You rush outside, the door banging harshly against the wall with the amount of force you put into opening it. People are already surrounding him, trying to help, calling for medics. You're... frozen.
You feel it. Tears burning your eyes, chest heaving as if the oxygen can't claw itself out fast enough. The rain pours onto you, relentless, unforgiving. Your ears are ringing, every sensation all too much even as all you can see is him.
Until Astrid shakes you back into reality, telling you to get help. And you do, running as if your life — his life — depends on it. Because you know damn well it does.
You've never been so shaken up until now. The doctors keep saying he's lucky to be alive, but his chest is barely rising and all you can do is hope that he remembers you when he wakes up or that he can move again
