AI companies are going public now because the AI bubble is about to burst. They want suckers to buy stock right now before it is worth absolutely nothing. There have been whispers of companies attempting to sell their data centers and I’m inclined to believe the rumors. They have been trying so hard to market AI because they know it sucks ass.

i don't really like it when western mythological terms are applied haphazardly to essentially unrelated ideas. this is a completely lost battle but a lóng is really not a dragon, it is its own thing with only surface level similarities

i especially dislike many works that try to fold all sorts of different mythologies into a single consistent schema because they tend to heavily privilege western conceptions in doing so- see 'dragonology' books twisting basically every mythical reptilian under the sun into the mould of 'a species of dragon', implicitly centring the beowulf-style firebreather as the default from which all other mythologies derive, or basically anything that does worldwide vampire bloodlines

relatedly a qílín is not a unicorn, a fènghuáng is not a phoenix, and a jiāngshī is not a vampire, and it can impede understanding when they're approached from the standpoint of being the 'chinese version' of these concepts from western myth

what people dont get about the transmasculine experience is that transitioning often subjects us to MORE misogyny than before. after my family found out i was trans, they were MORE misogynistic to me. my gender presentation was more closely controlled. i was more closely controlled. i was screamed at for dressing tomboyishly. my breasts were suddenly a topic of discussion. i hadn't even mentioned medical transition, but i was told i was "ruining my [divine female] body" by... what, flattening my chest and wearing flannel? i was suddenly a source of embarrassment, the eldest daughter who refuses to conform to her role as a woman. i was forced into dresses that showed my cleavage and bare back, in middle school, which i was extremely open about not wanting to wear.

all of this is explained by a very simple fact, which has always been common knowledge in the transmasc community: they don't treat us like men just because we say we are.

Guy in charge of company that's recently seen a lot of complaints around how shitty the AI assets they're putting in their games makes the games, and which developed the engine that they're about to try to replace their central gimmick feature in with AI (thus meaning that anyone who uses the newest version of the engine will be using AI), is screaming crying throwing up about how the biggest storefront makes you tell them if there's AI in your game. Because people don't want to buy games with AI. So it's 'unfair' that you can't hide the AI and this will hurt developers using the latest version of the engine he wants to push on them.
