the hero everyone knew, he’s just a kid trying to remember how to eat, sleep, and breathe in a world that’s moved on without him.

Its pretty much a hurt/comfort story, a bit sad at first, but it’s kind of sweet, I’m honestly not being too nice with Morgan, she’s a bit of a villain for now, but she’ll evolve, so if anyone would like to see Tony being a soft dad I think you’ll love this.

little civil war moment i very much appreciate:

tony seeing the kid get knocked across an entire airport. he’s on the ground, he’s limp, he’s not getting up. tony is hoping that he only got the wind rushed out of him, but he quickly goes over to check.

now, peter, he’s collapsed on the ground. his mask his half off, he’s trying to catch his breath, he knows he’s in a vulnerable spot here. then Somebody touches his arm and he’s immediately going into fight or flight to ward off the potential threat. it’s a bit of a ‘flailing baby bird’ approach, because he’s so tired, but he’s determined to stay in the ring.

his determination matters not. tony tells him he did a good job and sends him right back home. peter stops arguing pretty fast— he really is wiped.

Do you ever wonder if Tony was a dad to Morgan only because Peter proved that he can be a good father? Like if it wasnt for Peter he wouldnt make the decision to father a child wheather its an abortion or simply not being in the childs life? Because I think Peter was the reason he and pepper had morgan. Peter proved that tony could be good. He proved to him that he wasnt like howard.
