boomers realizing that they’ve been rallying against healthcare for all during the spread of a disease that is most deadly for their demographic
See when you do clownery.
How's my fuck boy face?
Turn the sound on at your own risk
Oh my god
you don’t hate winter, you hate living an atomized existence where you get up and go to your shitty job rather than sit inside under a fire with your kin telling stories, eating, and playing
Capitalism: go to work 10000 years of evolution: stay home and spin wool and yarns
Capitalism: wail for the night is dark and cold!
Instincts: Rejoice for now we must light fires and be close to those we love! We must sing for the long night is the time for celebration and comraderie!
Really, my instinct in winter is to sit by the fire and Make Things, while living off the stores I’ve stashed up through summer and fall. Sometimes go outside and marvel at the beauty of the frozen world and all that.
It’s queerphobic that I have to go to work instead, tbh.
I really do hate this trend on queer/lgbtqiapn+ Tumblr of like trying to divide everyone up into neat clear categories and identities. As if our identities and experiences haven't always been overlapping and shared.
Two people who label themselves the same way may have very different kinds of experiences or two people wihh different labels may have very similar experiences. What ever happened to sexuality and gender are complicated and fluid? Whatever happened to defining your own identity?
Why are yall sitting around clutching your terms and your pearls like "no only this kind of (insert identity here) is valid/allowed to use this term, everyone else has to leave." especially for terms that like??? Historically have been open and used by more than one queer identity? Or have had multiple meanings in the past?
Lowkey like... Stop trying to make things be clear cut and make sense to cishet people. Because like... We won't. Identity is complicated and fluid and personal and as queer/lgbtqiapn+ people we often have to examine and try to understand it on a much more complicated and nuanced level than allo cis straight people have to.
And us being ~confusing~ isn't why they hate us, and simplifying our identities into rigid boxes (and then ostracising someone who can't fit into the more rigid boxes you've created and who therefore has to use a term 'wrong' or make their own term and then get called 'mogai hell') will not make cishets like or accept us!!!
Our identities are fluid and complex and interconnected and you don't have a right to tell someone how to identify because you think they don't quite fit your idea of what that label means. A lot of our labels can mean lot of things, encompass a lot of experiences, or have been used by multiple queer groups, and have done so historically. Respect that. Respect how people identify. If someone is identifying with a certain label its probably for a reason and they don't have to expose all the nuances of their identity to a stranger to justify that.

pancakes are made of eggs omfg
Y’all are crazy if you think a chicken won’t happily eat eggs. Y’all insane if you think a chicken won’t tear some nuggets UP. You are ON CRACK if you think a chicken won’t just, eat another injured chicken
Me and some friends were collecting eggs on this farm. We dropped one of them and they went absolutely apeshit over that damn egg. Not even the shell was left.
I know people think chickens are herbivores but they absolutely aren’t.
Chickens are omnivores. They eat meat, they eat eat all sorts of fruits and vegetables.
This isn’t really well known to people who live off of farms or who have never spent time on one. It’s also thanks to tv and movies not showing this side of chickens.
It’s why eggs and chicken meat saying they come from “free-range vegetarian chickens” are HILARIOUS, because if they’re free-range, you can’t control that, and the tiny dinosaurs ARE going to eat a lot of things. And if a mouse meets an early demise because it came near the tiny dinosaurs … ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As a kid I once threw the neighbor’s chickens a chicken nugget just to see what would happen.
Answer; they fuckin demolished it. Tore it apart and wolfed it down in seconds.
Rose tinted chicken glasses used to be a very common invention for chickens, because if they saw a speck of blood on another chicken they would gang up on it and murder it to death and feast on it.
Actual piranhas don’t act like Hollywood piranhas.
Chickens, however, do act like Hollywood piranhas. Those fuckers get a taste for blood and they become fucking ravenous fiends. They’re still very much dinosaur.
Pancakes are looking a little tame, huh?

The Chicken Run movie is now a horror flick
A lot of animals that you think are herbivores will actually eat meat if they can get it. Horses will try it, giraffes have recently been filmed nomming on bones, most birds are actually omnivores that will eat anything they can get, with the exception of hummingbirds who only eat nectar.
Not quite true, re hummingbirds!
huh. so there really is no such thing as a true herbivore
Just thinking of that scene from Beauty and the Beast with Fran Drescher when her mom gave her chickens chicken meat and said, “You gave the chickens chicken? That’s like Silence of the Chickens.” Stuck in my head forever.
Hummingbirds also feed their babies insects. Better/more protein for growth than nectar, although they will feed them that too (by squirting it).
We’ve caught deer eating birds. We’ve seen hippos eating zebra.
Horses, elephants, rabbits and hares, we’ve now documented meat eating in all of them.
This is absolutely a nightmare murder planet, and that’s okay, because we are nightmare murder creatures ourselves. Let me tell you about the Greenland Shark.
IT lives in the ocean. Which is full of shit that will kill you if the water itself doesn’t drown you. They live in water so cold the temperature itself will kill you. They spend most of their time so deep the pressure would kill you if you survived all that other stuff. And the beast itself is a shark, that grows up to 20 feet long, and has been found with moose and polar bear remains in their stomach – fuck with it, and it can definitely kill you.
But wait, there’s more – the greenland shark, in order to survive the cold, is full of a chemical called trimethylamine which is poisonous to humans and can cause death if ingested.
Of course humans (from Iceland) considered it a delicacy. I mean after you pull the monster out of the murder soup it lives in you have to bury it under a rock for most of a year to ferment it (partially dissolve it into alcohol, ANOTHER poison) before you can eat it, but people have been doing just that for the last 700 years or more.
Side note, greenland sharks live so long that there’s just a chance there may be one alive today that was born before we started hunting them. They don’t even start having babies until they are 150 years old.
anyway, nightmare murder planet, and we fit in perfectly.
They’re huge??????????
That’s……a fucking WOMBAT?!?!
i thought wombats were small. That looks photoshopped!
That’s Patrick! A wombat raised since he was a joey on a wildlife park in Victoria, Aussie, he’s known as both the oldest and biggest wombat we know of!
Most wombats average around 30 to 40 inches, so fat Pat is definitely an outlier. For comparison here’s a more ‘regular’ wombat.

There has already been a post on environmental sexism but this is just a reminder
But why? Why only plant male trees? Is there some benefit to it or is it just ‘hurr durr male tree good female tree bad’?
Female trees drop seeds, which then have to be cleaned up.
So male trees are more convenient in that regard, but. Pollen. So. Much. Fucking Pollen.
Idk about you guys, but I think not fucking destroying everyone’s respiratory tracks might be more convenient in the long run. Just call it a hunch.
Also fuck the entire hell out of that. Just looking at all that pollen made me wheeze.
